West Ham hold all the cards as Liverpool and Newcastle cold shoulder Carroll

So Liverpool don't want him. And Newcastle aren't interested either. Which leaves Carroll with nowhere else to go. Now, given we hold all the cards, it's time to offer Liverpool a revised deal.

First off, they should be required to meet a percentage of Carroll's wages. They were bloody foolish enough to pay him 100k per week and they are desperate to get him off the wage bill. Fine. So we should alleviate some of that financial pressure, but not all of it.

Then there's the transfer fee. Fifteen million sounds toppy to me in the present market. Let's shave it down to twelve, with add ons based on goals scored and appearances.

And finally there's the issue of Carroll's injury. Let's ensure there's a clause in the deal protecting us should that injury turn out to be worse than first thought. We don't want Carroll arriving half fit, like Dean Ashton!

  1. Unless the poor lad goes back to Liverpool for 3 years and sits on the bench earning £90,000 a week for keeping fit poor thing?

  2. Alternatively, you can find someone else who fits Sam's plans and offer his club the 12m revised deal. Grant Holt, perhaps?

  3. lets just get it done rather than messing around trying to change the deal and giving others time to come in

we may find that while there no more interest at the price we've agreed, should we try to drop that price morre teams will come in

    1. He's gonna agree this week so you've got that wrong, making you a mug!
All teams end up looking small vs someone like Real Madrid are gonna mug the pool for Suarez.

  7. We do hold the cards with Carroll! with his injury record then we and not he decide his salary! but No our club have hyped up the signing that much and Carroll himself with reports he wants more money and to demand what shirt number he has, No One else wants him! Andy get that into you head!

  8. Don't agree we hold all the cards, Liverpool will tout him around, even Spurs might take alook at him if they get a good deal! The rumour is we have offered £12 mill plus appearance and success add ons, with Carroll being offered around £70k a week. The whole option is entirely up to Carroll who I am presuming, is weighing up all his options before committing, I say he will more and likely be a West Ham player

  9. The fee is £12m. Only rising to £15m based on goals and league position. Also where ever you got he earns £100k per week is a slight exageration as usual for our British press. I do agree though that we should do what we did with Joe Cole. Offer on a percentage of his wages and let him come to an agreement with Liverpool over the rest.

  11. Ridiculous article, the deal is already agreed and any attempted changes will mean Liverpool will pull out and then we will see where you are at next season. And by the way, Liverpool are not being mugged by madrid for Suarez, Suarez will not be allowed to leave until Liverpool's price is met aka Torres to Chelski.
The write shows gutter morals wanting to reneg on an already agreed deal. You won't get far for long behaving like that.

    1. The only reason Suarez will stay at Pool is if Real don't want him. Pool might wanna refuse Real but Suarez will just throw in a request and stop playing.

Pool should let him Roy in reserves but players have too much power now and Pool will sell

  12. Carroll on 70k pw which is quite a lot away from the 100k the write speaks of... Cares as little about facts as morals in terms of changing deals already agreed.
