Thank God we side stepped Anelka!

Let's face it, Anelka would have been a classic West Ham signing, being over the hill by a good two years by the time he would consider a move to us; and, of course, he is a former Bolton man. But this time, we resisted, no doubt because of absurdly inflated wage demands, and allowed Steve Clarke to sign the man who typifies everything that is loathsome about French footballers.

Well, one game into the season, and Old Nick is rumoured to have retired from the game following the death of the most important person in his life - outside of his own reflection in the mirror of course - his agent.

Now you can understand why multi millionaire Anelka is distressed by the death of the man who engineered his moves and negotiated his mega money contracts; and without him, why would he want to go on exactly?

But then again, if he retires, his income stream will come to a juddering halt. So expect Anelka to see out the season for the Baggies, just don't expect him to break sweat too often. He has the perfect excuse now, a season long dose of depression.

showing a real lack of class, criticising someone after another person has passed away.

No respect no life

Real scummy article. One of his agents is his brother. Now I know that it was not that one that has died but it is still a death of someone close to him. He has been given a couple of games off for compassionate reasons. Shame on you

Do me a favour! First off, it wasn't his brother who died. Secondly he is a grown man. People die. That's life. Didn't Parker play for West Ham in an early kick off the day after his father died?

Unbelievable. Your articles never cease to amaze me, usually for how unfunny they are. This is a new low, well done.

Why do you still write this blog? There isn't even any west ham fans that like you

If only Anelka and his crew (and I litterally mean it) had shown the same seriousness and compassion for all the clubs he went through as the readers criticizing the Fanno here....

I never liked Anelka, he's bad news. Bad character, bad team mate, only interested in the dosh, overrated and overpriced. He refused to train when at Real Madrid and got sanctioned for it, but still had stirred the dressing room with his capricious and selfish attitude. Years later, he was one of the instigators of the insurrection on the French squad during the world cup. France became motive of scorn everywhere after that, and they are still recovering.

How he has gotten away with that horrendous attitude all these years goes beyond my understanding. So no, no compassion for this guy. Compassion for the family members of the dead friend, but not for Anelka.

The boob strikes again

Some people took the piss out of you for a death in your family, I never did (and never will) so I find it abit low when you jump on the bandwagon of a death somebody is grieving over to take a side swipe at them! Shows your self importance!
