So that's it then. Having surrendered five points in our one club quest to stay the right side of the Financial Fair Play rules, David Sullivan has suddenly decided to face up to the wrath of the footballing authorities rather than trust to the possibility that, sometime this side of never, Maiga might learn that those funny white posts with a net attached is called a goal.
Of course, should we narrowly avoid the drop, we can expect a disciplinary hearing and calls to financially compensate any team that goes down in our stead. Crystal Palace have probably appointed a team of lawyers already, and the first team that Petric scores against will instantly put together a case proving that the former Fulham man was a one man team. Well, he's already proved himself a better keeper than Rob Green if you believe some reports!
Neil Warnock is probably touting himself as a consultant and expert witness as you read this whilst Shafting United's McScab is no doubt investigating the possibility of a "piggy back" claim, asking for a retrospective review of the Tevez case in the light of proof that the London club are a bunch of cheating East End shysters. Every player in the Prem, meanwhile, is asking his agent to seek legal advice on making a claim for a personal loss.
Meanwhile Scotty Duxbury will probably offer his services to the club in an effort to mitigate losses, persuading the Board to accept a deduction of 18 points, a fine somewhere in the range of £30m to £60m, and compensation deals, to avoid costly legal actions, amounting to £700m.
No wonder we didn't try to sign a striker before the window closed!
What points deduction? There are no reports we have gone over the wage limit by signing Petric
ReplyDeleteYou are probably the best writer on the planet you are wasted on this website are you a millwall fan ?
ReplyDeleteSo we loan a couple of Henderson, Taylor, Vaz Te, etc. to the championship and offset the money. Sorted.
ReplyDeleteHow did Andy Carroll pass a fitness test with a dodgy heel during the summer ?
ReplyDeletewho do you really support?
ReplyDeleteyou never do anything but slag west ham off
usually with made up, poorly written and worst researched drivel such as this
Excellent article.
ReplyDeleteUnless Petrics wages are over £4million then we are safe, i somehow doubt we are paying him £77000 a week. Utter nonsense
ReplyDeleteBlimey, you lot don't have much of a sense of humour, do you? It's tongue in cheek! Loved the article, made me chuckle.
ReplyDeleteMore negative garbage - You are just a time waster. What a pitiful blog
ReplyDeleteeven if we had to stick to these financial rules we loaned out spence and probably claimed on the insurance on diarra, add to that we have the whole season to balance he books so can sell and loan players out in January and only pay them for half a season but yeah was a daft thing for the owners to keep saying when its not true
ReplyDeleteWotta absolute load of rubbish. You've completey lost it mate haha
ReplyDeleteHaha.....perhaps an explanation of 'irony' might help a few of you!
ReplyDeleteDear oh dear, some very gullible people vist this site.
ReplyDeletehis wages are not that hight but alongside downing's, AC's, Rats and Adrien's i imagine we broke the financial restriction but apparently they dont come into effect until next season otherwise spurs, cardiff, sunderland and villa are over their limit
ReplyDeleteThought the rules don't come in till 2015.
ReplyDeleteI keep reading the different West Ham sites, I am wondering is there any true Hammers fans writing these load of cobblers. Most sites seem to just slag the club off for everything they do or don't do. Everyone has been going on and on about a new striker, we get one... Oh he's no good, he's crap... etc..
ReplyDeleteWhy don't we all get behind the team and shut the f**k up about about anything negative.
Carrol was injured most of last season and we did alright its just a setback were still a better side now than then
ReplyDeleteFinancial fair play doesn't come in until next season! It's rubbish. Suuly and Gold have been hiding behind it all through the transfer window
ReplyDeleteWe would be better off putting Ravel up front at least he knows where the goal is ,Carrol spent most of last season injured and we finished tenth don't know what all the fuss is about Sam gone out and got cover and we aint broke the bank were West Ham not Real Moneybags we aint ever gonna spend tens of millions on players. We can trust Sam to make the best of what his got.
ReplyDeleteEven your own fans slag you off and think you are clown! Funny :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd last week you were assassinated for pointing out that sugo and bfs were probably telling porkies about the ffp rules they kept banging on about.
ReplyDeleteMayne its the people reading your sarcastic but poignant posts who are crazy. they are the ones writing the dross.
go back and read past articles you humorless numpties
yous a fool innit?
ReplyDelete16.21 tee hee the voice of reason, but of course he won't take any notice, won't comment and will carry with his perverse and childish drivel.
ReplyDelete"What points deduction? There are no reports we have gone over the wage limit by signing Petric"
ReplyDeleteDon't worry. It's all Sheff Utd's fault anyway.
"You are probably the best writer on the planet you are wasted on this website are you a millwall fan ?"
Nope. Just like the hard on winding people up gives him. It's the only way.
"So we loan a couple of Henderson, Taylor, Vaz Te, etc. to the championship and offset the money. Sorted."
And that's how financial fair play works folks. And the best fun is had whinging when other clubs flout the rules.
"How did Andy Carroll pass a fitness test with a dodgy heel during the summer ?"
All those claret and blue shirts with his name on the back sitting in a warehouse may just have swayed the doc's opinion.
"who do you really support?
No one. Not with attendance anyway.
"you never do anything but slag west ham off"
Oh christ he does. you should read his bile about Leeds. then try his shit stirring about Leeds. and if you're still awake you could always read his witty shite about Leeds. Or maybe Leeds is your thing. Try Leeds if Leeds isn't what you want. And on and on and on and on........
"sually with made up, poorly written and worst researched drivel such as this"
This is the hit factory don't you know. Good writing gets no reaction. No reaction makes for a very lonely life.
"Excellent article."
As always the beauty of allowing anonymous comments is you can respond to yourself. Brilliant in'it?
"Unless Petrics wages are over £4million then we are safe, i somehow doubt we are paying him £77000 a week. Utter nonsense"
Don't worry. Trev Brooking will make sure you don't get adversely penalised anyway. Why wast your finger tips?
If we were going to suffer a points deduction would we not have found the money to get a Big Sam type striker on a fee. Nothing to do with fair play rules, the Olympic move is costing us more than originally budgeted. So no more money left for the squad.
ReplyDeleteDo people know what sarcasm is?
ReplyDeleteDoes nobody else sense the sarcasm?!?
ReplyDeleteDoes nobody else sense the sarcasm??!!
ReplyDeleteSarcasm is wasted on many
ReplyDeleteIt seems some of the posters in the comments have never heard of sarcasm.....
ReplyDeleteNo win bonuses or goal bonuses for Diarra or Carroll as they aren't playing all season, that should save a salary at least.
ReplyDeleteCan you cretins see that this is a tounge in cheek article honestly there are some thick West Ham supporters out there.
ReplyDeleteI did submit a comment but it hasn't been published. I'll try again. This article is nonsense. Fpp doesnt start until next season. I suspect Sully has used this as an excuse so that he didnt have to spend more money.
ReplyDeleteAn article in the Evening Standard about two weeks ago talked to a UEFA rep, either Blatter or Platini. He said that these are for UEFA competitions and had no power over domestic competitions. He also said it was unlikely UEFA would deduct points from a team and so lose their place in a European competition, as they would probably be sued for loss of earnings.
ReplyDeleteIs there a wages restriction in the domestic leagues as well ?
Utter tosh as usual from a pathetic so called fan who never researches anything and just makes up stories. I bet he supports Millwall
ReplyDeleteThis proves just how poorly the Fair Play Rules were established. We spend £15m on AC, which has to be amortized over 6 years, and we commit to around £4m a year to him in payroll. This amounts to some £6m to £7m annually which is a huge chunk of the £50m+/- that FPR allow us to spend.
ReplyDeleteAC could possibly be out for the whole season and, if we don't spend more than the FA allows us to, we can't bring in a new striker. If we do, then we risk a points deduction. Either way we could end up with certain relegation.
If we are relegated, we can expect a drop in attendance as well as other significant losses of income that, with our current payroll expense, will increase our operating deficit for the year.
Therefore, if AC is fit to play next year and assures us of promotion back to the Premiership, we will start our 2016/17 campaign with a substantial prior year operating loss and, consequently, less money to pay our players. We will probably end up with another points deduction and high probability that our first year in our new Olympic Stadium will see us relegated again.
This could end up with a snowball effect that dooms us - and other teams with less income than MU - unable to hire quality players and assured of a life outside the Premiership.
So where does "Fair Play" come into the equation? Only the handful of teams that get to play in Europe will be able to succeed under this rule and the rest of the Premiership will wish they were playing in the Championship anyway. It will be a never ending circus and no team outside the top handful will have the money or the opportunity to bring in high priced quality playing staff.
Have I missed something ??? I think, as a bare minimum, teams should not have the cost of injured players included in their operating expenses for the year. This FPR thing was supposed to benefit the lower teams in the Premiership but it could, quite possibly, have the opposite effect.
15.53 Its called sarcasm!
ReplyDelete16.15 I think Cole was fit and it was an excuse
Love the stupidity of people, how can they not get the irony and sarcasm that this was written in.
To those who grasped the message, it truly is amazing how stupid some people prove themselves to be! It is the ultimate IRONy that we are called the IRONS given the inability of so many of our fans to grasp what irony means. How can ANYBODY take that seriously.

ReplyDeleteHave you noticed Dale's Survey? you're mentioned fanny - I wonder how you'll do? tee hee hee
Y haven't you posted and answered my question about your prediction on how west ham will do this weekend? Win? Lose? Draw?
ReplyDeleteSpineless!
DeleteApparently only 6% distrust D&D on Dale's survey - that puts you in a very small minority fanny - makes you special needs.
ReplyDeleteI guess it explains why you don't get many visitors to your blog.
09:29 the answer is simple, pridictions take bottle and he ain't got none.
ReplyDeleteI reckon the saints will put 3 past w,ham tomorrow. Here's hoping.
ReplyDeleteApparently 100% of people visit Dales site and only 14% visit yours Mmmmmwwwaaaahhhhaaaahhhhhaaaaaaaa!!!!
ReplyDeleteDerr, the survey was conducted on Dale's site so 100% of those bothering to vote obviously visit his site! How else could they vote! Idiot!
ReplyDeleteI didn't vote, by the way, and I visit this site!
09.02 you're avoiding the issue, 14% is a bad turn out whichever way you choose to look at it!
ReplyDeleteNot at all. This blog is not popular amongst Dale's acolytes because it does not brown nose. Dale will lick the arse of the powers that be at every opportunity, he is a Tory after all, and part of the prawn sandwich brigade. This blog strives to tell it how it is, and that upsets the Three Monkeys Brigade that wear West Ham Til I Die as a badge of honour.
ReplyDeleteHow many readers of this blog regularly visit WHTID? You don't know and I don't know so it could be more or less than 14%. What would that prove? Nothing really.
It is a free country. You obviously choose to visit this site and Dale's site too and it is your right to do so. I very, very, very rarely visit Dale's site and that is my choice - I took issue when he used it as a platform for his political beliefs, encouraging his readers to support his bid to become the parliamentary candidate for Bracknall.
Both sites co exist and offer a choice to West Ham fans, something that Tory Boy Dale will be 100% in favour of, I am sure. The beauty of this choice is you don't even pay your money!
