Half Time Norwich 0 West Ham 1 - Exhibition football so far!

Well, for much of that first 45 minutes I thought I was watching a training game - or at most a pre season friendly. Our passing has been unnervingly precise, the movement has been wonderful, and with better luck and better finishing, we could be three goals ahead. Nolan has forced two saves from Ruddy, and really should have buried one of them, and Demel has hit the bar with a header from a corner. Meanwhile, Norwich have been chasing shadows and, when they have got the ball, have looked clueless. Hang on, this can't last, can it?

The goal was superb. Noble played a lovely pass inside the full back, Rat sent over a delicious cross, low and hard to the near post, Nolan tried to flick it home but when his effort was blocked, had the composure to retrieve the ball on the by-line, look up and pick out Morrison, who slid it into the gaping net.

To be honest, the biggest worry is that Norwich will press us higher in the second half and one of Tomkins, Collins, Noble, Collison, Morrison or Demel will be caught in possession. Dehlia's darlings might as well be hung for a mutton stew as for a lamb casserole after all, so worrying about gaps at the back may now be off the agenda.

Of course, this is all utterly surreal. An Allardyce team passing the opposition to death! Who would believe it? Fingers crossed the Canaries don't burst our bubbles second half!

  1. I predict we throw it away and lose 1-3.

  2. Only one explanation for that result.... We took a dive to save Hughton job.

  3. absolutely ridiculous second half. we looked lost, uninterested, and seemed as if players were just expecting each other to pick up their slack and carry the weight. Our striker issue has been well documented, Nolan doesn't fit the bill for that position and its embarrassing were still relying on Carlton Cole. BFS has to switch things up, the game plan is just not working at the moment and its so apparent that just pinging balls into the box from the wings without a target man/ men just does not work. Rarely have we seen players cutting inside from the wings, testing the defence and having a crack on goal. Switch it up Sam, or gtfo.

  5. Well, what a pity the Game is actually played over 90 minutes !
Losing to lowly Norwich would be the low point in season full of lows.
    Relegation certainties.

  8. So what happened? Did you uncross your fingers? Funny how west ham ended up "chasing shadows" isn't it? Especially for that 3rd goal, what a Fer-king cracker it was too. Don't hold out much hope for the hammers now that they've been soundly beaten in "Sams six pointer". Leeds won though.

  12. Where's part two, armchair? Couldn't bear to string the words together now relegation looms? Amazing how you dare to write so-called match reports without being at the ground. You're a pathetic loser.

  13. Did you say Noble? I thought you did. But of course it was before you saw the second half! He is too slow and makes pathetic mistakes. Cost us so many points, Everton, Norwich and so many I don't care to remember.

What a Hero. He will take us down to Championship. And of course he will stay with us simply because no other Premiership manager is fool enough to have him in his team. Pathetic! I mean really...

  14. This post is hilarious as is the lack of follow up to it and the lack of comments from the author on his favourite love and obsession - Leeds Utd. Good ol' Grass in the Snake, that's what I say! :-)
