Allardyce Laughs at West Ham Fans' Pain

As if the performance itself wasn't sickening enough, the sight of Allardyce laughing in the post match press conference really twisted the knife in the guts. When pressed on the unhappiness of the fans, Allardyce had the audacity to laugh and tell the journalist that he had just won him 150 quid by leading with that question.

Laugh? How dare he! Mock the fans who vented their understandable anger following a second thrashing in a week? That is beneath contempt.

In fact, the guy seemed to have no concept whatsoever of the pain that the shameful performance had generated. He was smugness personified as he said that West Ham "weren't the first team to be heavily beaten at Manchester City this season" and "wouldn't be the last". Well I will correct him there, because we go to the Etihad on the final day of the season, so I would put my mortgage on us being the last!

What was missing from the post match press conference? Try humility. Then add remorse. Then add empathy. Then add respect. Then add personal culpability. The fat bastard might as well have said on camera, "West Ham fans? I piss on them from a great height."

I have not called for his head until this week but enough is enough. The brash contempt with which he sweeps away all criticism is revolting. I felt betrayed on Sunday and I felt betrayed again yesterday by the players and by the man who is supposed to motivate them and organise them to perform.

I don't care if he is the best man to keep us up, I would rather go down rather than have this brazen, bludgeoning buffoon in charge of the club I love.

I didn't see his laugh as mirthful or mocking ...merely embarrassed - as he should be. There is no practical alternative given that we have a squad moulded to his purpose and the cost of firing him and his back room team would be prohibative.

  2. spot on I think the players can be given some reprieve when they look to the manager for inspiration and see a fat bloke slobbed out almost horizontal in the dug out. We have also passed halfway and now need three straight wins to be one point safe, and thats all we have managed all season. the board are backing him to be the first team to be relegated with fat sam, and I do think there hearts are in the right place shame about heads. Sunday is the last day to decide because cardiff went away and beat newcastle in a cup game. The reason thats the last day is any later and a new manager will only finish up with sams team and with the best will in the world and even a plan B a new manager will have a striker maybe returning soon but not good enough to outscore the opposition of a depleted defence.Last of my rant Davids please think sam has got us were we are in half a season with your full backing, only you now a both very unhappy fans and i think players too.

  3. I think this sums up how most of us feel. It's his attitude to us fans that is completely bewildering. How can anyone condone his behaviour. Bring Wally Downes back and make him Caretaker Manager, please.

  4. Kevin, you keep making excuses for the guy. I couldn't laugh post match. Bloody hell, I couldn't sleep! It's a good job I don't own a dog because I might have been tempted to kick it. His attitude stank, as it did through the game - the thing was one huge bloody pointless chore for him. Wembley? Cup Final? Couldn't give a toss!

  5. @Kevin in Manchester.

Are you telling me a squad containing Downing, Jarvis, Cole, Joe Cole, Collison, Noble, Carroll, Diame, Matt Taylor can only ply one way? Are you sure?

If so Carroll can only play one way,why was he so keen to stay at Liverpool with the way they played, why did he score so many for Newcastle when they dont play launch football? Carlton Cole played probably the best football of his life under Zola, sometimes unplayable. Matt Taylor/Noble/Collison cant pass side ways and show some movement? They can only launch forward? Downing has no skill whatsoever, thats why Rogers wanted him to stay and said it was not is choice he went, he had just started to show something there I thought.

This side could play some really good football be given half the chance but with someone playing football from the dark ages it is made 10 times harder.

As much as I dont want to see it, and hope I never do, Redknapp, for example, would get West Ham playing far far better. He would get the ball down, play 2 up front, and try and win the game, rather than not lose it.

  6. I've come over here from my QPR pages to see what you are saying now that your club is being laughed at by everyone, have to say it is so amusing. It is nice that you have left us alone now that you are in the sh!t, maybe you can do an article on Harry not wanting to touch you with a barge pole one big Sam gets sacked. Enjoy the rest of your season, I quite like West Ham but am so glad this is happening to you Hammersfan.

  7. What right have you got to accuse others of lacking empathy, remorse, humility, respect etc? You have continually abused and incited supporters of other clubs with blogs filled with bigotry (both racial and regional) and spiteful nasty vendettas against people who you have percieved as doing your team a bad turn. I am enjoying every moment of your downfall as it has been long overdue. We have wished it upon you and the more fat baldy cockneys rubbing their eyes at the sight of another w,ham thrashing the better. Can't wait for the 2nd leg.

Am I making excuses? It is possible I am because I simply do not want to believe what I am seeing, sure, but I really do believe than any manager at a club of our resources would have struggled with the injury list. Yes, we can argue about his culpability on not having cover at the back and certainly up front. The man does have giant self regard I genuinely do not think he was happy last night at the performance- who could be- and cared because it was him that was going to get all the flak.. so no I still maintain it was embarrassed laughter.

You may be right too AppyAmmer but I just think asking a new man of the calibre that we are likely to attract to rebuild and move forward all in the space of three weeks would be too much to ask right now.We know when he has a fully fit squad we are better than this and I think it is the best chance we have to scrape to survival.

  11. The one good thing that may come of this is that management may see the significance in approaching the market for defense. Demel and Obrien were a weakness last year and we did nothing to fix it accept offer Joey a new contract. McCartney? I can't believe he is considered a pro. The fact that we pay him to sit on the bench let alone play is mind boggling, he may be, at best league 2 quality.

Lastly we sign Johnson on a loan to verify us going down. The guy is 3 for 3 and is trying to make it 4 for 4.

  12. Didn't I and other supporters of that fine club that is Leeds United warn you about george mccartney? We told you he was shite the very day he arrived at the bowling ground. I will give you another warning for free, andy caroll will not save you now. He will play 5 games maximum.

  13. Don't worry, Tottenham will send you down before the Man City game thus making any score in that game irrelevant.

  14. Aah,aren't you posting any comments that take the piss out of the Titwanks anymore? Or are you waiting to see if they can get something at Cardiff before you post my comment predicting another defeat and another injury for caroll?
