Collins Throws A Spanner In The Works

The best laid plans of mice and men and all that! Is it really any surprise that Stoke City cannot match the pay deals tarted around by Turds, Egg and Duxbury? This trio turned the club into the footballing equivalent of a millionaire's brothel and now we cannot offload our over priced tarts. Quashie, Davenport, Faubert, Neill, Collins - yes they can do a job but why would you pay Damien Hirsh his going rate to emulsion your lounge in B&Q Value Magnolia?

The absolute madness of the Turds, Duxbury and Egg interregnum is now coming home to roost. Two of the three have rightly lost their jobs. Why is Duxbury still there I wonder? Media management perhaps?

I looked him up and I think he collects butterflies or something! lol

Just read that our improved bid for Chamkha has no bearing on the Ginge sale!

  3. Did Collins renegotiate his contract under Curbs then?
    Over paid tarts?
Surely this doesn't apply to Collins as he was instrumental for us in the Great Escape and has been pretty solid, albeit injured a lot, for us. But then you could say that he has contributed more than Gabbidon...
Whilst Collins is the most salable after Upson it will still be a shame to lose him when you consider what is left to shift.
From what I know the guy is very happy at the club and doesn't want to leave - particularly not for some derisory offer from a lower standard team.
If your employer said take a pay cut and move to Stoke I'm sure you'd refuse too.
Who knows Pulis might come back with what he wants?
It is a negotiation after all.

  4. 0930, I agree with most of that. Yes Collins did get a new contract - they all did. I don't want to lose Collins. The point I am making is that we set salary scales with no thought about the implications of how to move the players on if we no longer wanted them. How much has Boa cost the club since his decision not to join Hull? The amount is frightening for what we have got in return. The same applies to Quashie. I agree that Collins is not as good an example. Think of him as the thin end of the wedge!
