Clarke Commences The Humane Slaughter Of Zola
Anybody remember how Redknapp knifed his old mate Billy Bonds in the back to become West Ham's boss? Well it looks like Clarke has been reading through his West Ham history books and is plotting his own coup d'etat.
How else can you interpret his comments following the disasterous performance yesterday? Clarke pretended that he was supporting his manager and friend by saying, "If there are any faults, if anyone's looking to blame, they'll have to blame me" but what should we make of the following: "I'm the guy they brought in to help Gianfranco. He's the novice manager, just in the game but if anyone wants to point fingers, point them at me."
Great! With friends like that, who needs enemies? Put that through a "strip out the palliative bullshit machine" and it comes out as, "We are in a bloody mess and the manager doesn't have the experience to get us out of it. In a crisis like this you need experience, not a smiling fool who is everybody's best friend, including mine!"
If Zola has had dreams of falling comets and players burning on the pitch, he should listen to the soothsayer before next going into the Boardroom. "Beware the Ides Of March" is probably giving him more time than he actually has. Zola looked like a lost soul last night, staring heavenward as Dyer disappeared down the tunnel after just 20 minutes. He feels the gods are against him but, as Caesar discovered, he needs to look much closer to home for the main threat to his job.
As an Italian, Zola should have no difficulty in mastering the Latin. "Et tu Clarkie? Then fall Zola!"
lol......that struck me too when CLARKE come out with that statement. He's portrayed ZOLA as a bit of a spare part ,that needs his oversight. That after match interview,CLARKE looked like he had just run a marathon,he looked knackered.Poor bloke,if thats what WESTHAM is doing to him,he should get out while he still has his health.
ReplyDeleteYh I also saw Zola look to the sky, however I thought it may have been a bird that shat on Dyers thigh.
ReplyDeleteSeriously though I am bored of the comments coming from the club, they beat themselves up but the fans and players do not care. I would rather the management stop talking to press and give the players a good going over.
Premiership rules that the management have to talk to the press post match. Interesting that it was Clarke and not Zola. Gianfranco looked close to tears at the end of the game. I think reality has just caught up with him. He is out of his depth and he knows it.
ReplyDeleteI would welcome it,
ReplyDeleteCould not possibly be worst than we are at the moment.
I think he is the man to instill some fight into our play.
But the flip slip to this coin would be very defence minded play,
which in my mind is not a bad thing.
