Sullivan Signals Grant's Sacking at Season's Close

So Avram is for the chop at the end of the season, irrespective of whether or not we survive. In fact, his best chance of holding on to his job would probably be for us to go down. Like that, the club might not be able to afford to pay him off!

How else can you interpret Sullivan's explanation of why Grant wasn't sacked? Bruiser told the Press, “Changing managers mid-season doesn’t usually work". What a ringing endorsement that is! He might as well have said, "The guy's a useless cnut but when you're in mid shag, you stay with the cnut you've got!"

Mind you, changing managers at the end of the season has a proven track record of success. Look how we have progressed since replacing Zola!

I love the way he distances himself from Avram in 'subtle' ways. How about,  “Avram is very optimistic we’ll stay up and we hope things will improve in the league here." Look at the contrast between "very optimistic" and "hope"! You can bet your life that the "we" does not include Grant!

As votes of confidences go, this one is up right there with Leon Trotsky's ice pick tribute from old mucker Stalin! Well, Sulli has the hat so what should Avram expect? And Trotsky was Jewish too remember!

Come to think of it, if I was Gold, I would have 24 hour police protection at my hospital bed side just in case! Remember that scene in the Godfather?

  1. Stalin and Trotsky both had pseudonyms; Stalin means "man of of steal". Perhaps Sullivan means "man of iron"? Or perhaps it means "UNTRUSTWORTHY CLASSLESS GOBSHITE"!

  3. Let's hope Gold's illness isn't life threatening - otherwise Sullivan is in sole charge!!!

  4. I hope that is not the only reason you wish Gold gets well soon.

  5. It's only right to replace him.

Check Pennant's corner out HF. Brom losing. Good for us.

  6. IF we do escape this mess - and it is still a huge IF, let no one forget the months of misery we have endured at the hands of the charisma amd man management vacuum that is Average Grunt. He should have gone at Christmas.

  7. Too bad we scared any manager off with that mid season torcher of grant. Sulli Gold combo should just take over as managers, maybe they'll learn something and sack themselves from the club!

  11. am reckoning the team are managing themselves ,at least taking responsibility for wearing the shirt..sod all the politics ,stadiums owners ,we scored 8 in a week, and took Liverpool,if only it had been anfield, thats a once in a lifetime event however that I still await.
I still think we have as much chance of staying up as anyone else, maybe more with Hitz doing all I had hoiped when we signed him,he has brought some calm to it all ,simple passes, keeps possesion and Bang,he should be our set piece man without a doubt.
keep the belief you irons ,and if there is a god let etherington have a mare.and us have a clean sheet..as if

  12. Some good points northbank.

Etherington didnt even make the starting line up yesterday against Brom. Dont know if he was coming back from injury or just dropped.

We need to stop Pennant delivering and play for Huth's fouls. The guy gets away with murder every game. Filthy bar steward.
