Academy Star Vose Career At Risk

Would you believe it? Dominic Vose was scheduled to be the next off the Academy conveyor belt, a future star of the Premiership. But now a promising career is in serious danger of being nipped in the bud. Why? Because he has been arrested for the suspected rape of a 16 year old at a party.

I know we will hear the usual, that there's two sides to every story, that he hasn't had his day in court, blah, blah, blah but it doesn't bode well does it? Have you ever been arrested for suspected rape? I certainly haven't! I sincerely hope the boy is innocent. I sincerely hope the girl hasn't been raped. I do wonder about the "justice" of this being reported in the press ahead of a trial. But if he has done it, well he deserves everything he gets doesn't he? Just imagine the girl was your daughter or sister.

You have to wonder if Vose has been cleaning da Costa's boots and picking up a few tips. The serious point here is that if the Senior players are allowed to set such an appalling example, is it any wonder if the kids go astray?

Further evidence, I'm afraid, that the club is a complete and utter mess.

I sincerely hope his career isn't over before its begun, just because of this. For a start, we all know NO details of the event itself, or even whats going to happen. Obviously there should never be suspicion of rape in the first place, but for his, and West Ham's sake, it turns out to be a bust and he's cleared of everything. Plus there's only ever been good things said about him, playing-wise, and we need strong midfield prospects for the future, as it's only a matter of time until we're in need of a new centre mid.

I agree with all you say except for "just because of this". If he has sexually assaulted a girl then his career should be over. Hopefully he hasn't!

Da Costa, Rooney's cheating, John Terry and his affair, Lamps, Rio and Dyer's sex tape ...maybe he just wanted to be part of the gang. Why didn't he just talk to our manager? He would have taken him to one of those places and satisfied his frustrations.

As with many rape cases, he'll probably be let off even if he did it as proving the absence of consent is very difficult.

HF, while I agree the club is an absolute shambles I actually don't see this as a sign of that. We pay such close attention to everything that goes on at WHUFC it's hard not to magnify. That isn't to say anything remotely close to this is acceptable. If guilty, no more football FOREVER in my book. Go work in women's shelter for 10 years.

My point is if a youth member of Doncaster was accused of a crime we'd likely not hear about it.

Best to get all of the rapeing out of the way before he signs his senior contract if you ask me.

In all seriousness this is atrocious behavior but not unexpected. Football is rewarding young men to such a great extent they feel they can treat the rest of their peer group like chattle.

If we as a society started rewarding budding entrepreneurs, doctors, teachers and the like with more dignified pay their wouldnt be this discrepancy.

if he did do it then he is scum and should be kicked out of football for good. the reason im saying that is because no one should be given a second chance after doing something like that. that girl will never get another chance and will have to live with that for the rest of her life.
