Bloody hell, the opening round of results are a cause for concern. Blackpool, Leicester and Southampton have all thrown down the gauntlet in a major way. Three points away to Hull and Coventry represent a great start for the Tangerine Dreamers and Sven's Also Walkers, whilst Southampton trounced Leeds. Why didn't I pick Lallana in my fantasy team? I knew the lad was good and he certainly impressed today. Meanwhile, Ipswich have possibly emerged as dark tractors with that surprise victory over their yokel second cousins.
Early season form can be misleading, of course, but there are a few teams in this division who can play football. To finish on top of this pile we are going to have to have our wits about us - and the squad definitely has to be strengthened.
Leicester now have two consecutive winnable home games. If we don't win tomorrow, they could be comfortably ahead of us before the end of August. Psychologically, tomorrow is huge and I have a nagging worry that 60 minutes into the game we will be a goal down and long balls will be pumped forward to the accompaniment of howls of derision from the crowd. Blackpool and Southampton proved today that you can play your way to victory in this division; I hope Doctor Evil took note!
I suppose this is why you have never been succesful in life and others have
ReplyDeleteLOL, I suppose that depends on your definition of "successful". We are favourites or second favourites to win the division. That makes us the Chelsea or Man Utd in this division. Cardiff are probably fancied to finish in the top 10 so that makes them the equivalent of...let's say Bolton. I think Man Utd and Chelsea would see that as a must win game in order to win the title. The trouble with you, sir, is that you think small. If we are genuine title contenders, this is a must win game!
ReplyDeleteAnd why do I have that nagging doubt? Because Allardyce shares it. He is worried that there is not a winning mentality in the club - and that includes the fans. You are part of that problem. If we don't win, you will make excuses and talk about supporting the club come what may.
Forget "plucky West Ham", we are the giants of this division and have to make that statement tomorrow. If we stutter on the starting line, the play offs is the best we can hope for. Quote this if I am wrong come the end of the season!
heres the lineup i want us to play tommorow.
ReplyDeletecole
barrera
collison nolan noble stanislas
taylor tomkins faye o'brien
green
I think for this game its crucial we play collison, noble and nolan over parker. I also thunk that team is good enough form mid table prem.
Also a comment to sav if hes reading this.stop banging on about how many ex bolton players we have singed as its getting old and boring and also matty taylor never played under allardyce so its only 4 not 5
Fred, why do you keep naming sides the wrong way round? You start with the keeper and work forward as a rule!
ReplyDeletewell i dont name my teams the wrong way round i name them in the way you see them on match day on the tv which is goalkeeper at the bottom
ReplyDeleteThat's a decent line up Fred except I would dump that piece of shit Cole for big John. Still, I think we will get beaten because that's what we do do best!
ReplyDeleteWhy, did you think Fred put Cole in Goal HF? :)
ReplyDeleteFred, stop confusing HF!
You 22:55 have always been a huge part of the problem, your negativity knows no bounds.
ReplyDeleteWell you certainly lived down to your own low expectations! As for Blackpool as a Hull City fan I didnt see anything in particular to fear even though we lost. If Fryatt had been anything like on form it would have been 3-1. By all accounts Leicester were fortunate as well so I wouldnt kill yourselves yet
