So hot on the heels of Zavon Hines, Junior Stanislas has hopped onto a train and headed for the dark satanic mills of Lancashire to ply his trade at little old Burnley. What is the attraction? Perhaps it is the lure of the Claret and Blue shirts, perhaps they both cherish hopes of becoming the black Ralph Coates or perhaps Burnley are just trying to stock up on 57 Hammer varieties.
Will we miss Stanislas any more than we will miss Hines? Whereas my money is on Hines dropping through the divisions, I fancy that Junior has a little more about him. Where Zavon has ego, ability and attitude problems, Junior has the ability so is only wanting in the mental department. I reckon he will develop into a goodish Championship player, much like Eagles, but will never be good enough for the Premiership - even if he starts playing on the right where he belongs.
But signing players unfit for the Prem won't worry Burnley will it?
welcome back
ReplyDeleteSo....parker's gone...
and the dildo boys got what they wanted...us relegated the wage bill stripped a manager that would not have been excepted in the prem, but now warmly welcomed and a solid squad (BETTER THAN THE ONE RELEGATED !!! ) in place to gain promotion
My ONLY concern with our team is in defense, o'brien looked very poor at forest playing people on side constantly, on the positive linda made the right side and area you stopped looking at.
Some really positive signing have come in during the last few days for me, and importantly Green has gone nowhere (HF i know you will no agree but i think green is an excellent keeper)
We now have some really good options (and 4-4-2 will be used) looking forward to the pompie game !!
COYI's
You are back! How was your trip on the Nile?
ReplyDeleteI find the sale of Stanislas last night hard to understand. Junior was perhaps one of the very few youngsters we had with pace, talent and promise. After his good performance in the Aldrshot horror show I thought he would be the last one leaving us in this transfer window.
My guess is that Sam wanted to buy Demel and the only saleable asset we had to finance that deal was Stanislas.
What would you be commenting about now that Parker has finally gone? A Greek poet (Kavafis I think) wrote, after the Greeks have defeated the enemy, "what would be become of us without barbarians...". Well, what would become of you HF without, Scott Parker?
It was great thanks Sav. I found Mido, as I will report, and the curse has been removed. It is onwards and upwards from here! Aldershot was the nadir!
ReplyDeleteAs for Parker, this blog will report on his fortunes on a regular basis! (Funny the way the word "fortunes" is triggered by the name Parker!) How long before he is benched at Spurs? Joined a big club? Did he watch the 5-1 thrashing by Man City? Do Spurs have a forward line?
