Bring back Warnock! Sack him and what happens? QPR slip into the bottom three for the first time since the opening day thumping against relegation rivals Bolton Walkabouts.
The gRs will tell us that it will all be OK when Tevez, Alex, Johnson, Pienaar, Samba and co join, but who will believe in the Fernandes revolution when the Hoops are in the bottom three, up to their noses in the Bush?
This morning gRs were telling me that Alex had already signed, but now it transpires that Fernandes still hasn't matched Chelsea's modest asking price for the much needed centre back. Why for pity's sake? QPR's situation is desperate and AVB is just as desperate to off load the moody Brazilian. So if Fernandes has so much money and is so committed to keeping QPR up, why is he quibbling over the odd million? Surely it would have been better to meet the asking price on Wednesday, complete the signing and have Alex in the team at Newcastle on Sunday?
And doesn't the same apply to Johnson? Again, why did Fulham term the figure offered "derisory"? So derisory in fact that Jol said he would rather give away the former Toffee at the end of the season than part with him at the figure QPR were offering!
But Fernandes is ready to splash the cash isn't he? QPR are a big club now aren't they? So what the hell is going on?
You tell me gRs. Ever since I started flagging that Fernandes was not all he was claiming to be, you guys have been calling me an idiot. I have said I will admit to being wrong if anything more than £5m and moths comes out of the Malaysian's wallet before the end of January, but thus far, all we have heard is intent - and intent means nothing if nothing materialises.
But why would Hughes take the job if there isn't a transfer war chest? Well it's his way back into management and he can always walk away in May claiming Fernandes did not keep his promises. What did he say when he walked out on Fulham?
Although I think you clearly were 'wronged' in some way by a Rangers fan in the past I do however tend to agree on this matter as I also have concerns with our Tone!!!
ReplyDeleteSurely the odd milion here and there is nothing in comparison to the reward for staying up.
I have already decided in not renewing my season ticket next year (after 14 years since leaving the Army) as I have lost confidents in everyone associated with my club. ( well, we'll see if we stay up!!!!)
Keep the faith mate. It is a crap division. Hughes is a decent manager. You may stay up in spite of Tony!
ReplyDeleteWhat gets me is why don't you like QPR. Why not slag off some other team!! By the way what have WHU acceived lately. Oh yes relegation!!
ReplyDeleteIt's not about liking or disliking is it? 2005 agrees with me and he is a Rangers fan. Why didn't Fernandes match Chelsea's asking price and recruit Alex for the Newcastle game?
ReplyDeleteFOAD
ReplyDeleteYou really dont know how the January transfer window works, do you? On deadline day you will once again be wishing you was a QPR fan. Definitly spending more than five mill but wouldnt expect us to spend like chelsea etc.... you have to build from the bottom , cant run before you can walk... i love being a QPR fan have never been this excited in a football year like this before... oh yeah when last have west ham been in the papers... get with the times fella ha ha ha....... you r's!!!!!!
ReplyDeletethe second anonymous is not from me on the first one!!
ReplyDeleteI honestly don't care how much we spend in the transfer window. We have been linked with every name under the sun all i care about is the players we do get in put 100% every game doesn't matter if there proven or from the conference or we stay up or go down QPR has always been a club i support through thick and thin as long as they give 100% im happy and if they happen to be amazing that's a bonus :-)
ReplyDeleteYou really don't know how the Premiership works do you? You have a six pointer coming up against Wigan. You should have your recruits in place now, not at the end of January!
ReplyDeleteGood on you 2021.
ReplyDeletefair point about wigan but we are talking about wigan!.... our team is better than three teams in this league....... Henrique watch this space brasil kid coming to the r's
ReplyDeleteNot long ago u were banging on about us spending to much money on average players with massive wages now your bleeting on about us not paying what they want 4million for some one that's going to rot in the reserves sounds pretty good to me son I would rather sign no one than panic bye a load shite still think mark will keep us up with the squad we have will be tight though u do no football fella so I'm not going to hurl abuse at u but how about some positive comments if land a few targets
ReplyDeleteWe have to wait for Chelsea to recruit Cahil before we can have Alex. Chelsea are quite rightly putting themselves first.
ReplyDeleteCahil has come down to London for his medical so we won't have to wait long.
A young Brazilian, playing in bleak mid winter in England against kick them up in the air as a welcome defenders! Dear God, it took Tevez five months to settle in the Prem and he was an experienced international player, not a promising kid! Didn't Miserablebrough go down with a brilliant young Brazilian in the team? He was called Juninho wasn't he?
ReplyDeleteErm, when have I EVER accused Fernandes of spending too much!
ReplyDeleteI think some of us QPR supporters need a bit of a reality check. We may have been linked with every player who is slightly upset with something or contract expires in the summer but all im reading is that every bid we have put in (if we have if AVB is to be believed)has been turned down so clearly the purse strings are still very much tied. We need a good 4 or 5 players of a much higher standard than we have at present and the longer we haggle over the odd million here and there the more likely other teams will get the player and we'll end up with the dross thats left with a few days to the window closing...AGAIN.
ReplyDeleteSpot on 2048.
ReplyDeleteWhat ever offer you make the selling club will hold out for more thats how business works.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your porn king owner, multi million pound debts and the move to an athletics stadium
Do you really think Chelsea are that worried about the odd million providing you match what they can get from other clubs? In yyour situation you say, "How much?" They say £5m and you say, fine. But only if the deal is done in time for him to play against Newcastle.
ReplyDeleteActually 2053, how much is Alex on at Chelsea? £100k per week? Sell him at the start of January rather than the end and it is worth £500k in saved wages! AVB wants him out as he is undermining him. If Fernandes was truly serious, and Alex was really interested in joining you, he would be travelling with the team for the Newcastle game.
ReplyDeleteValid point of course with 'how business works'. Of course this goes on but we haven't got the time to try and save the odd £1m hear and there (I cant believe I'm even saying that but a million in football is nothing these days)
ReplyDeleteClubs would have been looking in to deals long before January to get a feel for prices etc and lets be honest no one new has been mentioned since Hughes came in so he was probably asked his opinion on players before Warnock left.
And as mentioned we need points now not in 2 weeks. He needs to loosen his money belt and get some of this alledged £20 - £30m. Lets be honest its not from his pocket as hardly any of the promotion money has been spent
We will stay up with the squad we have wether samba comes to us or not Blackburn will lose him and junior then there gone Bolton and Wigan same have faith u rangers hf your neck must hurt from all that long ball crap u watch have fun sniffing your grannys pants u test
ReplyDeleteCome back to the org mate
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed this debate. You get alot of stick about your obvious QPR issues but al in all I think you raise some decent points for discussion.
ReplyDeleteWhat did happen to you in the past though????
To be honest mate, I went to Loftus Road to watch you beat Carlisle 2-0 (when Carlisle were top of the old First Division) on the 16th of November 1974 and I have had a soft spot for QPR ever since. Mind you, West Ham thumped Wolves 5-2 that day and I was outvoted on which game we should go to, so maybe that has left a reservoir of bitterness. But I genuinely want the Hoops to stay up; I'm just giving my honest opinion!
ReplyDeleteId still rather have owners with a buisness brain looking at the debts floating around at certain clubs. But i do agree if we are here next week and we have made no signings alarm bells will be ringing
ReplyDeleteI'm going to presume the other voters were Rangers and therefore I understand their vote but if neutral QPRvCarlisle or WHUvWolves???? I understand your pain
ReplyDeleteThey were romantics, Carlisle were newwly promoted and the ultimate minnows. I said it was a bad choice - a very bad choice - and I was proved right. I should have ignored the vote and taken myself to Upton Park but the rest of the party were West Country bumpkins and didn't know how to negotiate the tube. We were upp from Yeovil for a Pink Floyd concert if I remember correctly. Or maybe it was Bowie.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe some of you lot are complaining; We have already spent a lot(by our standards)and I know that there will be more this month.... That along with a few decent loan signings and a much higher wage structure - we most definitely wouldnt have got all that with the two tight muppets in charge. These are exciting times despite our position...Hughes will sort it out-even Warnock said he was jeolous of what he's inherited-
ReplyDeleteA rough diamond that just needs a little polishing.
Hf,got to agree with you on getting players in for the 6pointer with Wigan, this is a first me actually agreeing with hf.better sit down with a cold beer!!!
ReplyDeleteSorry Mark. Enjoy the beer. I'm two thirds of the way through a bottle of red!
ReplyDeleteThe point you seem to be missing is where have you seen him claim the Alex deal was done, where did you hear HIM say there was 20m to spend
ReplyDeleteyour saying he isnt all he is cracked up to be, but your taking clearly made up news stories and pretending TF has said them
I dont care what he spends in January because alot of the cost is wages
I also love how you can claim to like rangers, but you write your articles in such a derogatory fashion its really very hard to believe that is true.

QPR have just signed ALEX, makes your blog laughable now.muppet!
14 January 2012 11:03
and that random person posting on your blog is Tony Fernandez???
ReplyDeleteLOL wouldn't it be great if it was? Too busy twattering to contribute on here!
ReplyDelete'Already spent alot by our standards' is absolutely correct due to the even tighter previous muppets. We probably wouldn't be in the bottom 3 if Warnock had have been given some money in the Summer.
ReplyDeleteTony F comes in and says all the right things but I am yet to see any real substance to all the alledged ambition. We got Manchini (is that spelt right?) but honestly is he that good? If he was SAF would not have let him go. 2 weeks is a long time in football and we have signed nothing and in that two weeks we have scrapped a draw with MK Dons and lost to Norwich AT HOME.
January is not the best time to get players as it is so you need to be quick to get the best of the players available or put in a bid that cant be refused. We are not doing either and every game that passes us by is another nail in the coffin. Lets be honest we are unlikely to get 3 points at Stadium of 'Sports Direct' so we are then firmly in the bottom 3
i only read the first paragraph cos i don't see the point in reading anymore of your constant bitter posts. focus on your own team, well done on the away win today, i hope you get promoted. stop hating on the r's.
ReplyDeleteI was at the Wolves game HF those were the days
