The Window's Open But...

OK, it is a bank holiday and we probably can't register new signings yet, but after the early rumours, it has suddenly gone very quiet on who we might sign. Time and again this happens of course. All the excitement in the run up to the window and then nothing happens ...until just before the window slams shut when there is a mad rush. Look at Spurs. By delaying the signing of Parker in August, they may miss out on the title!

Why? It is all so illogical. If you need players in January, you need them at the start of the month, not at the end. Every game counts. Where is the logic in slogging through a whole month with an inadequate squad, throwing away crucial points game after game? And what sense is there in holding on to players that you don't want in the case of the selling clubs?

Our need is desperate. We desperately need a new centre back and midfielders with pace. But when will we get them? If ever!

Anything less than three points against Coventry and we will find ourselves in the doldrums with a capital D. Typically, the Sky Blues arrive on the back of two consecutive wins - their best form of the season so far. Sod's Law says they will add their first away victory to that mini run tomorrow.

  2. Big Sam has already said he wants any new players in at the start of the New Year. Let's give him a chance. It's only January 2nd.

  3. HF give someone a chance? why would he give up the opportunity to have a good moan? even though business is done like by all teams, he wants to enjoy himself by complaining.... be fair it's the only thing he does with any conviction.
