Where now for Freddie Sears? The arrival of Vaz Te, Maynard and Morrison has reduced his chances of playing again this season to virtually zero. With Allardyce unable to find a place for a keeper on the bench - even when Lansbury isn't getting splinters in his arse - poor Freddie doesn't stand much chance of appearing as a sub, never mind of starting.
Presumably attempts were made to offload him in the window, but like so many, he was awarded an inflated contract under Duxbury. Now he either takes a massive wage cut or rots in the reserves.
It's odd the way his career just goes further and further into reverse. When we were in the Prem , Freddie was deemed good enough for the Championship. True he couldn't score - although how damaging that disallowed goal for Palace has proved we will never know - but he was considered worthy of starting. Now, even the Championship seems above him. He looks all at sea every time he plays, a player short of confidence and sadly low on ability.
Will anybody take him on loan? Let's hope so. Maybe a couple of months in the bottom division, banging in goals, would rehabilitate him. But at the moment, he might as well be a snowman for all he offers when on the pitch.
Sad. Very sad.
Sears needs to realise he won't make the step up any time soon so maybe dropping down a division will do him some good
ReplyDeletePerhaps Crawley Town can loan him, after losing Tubbs to Bournemouth in the transfer window.
ReplyDeleteI like your pic HF, is that a freezesome?...... I'll get my coat
ReplyDeleteHe can move and take a cut in pay if playing and developing to a higher level is important to him.
ReplyDeleteIf the money he is making now is more important then it is his own decision to "rot in the reserves".
Very good Paul! I wouldn't mind them playing with my snowballs I must confess.
ReplyDeleteFreddies not up to it, hes had his chance this year, never trained on im afraid.
ReplyDeleteYou attention seeking mentally ill numpty.
ReplyDelete19:57 always the lowest common denominator - your parents must have been so proud.
ReplyDeleteWe have strong links with Dag and Red....maybe with them struggling, palm them off Sears for a month or two loan to get the best out of him
