Never Mind the Strikers, Allardyce Can't Find The Target Either!
After the game Allardyce complained, 'We shot ourselves in the foot.' And there we all were, hoping he would point the bloody gun at his big headed temple!
I didn't expect the truce would last long HF, but that's fair enough :) There was less traffic whilst you calmed down but also some proper debate so let's keep it going.
Can I ask those calling for his head now-
1) What do you really want? 2) How do you achieve it? 3) How quickly do you think your wishes can be achieved?
For example- do you really want him out now before the season's end. If so, don't just say yes- cos it's not that simple- what realistic plan would you want the Daves to have in place for this to work.
If you do want him out please say who you think is available that you could realistically bring in immediately? If your answer is someone like Di Canio say how long you think it would take, bearing in mind Swindon would hold it up/ resist that idea for as long as possible as they themselves have the little matter of a promotion campaign to concentrate on.
If we get someone do you honestly expect them to have an instant impact cos that's what will be required- the season is over by the end of May at the latest?
How do you think Allardyce's players will react to a new man's methods in just weeks? If it's positively how long do you think it'll take to take those methods to work cos time is of the essence?
What sensible, competent manager would want to come knowing we'd have lost three mangers in three years if Allardyce goes? What rational man would want to come to a club who's fans played into Reading's hands by singing ''you're getting sacked in the morning'' to our manager of 9 months?
Seriously- if you want to ditch the manager at this late stage of the season you need to have the answers to all of these questions and more because this is not Roy of the Rover where new managers take 2 minutes to sort everything out and win promotion.
