Get real! Replace Allardyce with who? Roy of the Rovers?

(Contributed by Anony-Mouse)

Can I ask those calling for Allardyce's head now:

1) What do you really want?
2) How do you achieve it?
3) How quickly do you think your wishes can be achieved?

For example- do you really want him out now before the season's end. If so, don't just say yes- cos it's not that simple- what realistic plan would you want the Daves to have in place for this to work? If you do want him out, please say who you think is available that you could realistically bring in immediately? If your answer is someone like Di Canio say how long you think it would take, bearing in mind Swindon would hold it up / resist that idea for as long as possible as they themselves have the little matter of a promotion campaign to concentrate on.

If we get someone do you honestly expect them to have an instant impact cos that's what will be required- the season is over by the end of May at the latest? How do you think Allardyce's players will react to a new man's methods in just weeks? If it's positivitity, how long do you think it'll take to take those methods to work cos time is of the essence?

What sensible, competent manager would want to come knowing we'd have lost three mangers in three years if Allardyce goes? What rational man would want to come to a club who's fans played into Reading's hands by singing ''You're getting sacked in the morning'' to our manager of nine months?

Seriously- if you want to ditch the manager at this late stage of the season you need to have the answers to all of these questions and more because this is not Roy of the Rover where new managers take two minutes to sort everything out and win promotion.

  2. They can't afford to sack him, will cost to much.

Sam will go at the end of the season once he fails.

    In answer to your question who, this is my opinion;

Manager - Mick McCarthy (remember what league we are in, your not getting Martin o'neil or the likes ! )

    the team ;

    Sold -

1 - Green (released, massive shame imo, but hey thats the cost of BFS)
    2 - Kevin Nolan
    3 - Noble
    4 - Carew (released)
    5 - Faubert (released)
6 - Tomkins (if we can't balance the books without)
    7 - Cole

    first 11

    ........................... henderson

    O'brian..........Faye..................Reid..............Taylor

    O'neil............Collison.............Mossison.......Vaz Te

    .....................Maynard............Baldock

    Subs

    potts (defence)
    Spence (defence)
    Demel (defence)
    Callum Driver (defence)

    Diop (midfield)
    Olly lee (midfield)
    George Moncur (midfield)
    Cristain Montano (midfield / striker)

Not all 7 listed sold above will go (as some will not be wanted by perm teams)

Add some loan signings (like danny collins on a full season loan) and that team is good enough for this shit league.

NOW SACK THAT FAT PRICK AT THE EARLIEST POSSIBILITY.

  3. Noble needs to be tied down to a new three year contract

  4. If you were at the match yesterday you would have heard Reading fans singing to BFS "Your getting sacked in the morning."

Thet also chanted Paolo Di Canio, in an attempt to wind us up. They warned they were going to.

For once the Hammers fans created a great atmosphere perhaps in response to some good football (at least in the first half).

  5. beezebub i agree with most of what you said except instead of mick mcCarthy steve bruce for the rest of the season as a trial period that we can hope turns into promotion second choice would be mcCarthy he played good football when he was at millwall
i keep hearing people saying weve blown promotion and will atleast go to wembley well with fat man i cant see our team even getting to wembley the team seem to be on a massive downer ive no doubt fat man will have all his excuses ready for when we get knocked out at the semi final stage he should fcuk off now and take ronald mcdonald with him
instant impact managers ??? john lyall 1974 august/september 20 goals in four games and martin oneil done ok at sunderland this season i think with our fans and we do have some decent players a change now could save our season

  6. As usual, posts by the likes of anouny mouse are obviously from supporters? that don't actually attend matches.Like the man said,di canio and your getting sacked chants were from reading supporters and in my opinion the team would do just as well without a manager or I'm available

  7. Mouse - I think you must be spending far too much time on this site. Don't let HF's negativity get to you.

The majority of fans were behind the team yesterday and it was a good atmosphere.

We might not like Sam's style but he was bought in to sort out a mess. Remember HF was flying the flag for Grant last year. BS is much more organised and his job was to do what ever it takes to get us back in the Premier league.

We are of course all down after the result yesterday but with 6 games and 18 points at stake we are still in with a chance. Who knows we might make up the points on the top two but at worst BS will get us into the play offs so there is still hope. Absolutely no point changing the manager now.
No doubt we will take stock of the manager and the playing squad at the end of the season when we know whether BS has got us over the finishing line.

  9. Anony-mouse says,

Whugo- I wholeheartedly agree with everything you say, including our comments about Allardyce. And whilst HF can be a tad negative :) I still think we have a chance. Automatic promotion is not impossible but it is certainly going to be tougher now. We'd have as good a chance as anyone in the play-offs so I'm not utterly disheartened by any means.

BubblesBlindMan- I don't go to games? Granted, for different reasons I don't go to as many games as I used to but still manage 10-12 per season. I've been to about a thousand games over the years- that should be enough for you to not put a question mark after the word supporter in relation to me.

I saw Trev get the winner in 1980, the league cup final the following year. I've followed us to Bucharest, was there when Tevez kept us up at OT, was part of the first crowd in Hillsborough after the tragedy (we won two nil), I saw us relegated at Brum and Wigan , two play-off finals etc, etc, etc. I'm not into d*ck swinging but if you've been to more than me then I salute you

18.25- don't know where you were in the ground but met two of my best mates who'd been to the game (BML) for a wee drinkie last night. They said the crowd were really good for at least half of the game. But they said our supporters were also joining in with the sacked in the morning stuff, etc. They said other fans were turning on those singing those songs. This is what it's come to.

Those suggesting Steve Bruce and Mick McCarthy- I ask in all honesty- are you being serious? If you hate Allardyvce for not understanding the 'West Ham' way you'll have to explain to me how either of those two can be expected to do so. That bell-end Bruce in particular has made no secret in the past of the fact that he f*cking hates us. In any case for me, they both come straight out of the tin marked Allardyce types rather than the box marked Wenger or Lambert types.
