Meanwhile, players are Bahraining down on Elland Road. None of them are much cop, and none of them stand a cat in hell's chance of cutting it in the Prem, but Warnock is on a mission and there's no holding him back. He wants a squad. And to be fair, if four or five big signings follow when the Arab oil tap is turned on, then Leeds may yet be a force in the Championship this season.
I know Leeds fans think I am obsessing about their club but the truth is, Leeds are the big story at the moment. And if I was Warnock, I would be sweating. If the new owners are Bahraini, they don't mess around when it comes to summary justice. He's been sacked a few times, but Warnock hasn't been shot on his way out of the office - yet!
Leeds have some challenging fixtures at the start of the season and if they don't hit the ground running, Warnock will be in trouble. And his challenge is to blend all these new signings into a team. How often did West Ham fans trot out the line, "It takes time for a team to gel" last season? An early punch in the solar plexus could leave Leeds doubled up and gasping.
Meanwhile, Maynard is supposedly the first of the "big" signings. I've made my feelings clear on the West Ham misfit - Leeds can have him. If that is a "big" signing, then the Bahrainis would appear to be a little less affluent than Man City's owners!
Meanwhile, there's sod all happening at West Ham!
why are you even that arsed about another club?
ReplyDeleteApparently Mr Warnock has not made a bid for maynard but he then also says that he might make a bid for him ! maybe you miss understood and he sent someone to the shop for some maynards wine gums ;)
ReplyDeleteif getting a club promoted from the championship is the prospective new owners main aim, what better man could you have in charge than warnock.why would they want him out.take a look at his promotion record.
ReplyDeleteSod all happening at West Ham ... are you not keeping in touch ... you've just signed your 3rd keeper Raphael Spiegel, (he played 17 games in the swiss 2nd div last year) to go with Jussi Jaaskelainen and Stephen Henderson (both these goalies relegated with there respected clubs) ... Fat Sam commented "All three will help us keep the ball in the air for long periods of games making it extremely difficult for the opposition to actually play football and hopefully cement our position as an established bottom 4 team in the premiership" - Keep up the good work Sam
ReplyDeleteAnother stream of endless bulls,,t worry about w spam and your 1 season in the prem mot
ReplyDeleteKevin in manchester
ReplyDeleteNo you are wrong HF Master Bates's plan has come home with knobs on. The cash geyser will be provided by west yorkshire police who have to pay them bask thruppence h'penny for the cost of policing they illegally lumbered the club with over the past few years ...MOT to oblivion!
Thats the first honest article i have seen on your blog, but from what you write you must spend all day reading up on Leeds stuff on news now. I feel sorry for you really, even when things go at there best at West Ham like last year, you know it wont last and you'll be back down one or two seasons later, think they should rename your team yoyo united, I think west ham hold the record for the most promotion /relegation yoyos
ReplyDelete"Leeds fans think Im obsessing about them" what do you mean THINK- just be honest and come over from Fat Sams Grimey Army to the club you truly love
ReplyDeleteYou are fucking sick in the head using that photograph. The man in question had just carried a heavily wounded protester. What do you hope to achieve linking such things with sport? You need to give your head a shake and take a look at your priorities. What a fucking dick move.
ReplyDelete1028, I have posted your comment despite the use of the F word because you seem to have missed a rather crucial point. The photograph is not the problem, the problem is Bahrain. The photographer didn't shoot anybody (other than with a camera), the Bahraini authorities did. Sick? Yes, the regime is sick, deeply sick, and it is cronies of the regime who are rumoured to be buying Leeds. True we have porn barons running our club but that hardly compares with gunning down unarmed protestors in the street! I bet Leeds fans will feel very proud if the take over happens!
ReplyDeleteLOL Kevin. I understand Leeds zoo will now accept no responsibility for any tigers or lions they release onto the streets of the city.
ReplyDeleteThere really are no depths you will not stoop to to gain a reaction are there?
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your mate "the headmaster" chipping in later. No doubt suggesting that the man in the photo was assaulted by Don Revie from beyond the grave.
ReplyDeleteAs it hasn't been confirmed either way who the new owners of Leeds United are, or whether they do indeed have anything to do with the recent atrocities committed in Bahrain, your photo is particularly disgusting and in shocking taste. It's going beyond banter mate, totally sick and totally out of order. You've lost all arguments with that one,it just adds to your cannon of odious remarks made over the weeks. V,Sad.
ReplyDelete1028 here, and where does it state on your blog no use of the F word? It ain't family friendly here at the best of times to what's the purpose of trying to impose censorship? I happen to be one of the few Leeds fans who on occasion find your wind up blog mildly amusing but you must know deep down you are bang out of order using an image like that. The posts after mine express a similar viewpoint and I can tell you that you have completely alienated me with your actions today...One member of the consortium is allegedly connected with the Bahraini royals only...and this is no excuse to use a photo like that in such an insensitive and in my opinion belittling manner. If you had any respect for, or even slight interest in the plight of the Bahrainian people you would have thought twice before using this image for the sole purpose of winding up both Leeds and West Ham supporters alike. Shame on you.
ReplyDeleteLeeds doesn't have a zoo, you muppet!
ReplyDeleteYou've clearly never heard of the Broadleas estate 1945, that's where the picture was taken!
ReplyDeleteAnd 1945, I put out a clenched fist and you Leeds fans keep charging chin first on to it! Of course Leeds doesn't have a zoo, the RSPCA objected to the application. Build a zoo in Leeds? Who would allow such appalling abuse of animals?
