The loss of Clayton to mighty Huddersfield Town must be a huge disappointment. I was impressed with him last season and not only because of the way he took his chance to equalise at Upton Park. The boy looks like a proper footballer to me and I think he has a future.
So what is really going on at Leeds? Surely Clayton was worth retaining, if only as a squad player. His wage demands can't have been that high if Huddersfield can meet them, so what's happening exactly? The "We are billionaires" boast of the flat capped whippet owners sounds a tad hollow when Huddersfield Town can tempt away one of the better young players on Leeds' books!
He had 3 or 4 good games last season, not a loss
ReplyDeleteTransfer listed as not wanted by Warnock
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you concentrate on your own club you sad boring tosser?
ReplyDeleteHow many times did you see him play last season exactly. I would bet not enough to make such a judgement. That said I would rather we were keeping him than Brown.
ReplyDeleteClayton thought he was better than he actually is. He turned down a new offer, so bye bye.
ReplyDeleteHes no great loss, not a consistant player for me , has one good game and then dissapears for the next three.
I think you will find he will live to regret leaving Leeds.
Have you nothing else to do apart from looking through the leeds forums.. Sad twat
ReplyDeleteLeeds transfer listed clayton, he didnt jump ship, we didn't want him coz he went missing in most ov games last year, comment on ur own shit and not Leeds!
ReplyDeleteBelieve me, he was on the transfer list for a reason, was dire after losing his partner johnny howson, who seemed to make him look a world beater. No big loss, howson on the other hand............
ReplyDeleteWe put him on the transfer list Warnock for some reason doesn't rate him like snodgrass and the rest!!! This takeover will happen but how rich we will be is another story.
ReplyDeleteWhat a clown you are hammerfan he hasnt jumped a ship he was pushed, placed on the list with the rest of the dross because they not good enough. he played well first 7 games after that and he were shite howson carryed him. Also have you given anythought to how clayton has moved when we under embargo? The deal is done the only hold up is that, on the 11 july 07 when we exited administration a deal was struck if the club was sold with in 5 year the creditors had to get 5m. So expect you'r night mares to come true and the billionare takeover announced the 12th of july. WE ARE LEEDS FILTHY RICH :-o :-D
ReplyDeleteWhat's your other problem? Clayton was a bit part player, surfacing for about 15 minutes per game on average.does this qualify him for premier league wages? i think not. colin needs 100% players, even if they are OAP's, as it fits in with his game plan of hoofing the ball upfield for fast forwards whilst the midfield holds a defensive line. never pretty, but if it works who gives a shit. all these old timers are on short contracts (2 years) so new manager can get proper players in once in Prem. were you impressed with all the other people who scored against the hammers last season? must be a hell of a long list in that case.
ReplyDeleteClayton was very good for Leeds in the first half of the season, however, during the second half he frequently went missing far too often forth prolonged periods of the game, and does not have ability to really command a midfield (which I suspect Warnock surmised and considers it much better to employ real 'talented players' such as Michael Brown and Paul Green in the engine room! - Oh no, unless this takeover does go ahead or if snoddy leaves, get some £ on LUFC back to L1. Anyway, I trust in Warnock's weird logic, for now.
ReplyDeleteWell, considering the takeover hasn't happened yet, the funds wont have been released so warnock has to generate money by selling players. And on the issue of Huddersfield they have spent around 10 million on players in the last couple of seasons so they can probably offer high wages
ReplyDeletecolin listed him at end of season says he can get better player than him for same money alright on sat went missing tuesdays we need experiance and pace and good engine
ReplyDeleteHe was transfer listed you arse and was not needed.
ReplyDeleteHammersfan he has just signed a new 3 year contract at 22k a week at town now that's big wages and for me he isn't worth anywhere near that he has 5 good games 10 forgettable games that's why no big clubs come in for him. What does worry me is no buys or sales could happen while takeover talks happening now deal must be done or has fallen through as clayton has been sold ! MOT..

DeleteDear Mr Cockney Tedious-Nobrot
ReplyDeleteI like the bit where you talk about Leeds United letting a star player go. Is that not what happened with Robert Green, your 'England' goalkeeper and your esteemed club of bubble blowers?
Now, I'm not going to get into the petty slanging match about who is the better team, player, etc. For sins in a previous life where I kissed a Princess, I have been granted the pleasure of being a Leeds United fan in this life.
Even before the billionaire takeover from Sheikh Mahandi and his brother Sheikh Mahcok, Clayton refused to sign a deal - greedy agent. Yes a decent footballer, but not good enough to hold a club to ransom. Mind you, you Southern Pimm's Brigade lads must be chuffed as puff with two cocks that you've landed George McCartney; we had him at Leeds last season on loan - Paul McCartney was faster.
Anyway, I hope that the flood water does not rise too much down near you, although it would give your mouth-breathing, web-toed, pond-dwelling friends the environment they deserve; stones for you all to crawl under can be provided at the cost of two portions of jellied eels and some pie n' mash Guv'nor.
I look forward to seeing how are season pans out fella, but, to be brutally frank, couldn't give two shits about any other team...including yours.
Good day to you Sir.
Seems to be a lot touchy spluttering going on.
ReplyDeleteAnd making things up.
Huddersfield spent £10m on players? Playing the lad £22k pw?
Ignorance.
I,m really starting to enjoy your blogs, your fabulous lack of insight and knowledge never fail to amuse.Keep up the good work, life would be so dull without amusing little fellows like your good self.
ReplyDeleteYou really are a prat aren't you?
ReplyDeleteCheck the old news stories on Leeds' official website and you'll see that Clayton was deemed surplus to requirements by Neil Warnock and was transfer listed.
Quote Warnock: "Adam has done quite well since I've been here. I just feel we need a change in certain directions and when I talked to his representatives I think it was clear that we were not going to get near the ball park, where they wanted to be wages side. So it was pointless dragging it on and we have already got Robert Snodgrass, Ross McCormack, Aidy White - whether they will resign is not yet to be decided.
ReplyDeleteI just thought at this moment in time, I wanted to bring in one or two midfielders to the club. If we don't get the figures, Adam will come back and fight for his place and that's what I have said to him."
So Warnock wanted him but Leeds couldn't afford to keep him!
Pedantic prick
DeleteHi Knob
ReplyDeleteHes was part of team that finished 14th. The whole lot should go for me, so no great loss and if snod goes so what? Fact still remains your a knob and your getting to be a bigger knob every time you write a message.
Always comes back and bites you trying to be clever, but being a knob you won't mind will you knob
you should have another web site

KNOBBER
Absolutely shocking bit of business if there is a supposed 'takeover'. Irrespective of what other Leeds fans or Warnock say he was 1 of 4 half-decent players we had end of last season and wont be replaced. Once again the 'squad' deteriorates. Time to get your f***ing heads out of the cloud wake up and see whats going on around you.'Billionaires'?
ReplyDeleteBe honest, how many of you bought season tickets on the strength of this?

NO WONDER YOUR SO INTERESTED IN LEEDS!!!
Suprised you've never heard of mo diame? Saying that, he does play in the premiership! Been a while since you watched that
DeleteToo many exclamation marks for this entire blog to be taken seriously. I don't know why people bother commenting.
ReplyDeleteI don't comment on every pile of dog turd I pass on the street.
Is this take over another 1 of papa smurfs tricks he done the same thing at chelski. Keep the faith mot
ReplyDeleteNo way does that quote state that u cockney twat. Warnock was not bothered if he stayed or went. Stop stirring and concentrate on your own shitty team
ReplyDeleteDo I sense some nibbles ... Leeds are going backwards. One of your best players moves to the terriers.
ReplyDeleteNo takeover. Bates will take you down with him
He(clayton)was transfer listed mate! What i find strange is how can huddersfield afford to pay 20k plus a week for an average player!under the new football league rules on wages and transfer(investment) fees!!!!? look at leicester its sell sell sell!because they have to reign in there spending! There wage bill far outways there turnover!and or income from football. So how the fuck a smaller club can afford this is beyond me!!!?
ReplyDeleteWe're dirty leeds and we're filthy rich,WE'RE DIRTY LEEDS AND WE'RE FILTHY RICH....bye for now sad act
ReplyDeleteMo diame, oh ye, he has played in the prem for .... Wait for it .... That team that spent most the season in the bottom 3, Wigan ... Class ... Lol, they deemed him good enough to release him ... Didnt fit in with their passing style ... Will fit in well with your route one kick and rush ... Good old sam, keep the spammers playing like wimbeldon
ReplyDeleteUr a complete retard.... He was shite last season... Not good enough to wear the Mighty Whites shirt! MOT!
ReplyDelete"So Warnock wanted him but Leeds couldn't afford to keep him!"
ReplyDeleteNo, once again you twist the facts and come up with a lie.
Warnock appreciated what he had done for the club but wasn't prepared to pay the wages Claytons agents thought he was worth, when he could get better players with more experience and were ready to give 100% for Leeds United AND accept the wage structur Leeds offer.
With hindsight Clayton is probably regretting turning down a deal at Leeds, and the FACT remains that YOU don't actually know what wages he is on at Huddersfield - but then you never let facts get in the way.
