Sort out Noble's Contract Now!

If there is any truth in the rumour that we are stalling on renegotiating Noble's contract, then that is completely senseless. Love him or hate him, and I am hopeful that he will emerge as a real star this season, there is absolutely nothing to be gained from allowing his contract to run down, meaning he can walk away, Green like, at the end of the season on a free transfer.

How stupid were we with Green? I was no fan of England's 666, but had we paid him an extra 10k per week for 12 months, we could have sold him for £2m rather than given him away to QPR. That's a net profit on the one year deal of £1,480,000 if my sums are right, and we would have been in a position to choose whether or not we wanted to keep hold of him.

Noble's deal should have been a priority. He has been a loyal servant of the club and was excellent last season, making more completed passes than any other player on the books by a country mile. The last thing we need is for him to get the huff, aka Green, and to decide to leave. Sullivan and Gold are taking this sound financial management too far and need to get their product out of their arses pronto because penny pinching will see us back in the Championship before we know it.

If happy, Noble could be a positive driving force as the season kicks off; if he is unhappy with the owners, he will be a dead weight hung, albatross like, around the team's neck.

  1. Green wouldn't sign - slight flaw. More work needed.

  2. Noble can serve the club he loves better by moving on. Of course, I agree with you, if we can make some money by renewing his contract before we ship him out, I am all for it. But I doubt there will be many takers.

  3. Sam obviously don't rate him.... get behind the manager and stop winging.

  4. Thought that would smoke you out Sav. Now let's await Stani. Mind you, after Bopara's duck, he's probably in hiding!

Sam certainly rates him 0903, that's why he named him captain when Nolan was injured.

ARE YOU THAT DENSE 0828? Green wouldn't sign because we let his contract run down and wouldn't match QPR's salary offer. That's the £10k per week I'm talking about, lifting his salary to the level QPR were offering. Doh!

  5. Kevin in Manchester writes.....Noble, in cycling terms, is a domestique... Admirable, necessary but not going to win any prizes.I'm glad the club is re thinking its wages policy. Paying international wages to domestic servants makes no sense. What we need are big rewards for five or six big players leaving the rest with something to strive for... Perhaps then the good 'uns will stick around and we'll have a chance of building something other than a mediocre future dogged by the threat of financial catastrophe. BY THE WAY wasn't Tomkins awful for Team GB? And aren't Cavendish and Wiggins utterly marvellous!

  7. Maybe Stani can explain why Bopara can do so well in 1 day internationals but falter in test matches.

Trying my cricket hat on again.

  8. YOU REALLY ARE THICK FANNY. Green didn't want to stay. He wanted out. The £10,000 didn't mean anything to Green whatsoever. There was no way he was going to stay with West Ham.

    HELLO? ANYONE HOME? Doh!

  9. First of all I would like to congratulate the Proteas on a fantastic drubbing of the South African 2nd 11 and then state 'get behind the manager?' If it's to push him off a very high something then I will other than that him and the dicks that own the club can rot in hell as far as I'm concerned I think even Duxberry did a better job than them

  10. Sorry HF, too busy watching Amla's 300! :D...and Swann's ugly face! Best spinner in the world my arse!

It's probably just pressure Dave. He probably feels every time he fails he'll be dropped. Let's hope he isnt this time and Geoff Miller actually demonstrates the consistency in selection he always talks about and has in the past afforded to the likes of Collingwood, Bell and Cook. Bopara's Test record isn't bad, let's be honest, and it's still early days.

As for Noble, all his arse-kissing and PR exercises have come to bite him on the arse. Never show the likes of Gold & Sullivan that you are prepared to do anything for the club (like our fans have so are being taken for a ride) because they will test you. Noble's loyalty and 'West Ham through and through' is being tested by them now.

If he does go for a fee, I'd be surprised if any club in the premiership outside the bottom 3, go for him.

  11. The Hammers are going to lose Noble, there's no doubt about that and you can guess where he's going too. Yep QPR have been sniffing about again. So thats Noble,Green and now we're losing out to them for Defoe aswell. Plus Maynard is more than likely on his way to the flat capped whippet owners. Whats going on with Sullivan and Gold? Aren't they selling as many dirty mags and dildos as they used to? Depressing.
