Leeds United - The Painful Truth

The question keeps arising, why I devote time to writing about a club I do not support - and we are talking Leeds United, not West Ham!

Ever since this site was conceived, I have regarded it as a West Ham site first and foremost but used it to look at the broader game of football and touched upon other sports such as cricket along the way. Last season, with West Ham out of the Prem, I adopted QPR as my Premiership club to follow, because of a strong West Ham association through Fernandes, Ferdinand, Dyer, Gabbidon and a certain Neil Warnock, a figure much loathed amongst West Ham fans because of the Tevez affair. Now we are up, I thought it would be fun to follow a club in the Championship and, for better or for worse, settled on Leeds because of the take over rumours and that man Warnock again.

Now my take on events at Leeds has provoked a certain amount of controversy, but my take on events at West Ham and at QPR had exactly the same effect. I quote from the best Leeds blog on the net, Clarke One Nil which claims to be the: "only proper independent thinking (no adverts or friendly relations with the Leeds United media operators here), realistic and long term centred LUFC blog" and goes on to say:

"We are not in competition with anyone else because no-one else covers our territory, no-one has the range of writers, no-one else has the philosophy and consistency. A lot of the other Leeds United blogs simply ape some news story and slightly alter it to produce an article. Others do produce original content but through the need to be popular (not an issue for us) the result can be anodyne. Even the best one of the rest (in terms of attitude and content) is but a marketing tool for its printed manifestation."

Now the author of that article goes on to say, "Well you wouldn’t want “the games gone crazy” getting more popular either would you?" and I can see his point, because, in a way, this site does represent competition to his in that neither of us say it as you want to hear it, but instead say it how we see it to be. However, the sites are distinctive because Clarke One Nil is written from the perspective of a Leeds fan, whereas this site spills forth from an enemy camp, albeit the enemy carries a flag of peace, or at least a flag of taking the peace!

The most interesting thing for me is the vitriolic response to everything I write. As I said above, West Ham fans initially greeted this site in the same way, and QPR fans also threw their rattles out of the pram, but why? We live in a country that supposedly values freedom of speech, and I really can't see the point of the internet if all bloggers write from the same hymn sheet.

Given what is happening at Leeds, it staggers me that there is not a host of blogs demanding to know what the hell is going on. How long has this take over rumbled on for? But then rumbled is the wrong word, because it suggests evidence that something is happening. The silence is deafening!

Meanwhile, Leeds' best player from last season has been sold, and one of the best young prospects has been allowed to leave as well. In their place, a host of aged, mediocre players have been ushered through the door by Warnock as the former Shafting United boss seeks to turn the once great Whites into a team of kick and run cloggers (as opposed to ball playing cloggers!).

With QPR in ninth place in the Prem last season, I predicted that they would struggle to avoid the drop. The reaction from the gRs was predictable: I was abused and told that I didn't know what I was talking about. Well, at the end of the day, QPR only survived because Bolton allowed a two goal lead to slip in the penultimate game of the season and stayed up with 37 points, one below the normal safety target. Turns out that my prediction made in the first quarter of the season was absolutely spot on!

Similarly, I warned West Ham fans that Zola, Duxbury and Nani were destroying the club. Nobody wanted to hear it. But I was right. When West Ham were sitting in second in the Championship last season, I warned we were in a false position. Again the reaction was highly predictable, but again I was proved correct. And that's what winds the idiots up so much, I am right much more than I am wrong. It is not what fans want to hear, but the truth often hurts and, in my book, burying your head in the sand is for ostriches.

What is truly sad is the way the comments left on the site reflect upon our nation. The standard of spelling and grammar is shockingly poor and the ability to construct a thoughtful response is sadly deficient. That doesn't cover everybody, of course. There were a number of lucid gRs who engaged in debate and some Leeds fans display intelligence. Meanwhile, there is a core following of this site from West Ham fans who understand where I am coming from.

The biggest irony of all is that West Ham fans respond to criticism by claiming I am not a Hammer, where as Leeds fans, masochists to a man it seems, respond to criticism of Leeds by claiming I am a secret White! I am not, of course: I dislike the club with a vengeance, but I still hold a begrudging respect. In a strangely masochistic way, I want Leeds back in the Prem, because that is where the club belongs.

Anyway, this was provoked by getting a mention on Clarke One Nil. You know you are having an impact when the best Leeds blog on the net gives you a mention! Before you post a reply guys, try to think. There really is no point in using the F or C word because I cannot post your comments. I would have posted this in comments on Clarke One Nil but sadly comments are not allowed - probably because of the foul abuse that author receives too!

The time you devote to Leeds my friend is commendable. I too would take interest in following the events of true champions when your biggest claim to fame is an fa cup or arguing that you won us the world cup 50 years ago ! Personally, i don't hate your blog or the fact that you support a lost cause, I simply take satisfaction from being Yorkshire as against you're affiliation with Essex ! Yorkshire / Essex. Take your pick ! None of that 'lympic bollocks up here my friend. Just nice countryside and proper beer !

  4. As a Leeds fan I have enjoyed reading this blog. An often humorous take an the perpetual farce at Elland Road, this blog has also served to highlight how incredibly stupid much of our fan base is.

A classic case of this was the article on Sheikh Nosob Sggih, which was then pasted around Twitter and rumours sites by many of our following.

  8. What Is TRULY sad Is you spend your weekends trolling through Leeds websites regurgitating nonsense you see on them..I.e Clark one nil...this is not the best Leeds blog by far. You even write about the blog saying that people copy alter and paste old information etc and yet here you are doing exactly that!! Only u add your own fantasies on the end.....the truth is....these no point blogs and biased opinions are what is truly sad. Take a leaf from your own blog and find something to do of a weekend like making friends or moving out your mom's attic cos this dribble is getting tired and boring MOT

  10. I do agree with you on the point you made about Leeds should be in the prem but so should forest & sheff we'd two other big clubs with history it's really time to drop the dirty Leeds crap the game has moved on from 70s everybody's hate for Leeds made me support them when I was young but dirty Leeds faded away a long time ago think about it . Is it really intelligent to hate a club that you don't support ? As for spelling & grammar txing has a big part to play in that !!

  11. I hear what you're saying, you have the right to air your views on Leeds United. Perhaps Leeds fans should take this ethos to heart and air their frank and honest views on west ham united on your other articles, at least then you'd got some responses.

  12. HF, you get the dogs abuse (pointless btw and an embarrassment in my opinion)because you come across as having spotted something the Leeds faithful have not, you take the peace from a standpoint that we are too thick to work out that Ken Bates is destroying our club, just remember this is something he promised to back in the bad old good old days when we smashed his brand new score board up bless him, he's a cancer on our club and no one knows more than us that the sooner he has gone, the sooner Dirty Leeds can get back to being Dirty Leeds, a very ironic tag that we revel in and are all proud of by the way
Do your worst mucka, we Leeds stand alone, Hated but rated!!

  14. Some fans take leeds to seriously instead of reading what is actually being said
you make points that a lot have been thinking but because its from another team that really riles them
the take over is draging its feet and the players brought in are no better than those sold tho it looks more solid in defence which is a plus but we need another striker a wide player and quality midfielder time i can only say will tell in warnock we trust

  15. Self praise is no reconmemdation. Trying to justify your bloggs about Leeds with an ego bigger then your managers head cuts no ice. Using another Londoners bloggs as the true voice of Leeds utd is as pathetic as your mayor looked swinging on them wires the other day. Stop trying to create antagonism between us as its making you look more simple then the bilff you keep spewing. And as for Gramma its a internet blogg not the Times numbnuts!! Put up every post dudette and stop pretending your clever.

  16. What you fail to understand is, is that you are taking the pessimistic road on a club that we love. You talk about our players and our affairs as if you know more about them than us season ticket holders that watch them week in week out.

Your attempt to undermine everything Leeds is becoming progressively tedious. You are speaking as if you know more about players than Warnock even though he has 7 promotions to his name, a feat you will only ever accomplish on football manager.

If Leeds signed Messi, Ronaldo and got taken-over by Ambramovich's richer relative you would find fault.

If this is for journalistic purposes, rather than a more cynical view that it is purely to get hits on your blog, then the impact of your writing is declining as Leeds fans think "Oh its that tw*t speaking bull again" rather than create more of a debate.

    MOT. In Warnock we trust.

  17. Good Blog. I believe that leeds fans have been hurting for some time now. They have been lied to and have had major ups and downs over the past 10 years. The way that football fans cannot interact together if they support different teams is a trait of the modern game. Therefore when a west ham fan tends to constantly wind leeds fans up by blogging about their precious club i can understand why your comments are full of hatred. If you took more of a proffessional role within the blogs about leeds and not fishing for the next leeds piss take blog then you may get a debated response! Have a think about it. MOT

It's that every other blog you seem to use to take a pop at Leeds... The Olympic opening ceremony comes to mind... Yes some do hide behind webnames and post some horrible stuff which yes isnt right but then again maybe you do invite it... At first I found this blog fairly amusing but after 3 or 4 months of having to put up with you trying to goad Leeds fans into.taking a pop at you so you can complain about us beinf vile people etc it's getting kind of pathetic ... With regards to the takeover, I totally think its all hype, if I’m wrong, then I will hold my hands up and eat my hat (I don’t wear one).

We all know Bates hates Leeds, always has done. He is a business man and that’s it. I cannot understand why the club has allowed all this to go on over these years and allowed Bates to ruin Leeds, sell players, and not allow the manager/s to bring in some real talent with real cash.

Leeds Utd fans should boycott themselves from buying Leeds Utd tickets, not turn up for matches, as this is the only way to make Bates think!

What have we got to lose? Where not going to get promoted the way Leeds is run at the present!

It hurts now, let it really hurt for Bates. Money injection is what we need, and a lot of it... Not under Bates will we get it.

  26. Leeds united News Now often directs me here. I would say that some of the articles are intended to provoke a response and they do it well. Some are drivel but some are actually a good read. As for your assessment of our current team. We have some championship journeymen for sure. Better than league one players playing above their level. So I reckon we have a better base squad. As for Clayton going. Mixed views on that. It appears he was too greedy and thought he was more important than he was. Good luck to him. In a seasons time he will regret it. As for Snodgrass, he gave Leeds a chance and we weren't in a position to convince him we were on the up. Don't blame him for going to the prem, I just think he's picked the wrong club. Time will tell. If we add a bit of class you might just find the mighty whites waving to you hammers as we pass you and end up playing in diff leagues for a second season.....

  32. Clarkeonenil's editorial content is poorly written, curmudgeonly and comically cynical. The post you've quoted questioning the integrity of other LUFC blogs beggars belief. What pomposity! What hubris!

The sites they're taking aim at - primarily, it seems, The Scratching Shed, but also the award-winning Square Ball - are better written and mercifully free of the kind of lockjaw negativity which Clarkeonenil's commentators seem to regard as some kind of badge of honour, rather than the tiresome guff it truly represents.

And as far as their comments about not being part of the establishment as they see it: that's like Nigel Farage claiming UK elections don't matter because Strasbourg calls the shots. Well, perhaps, but no doubt he'd change his tune if anyone ever listened to him.

In all honesty, nameless West Ham fan, I'd rather read your drivel: at least you can string a sentence together. Ho hum.

Given what is happening at Leeds, it staggers me that there is not a host of blogs demanding to know what the hell is going on.

As a Leeds fan you get used to being 'hated' it doesn't matter whether it's in Yorkshire where we are still the biggest club by far (hence the hate) or anywhere else in England - we are hated and it's something you have to accept...

On saying that, the Premiership will be better for our return (whenever that may be!) and I'd never support anyone else! :-)

  35. Now then, I have to say that I am stunned you are so incredulous about receiving the abuse you get from Whites fans in response to your idiotic ramblings.
The reason for this is simple. In case it had escaped your notice football is a particularly tribal sport. Thus any criticism from opposing tribes will automatically be met with a vitriolic response.
The solution to this is also simple. If you don't like the abuse don't write crap about another tribe! Although i suspect this is what you are looking for in the first place. I believe it is called trolling.
You are a long way from gaining any respect from whites fans, want proof wait for the abuse spunk bubble.

  39. you have very high opinions of yourself it appears.
"There were a number of lucid gRs who engaged in debate and some Leeds fans display intelligence". this sort of comment is exactly the reason why i think you are words beginning with F and C.
you are obviously intelligent. your blog clearly shows that. however, i have to ask why someone who is so intelligent would want to write a blog about football?
why do you think that football fans who read and respond to the poor content (subject matter) in your blog are going to give a thoughtful response? does it warrant one?
you cannot pull the wool over our eyes either with regard to your reasons for choosing leeds as your plaything this year. its for the hits. plain and simple. no other set of fans would respond to you in such numbers. maybe you have this real desire to be popular. unfortunately my friend the people who respond to you aren't your friends and you can't count them as such. on a personal level i would imagine you are very unpopular.
you are condescending both in your subject matter and your counter responses.
another thing that stands out is your need to be held in high regard in this particular piece of work. your fawning over clarke is quite sickly to be honest. but you have a way to go before you and your blog will be placed in the same bracket as they, or the scratching shed for that matter.
ive also noticed that sometimes you are downright nasty about leeds to the point that it descends into a rant, yet other times your blogs are very thoughtful and even respectful to us. strange behaviour!
i think you are teetering on the brink. you are a hammers fan because the big, cool lads were hammers fans but secretly, deep down you have always liked us more. in the closet (or attic, cellar!) so to speak. thats the painful truth my mate.

  43. The only painful bit in all of that is that I think you may genuinely believe that you are right more than you are wrong, and indeed that you can make such a statement without any sense of irony. Clarke one nil, in your skewed perception of reality must be the best Leeds blog because they name checked you. This appeals to your sense of self importance. For all this to be going on you must be hiding some major insecurities. Keep it up though because I am starting to enjoy the amount of effort it is taking you to find a negative spin on any news eminating from Elland Rd.

Not one Leeds blog has found you sufficiently relevant to be worthy of a regular response.. To do so would be childish and, frankly, un-cool. Well done Leeds blogs for ignoring this persistently unbalanced critique of all things Leeds. Hammerfan, you need To develop some class.

  45. Just as an experiment - can I suggest you "adopt" a different club to write about. And then we can compare and contrast the quality of response and spelling. I have indeed pointed out to you that "been" is not the same as "being" quite recently. And if I can see bad spelliing and grammar - it must be bad.

My point I guess is it may be your "right" to write what you like, but their is a distinct lack of humillity in your pieces that just simply antagonise. I'm sure it's possible to get your points across, which do indeed mirror many Leeds fans worries, without so much of the wind up.

Just try another club or two, with similar large followings, and I'm pretty sure you'll get the same level/standard of response. To single Leeds fans out like this as some sort of abusive/dyselxic tribe whilst not comparing any others is to say the least, disingenuous.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I think the reason why most people are aggrieved by this blog is the tireless obsession with LUFC. Every new development, every whiff of a rumour is lathched upon by you to ridicule the club we love. You have just said you hate Leeds and we all know Leeds is the club to hate but this is what we all see this blog as, a sordid hatefull obsession! I hate Manchester, Cardiff, Chelsea, Millwall etc but i don't write on the internet about it. We are all thinking, you concentrate on what your doing and we will concentrate on ourselves. You talk about Warnock, yes he's a bastard but now he's our bastard and if im honest i cannot think of a better pairing of club and manager to rub everyone up the wrong way and fuck everyone off. You talk about the signings as if they are outrageous yet we all see a capable squad being assembled. You talk about the takeover 'rumbling on' but any club's finances and assets that have been handles in the way ours has will require an extended period of due dilligence. As for your prediction regarding the QPR struggle last season, i think everyone in Britain (except their fans) predicted them to struggle so dont start thinking youre mystic meg.

You often talk about the lack of intelligent comments on your posts yet you revel in making crude remarks about beach volley ball etc. Surely you're covering something up here? You don't like Warnock because his former club was the victim of w,Ham corruption? V,strange. The trouble is you think we're biting but you and your grubby little club have become good sport now. We can hurl all manner of abuse at that claret and blue waste of space and the cretins who follow it with pure abandon. I personally find clarkonenil rather boring. Too often they dig up archive posts just to prove how clever they were. They post so much they've probably got pretty much every base covered and their "comments closed" policy, for whatever reason, does not invite discussion.

Also you may wan't to read some other blogs - TSS or TSB to get an insight into the Leeds fans Psyche. In short I think the vast majority of fans are agnostic regarding this take over. I'm a Leeds fan and have been for 45 years, so have seen all the ups and downs, when Sergeant Wilko took over at the helm, he bought In a lot of players who were on the way down, and maybe one or two that other clubs didn't want to touch with a barge pole! That all worked out for us, as he got them out the league, we then won the old 1st Division, we had a crop of youngsters awaiting In the wings the academy of which he set In place, not sure If this will happen again, only time will tell.
I for one Love your comments on the site, I regularly get stick at my local from the Hammers Fans there, all of whom are my good friends, always remember our encounters In the 70s when Bonzo and Bobby Moore were chasing around! 55. Very good article. I am hoping that Clarkeonenil does deliver the best LUFC blog and I am optimistic for the new season. It can't be worse than last season even if there is no takeover. Warnock is the man to do a job and I don't see why he won't get us challenging for the top 6. We are looking for two stella signings on top of all the ones he has done. That is what he indicated when Snodgrass was finally sold. We need those two signings to give us a fair chance of challenging for a top six place. Enjoy the premier league, big Stan is a great manager and will definitely be a success.

I regularly go on your own w,ham site under various aliases and take the piss there aswell, you have taken the bait on numerous occasions. I only ask that you come up with actual facts,ie w,ham were captained by a jewellry thief and they signed Diamante as a tribute,or w,hams support is largely made up of extreme right wing supporters and thats why the fascist sympathiser di canio felt so at home there. I read about two lines. Guilty conscience much Hammersfan? Starting to realise what a sad, sad campaign it is you're leading.

Yes, you're articles provioke reaction. But not the good kind, where you've inspired debate and thought. Nope, it's just a load of poorly scripted digs at other clubs (which seemingly have a more active online following than West Ham)

I think the realisation is sinking in. Yup, you get yourself some hits, but people aren't coming here because they think it's good, or thought provoking. People are coming here because they've either been fed link bait, or they hate you.

Drury/robınson, austın/clayton, pearce/odear, peltıer/connolly, kenny/lonergan, green/brown, varney/pugh and CMS/paynter. All players are an ımprovement on last year, admıt snods ıs a loss but so was beckford and the season after he left we scored more goals. Hope you post thıs unlıke my last 3(no swearıng eıther) although ı dıd ask your thoughts about beıng bullıed of WİGAN!! For ıvan ramıs. 66. QPR struggle to avoid the drop, Zola a sh#t manager and West Ham in a false position at 2. What are the lottery numbers HF? Clearly a fuc#in psychic if ever I saw one.

  67. Well, it's fair to say. This blog would be even less than it is without Leeds fan's input. Perhaps if you acknowleged this you may have a leg to stand on.

    ReplyDelete
  68. If this was a general football blog then you may have some valid points but it's not. I know newsnow would not list it if it were and you would have no exposure at all but it's called WestHam - TGGC and you are, as you call it, a Hammers Fan. So you are effectively fishing for reactions and you get 'em. Then you criticise those that do. Either their spelling is pulled apart or you take umbridge with the 14 year old that calls you a nob (sic) as unfortunately is their right too. etc.

Those that do engage are often accused of not having any real argument anyway. Or more often just ignored.

Stop griping about it if you don't like it. There are things you can do. Rename your blog. Write with a little more humility. Stop allowing anonymous comments. The list goes on.

Fact is. You like it the way it is and effectively anything you blog is designed to perpetuate your stereotype.

Stop pulling the "you don't have to post comments" card - it's a straw man and flies in the face of your own fredom of speech flag waving ethos.

Put up or shut up, but stop getting so personal if it gets under your skin so much.

  69. Lmfao you take the piss out of us and you muppetts have just had a wait for £150,000 bid for this joker rejected Mohsni from some league one giants lol

  70. I don't think that it's a case of people not agreeing with you they just don't like you. Arrogance is definitely the worse quality when you clearly have nothing to back it up with.

First I thought this was quite a good laugh not having to register an account etc. Then it got really boring and I stopped commenting. Reading this though I have to say you're such an arsehole and I genuinely pity your existence. Bite? Call it what you want you're still a loser.

  71. Self congratulation is a bit like self pleasuring. I see you are very adept at both. However, your forte is undoubtedley hoisting yourself up by your own petard (spelling mistakes in your article criticising spelling of others). I predicted you would do this yesterday. This doesn't make me very clever - just able to predict the bleeding obvious. A bit like your good self. Here's a few predictions for you based on the bleeding obvious.

    West Ham will be relegated.
West Ham will sack big Sam inside 12 months.
West ham will declare themselves skint and introduce a series of austerity measures.
West Ham will not sign Andy Caroll but will be associated with any big name failure made available next season. None of them will sign.
West Ham will leave their spiritual home and play to a half filled Olympic stadium where the punters struggle to see the pitch and the atmosphere is non existant. This will happen in th Championship and it will be horrible.

  72. But you don't know me 1922. If we met by chance in a pub, you might well leave thinking top bloke for a West Ham fan. What you and others don't seem to get is that a writer can assume a personna. This blog has a distinctive style which is why it gets all you Leeds fans yapping in frustration.

  74. You're calling yourself a "writer" now? You're no better than a 14yr old school kid scrawling "Chelsea are crap" on a bog wall. These intelligent comments you crave, are we to aspire to the comments made by one of your lot on another post, "Ferret loving buffoons"? Or special Leeds? You continually contradict yourself and i think if any of us were unlucky enough to meet you in a pub and engage in conversation,it wouldn't take too long to take a dislike to you. I'm thick skinned but even i would've gave up by now, knowing that so many people dislike me. Unless your lack of social skills is explained by a form of asbergers syndrome?

  75. Are you seriously suggesting that this blog makes you a writer. My God you are a deluded. You are, at best an antagonistic blogger. As for persona (you will notice the correct spelling), in my opinion you are, at best persona non grata - look it up!

    ReplyDelete
  76. How could anyone possibly like you? This isn't your 'personna' talking now it's you looking your nose down again confirming everything I just said.

  77. Hate is a powerful word HF. 1st game for me at Upton Park was our 4-3 defeat in 82.....got a right kicking after the game was in a real mess as I headed back to Derby. We subsequently went down in 82 but can honestly say, despite a peach of a scar I still have from that day that I do not hate West Ham. Only missed one game against the Irons since and still retain a healthy respect for a club that draws a loyal fan base with proper lads and a good knowledge of all things football. I respect all true fans whoever they support. Look at what we have had to put up with since football sold its soul to Sky. So by all means wind us up and fish for a bite but save your hate for those that have truly ruined our game. R & R to all true football fans.

  78. "What is truly sad is the way the comments left on the site reflect upon our nation. The standard of spelling and grammar is shockingly poor..."

"a writer can assume a personna"

That of a "pieus hipocrit" I see

  80. "HF, you get the dogs abuse (pointless btw and an embarrassment in my opinion)"

This guy gets the abuse because everything he ever writes about Leeds United has a negative vibe running through it!

If he has anything positive to say then he should say it rather than rely on bitching and backbiting and then wondering why he gets so rude and abusive replies?

I still seriously cannot understand why anyone who alleges support for a football team would ever spend any time (let alone MOST of his time) bothering to watch any other team with such vociferous interest?

Personally I don't give a second of my time wondering if wet spam will stay up, go down, go into liquidation, whatever. I couldn't even tell you any of their players names - I really don't give a $hlt about the team at all.

The only thing that comes out of this guy is the fact that wet spam have nothing to shout about, nothing to support, and nothing to keep their fans occupied during the school holidays.

No doubt he will find something 'clever' to say about this posting too, but I seriously don't care what he says or whether he bothers......

All I do care about is Leeds United, their players, their problems, their history, their future, their present - anything and everything to do with the club I support.

This sad guy obviously doesn't have any of that to look out for, why else would he need to 'follow' another team, no matter what league, or even what country they are in?

Being a wet spammer must be so mind boringly depressive......

  82. "But you don't know me 1922. If we met by chance in a pub, you might well leave thinking top bloke for a West Ham fan."

If I met you in a pub and all you did was spout about Leeds United I might just think you were a top bloke for a Leeds United fan. Where do wet spam come into it?

    ReplyDelete
  83. "This blog would be even less than it is without Leeds fan's input"

It would actually be less than nothing, if that's possible (minus quantities do exist by the way, they are called debts - something wet spam know all about - unlike Leeds.......)

  84. "hammersfan has got his head so far up his own bumhole, he's gotta be alex ferguson haha MOT"

  85. "As a Leeds fan I have enjoyed reading this blog"

I don't think 'enjoyed' is quite the word I'd use, try 'despaired' instead.

If this were a Leeds site, fine, but this is a deluded wet spam site PRETENDING to be a Leeds United site.....

Have you ever read an article about wet spam on a Leeds blog site?
