Another Depressing Friendly Performance

At this rate, Allardyce is going to be sacked before the season kicks off! We played pretty close to a first pick 11, given the players unavailable due to injury or Olympics duties, and we were thumped. I suppose it was progress on last season when we shipped five at Ipswich.

The Hear No Evil merchants will argue that results in friendlies are irrelevant and will point to Avram's success in games that didn't matter, but there is a depressing pattern emerging - including the shipping of three goals each game we play. The defence is woeful at the moment and we will be torn apart in the Prem without new signings. Demel isn't good enough, Reid was found wanting when we were last in the Prem and Potts / McCartney are not going to keep Premiership players at bay.

Yes Diame will help, and so hopefully will Tomkins, but when you are weak on the flanks, you will get beaten seven times out of ten. Zola and Grant both tried to play with inadequate full backs and we were punished so I'm amazed that Allardyce has not smashed down Sullivan's door and demanded action by now.

Any further delays will be disastrous. A defence has to play as a unit and time is running out for an understanding to be developed. If we don't announce the signing of decent right and left backs next week, I predict we will go down.

  3. please sack that fat useless sack of shit before the season starts, that will suit me just fine.

I predicted last year that he would be given his marching order by xmas this year and i stand by that call. He was used for getting us up but is god dam awful at playing football anything like what us fans DEMAND.

The sooner we see the wood through the trees the better, sack his fat arse and get a manager that will play some proper football ON THE GROUND.

  4. Agreed. 100%. We are in deep trouble as things stand now.

  5. I've read some claptrap online in my time, but this takes some beating! Pre-season friendlies give no clue at all as to how the season will pan out ....

  9. Dzeko says he doesn't want a bench role, how long before west ham under bids a loan on him? Problem is, he'd actually be someone I would like to see in claret an blue.

  10. Need to be a bit more sensible about this.

Fat Sam (as was Curbishley) are proper premiership managers who will do what it takes to stablise us as a premiership club by finishing each season between 17th and 10th.

If you seriously believe that a club with our yo-yo reputation can attract the players needed to challenge for Europe then your deluded.

Attractive football is nice to have but winning and staying in the premiership year after year is is more important isn't it?

Its only pre-season with two key men missing.

  12. Would you like to borrow Paddy Kisnorbo for a few games until october? That way he can get some match practice in as he comes back from a serious injury.

  13. Why are you talking about Leeds, this story ain't about Leeds you saddos. All last summer I kept hearing how Leeds are bigger than West Ham and that we'd never get promoted, well look how that turned out losers!
Friendlies don't mean d*ck you n*bs, Euro champs Chelsea lost to Brighton today yer mugs
Of course it will be tough in the prem 1st season, if you got promoted would you be saying it will be easy (no is the answer thickos).
Leeds are as bad as they were last season and they've lost their bes player. Promotion my ass!

  17. TGGC has scored an own goal by actively engaging with Leeds fans in this way

I dont know about you but I come on here for objective discussions concerning West Ham.

In the nicest possible way WTF going on? Leeds are not our concern and I do not want to read threads full of unrelated petty one-upmanship throughout the entire season. Sort it out TGGC!

    1. So true and why do Leeds fans read posts on the Hammers then slate them? They just sound jealous and desperate.
If I see a story on Leeds I just don't care and don't read it

  19. I'm a Leeds fan. To stand any sort of chance in the Prem you need a good team. You don't necessarily need lots of premiership quality players but you do need a good team spirit and a bunch of like minded players willing to work to a system and sweat blood for the cause. Do West Ham possess these attributes at the moment? When I saw them play against us last season I couldn't help thinking I was watching better than average Championship players shoe horned into a team (and a system) which, frankly, didn't seem to suit them individually. Where's the smile on the faces of the team, the manager, the chairman, the owners, the fans? Don't get me wrong, I genuinely wish West Ham well and am only drawn to this site my it's author's persistent attacks on my club. I mean only to give an independent observation of another teams situation and I hope it gets sorted for you. Do Hammers think the current team was built too hurriedly with the foundations creeking as they move back maybe a Season or two too early.

  20. Ok 21.25,you drive a hard bargain. You can have Kisnorbo while he gets fit and we'll throw in Rachubka but only until october mind.ok? It should shore things up while you wait for your new investor with his 60m and they're better than what you have. Word of advice though, keep away from rachubka if he's carrying hot tea.

  21. Speaking as a Leeds fan I have to say it is quite sad that fellow Leeds fans feel the need to post such disrespectful comments about West Ham. In the 25 years I have followed Leeds we have never had even the slightest problem with West Ham and don't understand why this should start now because of the mindless actions of one pathetic individual.

So on behalf of the real LUFC can I say we genuinely wish you well for the coming season and hope to play you again in 2013/14...in the premiership of course.

All the best and good luck.

Shall we wait until the real games start in a couple of weeks first before we start slashing wrists or sticking heads in gas ovens..Grant's pre-season's games went swimmingly a couple of years ago, then look what happened. Hold on,my employer needs me. Toodle pip for now.

  23. 12.30,speak for yourself if indeed you are a genuine Leeds supporter, which i doubt. Your comment made me want to vomit. What an odious, sanctimonious pillock you are.

  24. Do you understand the meaning of the word sanctimonious Mick? I think he was pretty horrible about me actually. Ever since I read his comment I have sat in a darkened room wondering about the point of life!

    1. Gonna say Mick, odious is probably the complete opposite of sanctimonious surely. Thought you were the intelligent one??

  25. We all know that you're a pathetic mindless individual hf. My objection is to his grovelling apology on behalf of Leeds supporters and how he wants you all to win the champions league and the lotto. Why do you ask if i know the meaning of sanctimonious? Unlike you i think before i text/comment. It's getting more like Countdown and less like football every minute. Man-up you lot, especially that so called Leeds fan.

    ReplyDelete
  26. How old are you Mick anyway? Will you even live beyond the next season? My grandad doesn't even know how to use a computer.

  27. You people honestly. No wonder you're called the hammers, you all seem to have some kind of head injuries. Let me explain,i objected to a "Leeds fan" fawning to w,ham fans the way he did. I found him to be sanctimonious ok? So much so that it was odious (offensive) ok? Now i suggest you read your own comment back as there are one or two corrections to be made. Thankyou for the compliment although until today i hadn't put myself above anyone else, intelligence wise but after talking to lot i feel like Stephen Hawkins (another Leeds fan by the way) for 19.51,god knows what you're on about. Can we get back to football now? This is a Leeds site isn't it?

wet spam actually LOST to IPSWICH TOWN 3-1??

  31. "please sack that fat useless sack of shit before the season starts, that will suit me just fine."

Oh come on, nobody likes the wetspammer who writes this rubbish, but that's going a bit far.....

Oh, by the way, what was the actual score, wetspammers seems to have omitted it from the article along with the words 'wet spam LOST to a lowly championship club......'

    ReplyDelete
  32. "In the nicest possible way WTF going on? Leeds are not our concern and I do not want to read threads full of unrelated petty one-upmanship throughout the entire season. Sort it out TGGC!"

If wet spammer leaves Leeds United alone I am sure you wouldn't get all us Leeds supporters on here.

BUT this is a Leeds United site, after all, just count how many Leeds threads there are, compared to the few wet spam ones?

Any chance of getting a bit more white blue and yellow in the web page, we'd really feel at home then....

    ReplyDelete
  33. Never mind how many Leeds threads how many Leeds fans comment on non Leeds threads? It must be really quite embarrassing to be a hammer. You can say what you want I.e. where not that sad etc but we all know what's going on here. If ever there was a test of size this is it and that's BEFORE we talk trophies. What's even more alarming is youre supposed to be in a higher division than us (albeit temporarily). Come on guys show some passion!!
