Matty To Clean Up In Claret & Blue!

I have expressed my doubts about the wisdom of the signing but to hell with it, he has joined now and at £10m+ we can't afford for him to fail. People weren't sure about another Matty, Etherington, when we signed him and he was a star, his betting problems apart. If Jarvis offers us the same threat on the counter attack, he will be worth every penny of his transfer fee. It will all come out in the wash apparently.

Is that it transfer wise or can we expect more arrivals? Allardyce doesn't seem to fancy Cole as his main striker and Maiga seems to be an option for one of the wide men (and with Vaz Te we now have three) so we will almost certainly be bringing in at least one more offensive player.

Then there is the defence to be sorted. With Diara able to play as a centre back, the focus should be on the full back positions. But Sullivan doesn't seem to like spending money on defenders, so we may still be as exposed down our flanks as Harry was in Las Vegas! But based on the picture, Matt Jarvis has no problems with being exposed at the back!

  1. Kevin in Manchester writes..

Writing in the Standard Sam says yes that's it on the transfer front but that he is hoping for a loan or two and would like a hitman. I am a bit alarmed that he seems to have set CC a target of 10 goals, also how many goals assists would you expect in a season from a £10m rated winger?

  3. You should rename your blog '£10m for Matt Jarvis-The Games's Gone Crazy'. If you'd have seen his performance up against an 18yr old last Sat you wouldn't have paid 10K. Well done Wolves for getting £24m out of two very desperate clubs
