Warnock Voices Frustration And Wants Bates Out Of Leeds!

Despite bringing in ten players, Warnock claims his squad doesn't stand a "cat in hell's chance" of seeing out a 46 game Championship season. He wants three or four players but Leeds United, despite their great past, are still on their uppers. And the reason? Master Bates who will not fund any further signings.

Warnock complains that there's no chance of buying anybody else unless the take over happens, and even reveals that an attempt to take a player on LOAN was frustrated because another Championship club was able to pay much higher wages.

That must make chilling reading for the Leeds fans who claim that their club is one of the biggest in the world. Whilst little old West Ham shell out £10.7m on Jarvis, after recruiting Diara, Maiga, Collins and Diame, Leeds can't compete with Championship rivals even when a transfer fee isn't involved.

I'm not sure what Bates will make of his manager's comments. Warnock stops short of calling his Chairman a tight fisted bastard who is destroying the club's chances of progressing, but if you read between the lines, that's what he is suggesting. And, at the same time, he is getting his excuses in early and deflecting blame elsewhere, hoping that the Leeds fan will back him if results go the wrong way, focusing their ire on Bates instead.

Of course, Warnock learnt at QPR that there's nothing to be gained from toadying up to the governor but Bates will not take kindly to Warnock stirring up even more ill will towards himself. What price Warnock departing before Christmas?
