Zola's Watford Issue Warning To Championship Rivals!

Leeds, Birmingham, Bolton, Leicester, Ipswich, Wolves, Blackpool, Middlesborough, Cardiff, Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace and Blackburn should take note, little old Watford are looking impressive under GianFredo's stewardship. The likeable Italian is preaching the beautiful game and after a narrow defeat at home to Tottenham, the Hornets took Gillingham apart tonight, tonking them 3-0.

I was no fan of Zola when he was in charge at West Ham, but maybe the job was too big for him first up - perhaps, like Di Canio, he needed to start small. There's very little pressure on him at Watford, a top half finish would represent a fair return, so they may yet be the promotion dark horses for this season.

Mind you, Zola started well at West Ham so Watford fans shouldn't get too carried away just yet. However, as critical as I have been of GianFredo, I would still like him to succeed at Vicarage Road - albeit that would involve Consigliere Duxbury succeeding too!

  3. No anonymous 01:13, he's just covering his arse just in case Zola succeeds. This is classic HF. If it's not 'I told you so', it's 'yes but didn't I say'. If he covers every angle, despite the contradictons, he's got an excuse for himself when he's proved wrong. This post has been put in place to be used for a particular purpose in the future.

  4. LOL Stani, you think I am much more Machiavellian than I actually am! Whether GianFredo Zola succeeds or fails at Watford will not alter what happened at West Ham, where he failed. I like the guy and hope that he says his Hail Mary and pulls out a big three points every time! Consigliere Duxbury on the other hand...

  5. Hahaaa, sure HF, you're an angel mate.

And Zola didn't fail at West Ham. Had you said he was failed, I would have agreed

  6. No chance, Forest all the way, building a great team at the city ground, quietly and with no fuss.

  7. Forest all the way! Lmao! Great 2-2 draw at notts county when 2-0 up. No chance. Blackburn, Leeds and Leicester are the dangers. Don't discount Brighton either.

  8. Sussed by your fellow hammer eh? Nice one Stani. Hf knows piss all about football. It's just W,Hams, misfortune that he latched onto them when he fell out of the sow.

  9. Really? That's what we are? I think it's a bit disrepectful to a club who once finished league runners. I believe your highest ever league finish is 3rd.

    1. Fair enough 13.25. By the way, have you put a roof on that tiny little stand of yours? How about that old scoreboard from the 50's, that still going? Shame that Elton John didn't actually invest any of his money when he was in charge, rather than sticking it up his nose during gay sex orgies. Hopefully the new owners will get to work and tidy the place up a bit

  10. Who the hell said forest? The only promotion you'll be gettin is from league 1 next season! Joker! You got some billy no mark as a manager, your buildin a squad of (you guessed it) billy no marks and your owned by some absolutely clueless Kuwaitis??? Good luck if you think your gettin promoted!

Blackburn, leeds, bolton,Blackpool,Cardiff, wolves and the mighty Leicester city are the ones to watch. id even go as far as Huddersfield causing a few upsets! as good as gian"fredo" is this league is too competative right now for watford to clean up but good luck to ya!

  11. Thanks 1305 but if anything I wish he'd latched onto Leeds as I assume that's who you support. Who else would make such a petty and pathetic comment with absolutely no substance whatsoever. Get a life or go comment on one of your own blogs you troll!

  13. Oh the irony, Zola and Watford go up as we go down with Sam.

  14. 1427 I assure you Forest will not be getting promoted from League 1 next season. Would you like to put your money where your mouth is?

If by next season you are actually referring to the season after then please accept my apologies (although would still be happy to put a wager on it).

  16. All this talk of Watford the honest facts are Zola or not the board at Watford are tight fisted penny punchers who supposedly have money, but where it's being spent nobody knows, certainly not on the ground or players. And thanks for pointing out that Forest drew at Notts County from 2-0 behind and the loss at Mansfield town. What you forgot to add to that was the Mansfield game O'Drisocll fielded two teams including new players who arrived only a couple of days prior, same with the county game. What I find amusing though is you pick up on the games we lost and drew but forgot to mention how Forest slaughtered Aston Villa 3-1 forest being the dominant force in the game. You also forget these are pre season friendlies they're played in mind of new players getting the feel for the team and get ready for season match fitness. Come the start of the season lets see who's at top... Watford it will not be... As usual.
