Dave Jones' Comments After Leeds Game Are Spot On

Here's what the Sheffield Wednesday manager said:

“Everyone is talking about one idiot. It isn’t one idiot. They were ripping out seats, throwing bottles and when the lad attached Chris Kirkland he ran back into the crowd and they – the fans - hid him," Jones told the Sports Bar.

“Don’t think it was just one person. It wasn’t one supporter chanting; it wasn’t just one supporter ripping out one seat, it was 30 or 40.

“I call them animals and that’s what they are. They shouldn’t be allowed to go to a football match, that’s how strongly I feel about it.
“It’s not water of a ducks back when my family are in the crowd and my 11-year-old Grandson is hearing it.

They shouldn’t be allowed to go to a football match, that’s how strongly I feel about it.— Dave Jones

“For someone to attack someone on the pitch it doesn’t matter who it is, I thought those days had gone.

“I feel sorry for the police to be honest, when you have mindless idiots. It was one supporter who went on the pitch, but what about the rest that went to protect and hide him.”

The Wednesday boss was equally unhappy with Leeds manager Neil Warnock, who encouraged his players to applaud the away fans and said that Kirkland ‘went down like a ton of bricks'

Now that isn't labelling all Leeds fans animals, he is talking about 30 or 40. Now presumably these "fans" bought their tickets through Leeds United Football Club. In which case, Leeds have some questions to answer, especially in the light of Warnock's decision to applaud the away support. With the help of TV images, it must surely be easy to identify every one of those involved, based on the club's record of who purchased tickets. Sheffield Wednesday will also be able to identify which seats were torn off and thrown onto the pitch.

Leeds should now publicly shame those involved and must make greater efforts to ensure this scum never ever get into a football stadium again. Meanwhile, Warnock must be charged with bringing the game into disrepute and for encouraging hooliganism - his post match comments were inappropriate and the applauding of that section of the ground was little short of disgraceful. He might like to offer a personal apology to the grandson of Dave Jones. How appalling that an 11 year old boy was forced to witness that. And still I have Leeds 'fans' coming on here posting obscene comments about Jones. Just one moron? Warnock should take over moderating this site, then he will find out how many morons there are amongst the fan base of Leeds UNITED football club -

MOT implies COLLECTIVE RESPONSIBILITY does it not?

    4. Once again, it's all our fault. I don't condone the idiot slapping Kirkland (although he did milk it) not do I condone tearing out seats and throwing missiles. But once again it has been totally ignored that we also get dogs abuse. Warnock, kenny, brown, tonge and diouf all got 90 mins of abuse, and it was the galascum chants that kicked everything off. Perhaps if you actually researched what had gone on instead of seeing what you want to see you might not get do much stick from the Leeds on here? It was wrong and I hope they prosecute all of them, but what about the Sheffield throwing missiles, and calling us cunts? Should 11 year old boys have to hear about the tragic death of two football fans from a sick chant?

  3. So much one-sided bollocks in the aftermath of this incident. No mention of Turkish chants, taunts aimed at Warnock and Kenny, coins thrown into the away end, a flare thrown onto the pitch. Not excusing the fan running on - but it's happened before and it'll happen again. Because it's Leeds, it's the greatest atrocity known to man.

  4. I agree with some of what you say, but if it's so distressing for you to have to moderate your site, when you're having to read vile comments from Leeds morons, then surely the answer is to not write about Leeds?
A lot of negative stuff happened in football in recent days, yet you still choose to focus solely on Leeds.
No one could ever condone what that guy did, but if you want credibility, then you should give equal space to what the morons at Huddersfield did to Alan Smith last season, & to the Cardiff fan who threw a pint of urine on Nigel Martyn? I could go on. If you want to be taken seriously, then you need to stop obsessing about Leeds.

  5. Where are the Leeds fans now, what no comments.? I thought they would have been on in their droves, ''another dig at Leeds' etc... Not this time as I think they are all embarrassed by this... By the way, that's not a dig at the Leeds fans as we have been know to rip up a chair or two, not sure we have physically abused a keeper though! COYI

You talk about morons yet you post antagonistic shit like this ... You only post things to insult Leeds fans and probe a response.

Stick to posting about your own shit team instead of posting provocative, recycled wank, oh and the fact is that Wednesday fans were just as bad and "vile" but that wasn't mentioned was it!

  12. We don't have to answer to you, you nasty little racist troll. However, I must add that I was at the match, with my kids, and whilst I was pretty depressed about the actions of some of our so called fans, I was pleased that the players came and thanked us for our support after the game. Have travelled around the country supporting the team I love, in the main without any trouble, I love my team, and the team love the fans. Not the thugs, the fans, and there were plenty of reasonable, fair minded, law abiding, good humoured and friendly United supporters there.

  13. Everyone has missed the point here, it was actually both sets of fans chanting at each other and 10 of our fans went over the top and ended up on the pitch and one moron took it too far....end of, these should be banned and not the whole set of supporters from away games as this would be unfair!! Also I see the secrity at Hillsborough was spot on again...NOT, this needs looking into before it goes too far at another home game. Marching on together

  19. One moment of idiocy sent us back 20yrs in one fail swoop. There won't be many Leeds Utd fans that will not be feeling ashamed by the small minorities actions on Friday. As a long standing season ticket holder I can honestly say I very rarely see or hear any incidents. Although just one is one too many but we have no more nuggets at Leeds than any other club, including West Ham. To make it worse he wasn't even from Leeds.... Off topic, One thing I have been thinking recently and i really need to ask, what is your obsession with Leeds Utd

    ReplyDelete
  20. I am a Leeds fan since I was 5 yrs old living in Northern reland, I am 50 yrs old in 2 weeks and just retired from the 32 years as a Police Officer.

Friday nights events were a shamefull night for Leeds football club but I can not sit back and let yourself and Dave Jones label all of us true fans with the "thug" tag

Unfortunatlely all clubs have a section of fans that behave in a thugish manor, A number of years ago I was at a football match at Upton Park with a number of my off duty police collagues, only to be battered by West Ham Fans that left us in hospital for 3 days....the reason??? we were Northern Irish and as such IRA supporters!!!!!

I have dedicated my police life in the fight against the IRA and all forms of terrorists and lost many friends in doing so!!!!

My point??? where these vile scum, the lowest of the low representive of all West Ham fans??? of course not as the chants about Turkey etc are also deprived....

Open your eyes young man they are within your club as well it is a broken society that needs fixed and you would be a fool to think otherwise.

  21. Now you have managed to quote Jones wouldn't it be a balanced thing for you to quote everything that Warnock has also said about this?

We will then see that he retracted his 'ton of bricks' comment and we can also read all the other things he has said about his and all real Leeds fans disgust about this incident.

I guess that not the way to do it if you're Hammersfan and you are hell bent on stirring up the hatred.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Hammersfan, Dave Jones' comments were said in the spur of the moment after an emotionally charged derby with a Sky microphone stuck up his nose, as was Warnocks. Warnock has add time to reflect and since apologized for his stupid sack of whatever remark. I can only assume you have also done some reflecting after your first posting which is a slight shame because "Stand by for a hysterical reaction to one Leeds thug" I thought was a good measured response. I personally hope that rather than lets all blame Leeds this finally makes people sit up and admit that not all is well in the game in England and large parts of Europe. Having said this, it still saddened me being a Leeds fan today.

My 8 year old Leeds fan nephew and his dad are neither morons nor vile, his heart would be broken if he couldnt go watch leeds away thanks to 1 imbecile, he was really scared when a small percentage of the extremely young fans acted out. Dave Jones was rightly angtry but needs to consider that Sheffield should be disgusted with their own chanting, friend of the fans who died in Turkey still go to games, so shouldn't they also be banned from away games? I am a Leeds fan and feel sickened by the entire episode!

  26. As a Leedsfan i`m shocked and sorry for what happened on friday night. But this has happened before.I remembering 9 februar 2010 in Carlisle. 3 Leedsplayers where kicked and punched after the game by Carlisle supporters. Alan Smith was punched in the face after Huddersfield won promotion last season, when MK Dons played them.Sheffield W supporters beat Clint Hill after they where relegated from the Champinship. Hill sayd "i know they`re frustrated, but should they be throwing punches at people? A good few landed and i`m and a big lad and i can take them, but should they be throwing them? Once one had a swing at you, everybody gets a bit brave and starts having swings. At one point there where was maybe seven or eight on me" And not to forget the incident at St.Andrews, when Aston Villas keeper Peter Enckelman was mobbed and got a slap in his face. This seems to be a national problem only when Leeds supporters are the troublemakers. No punishment for Carlisle,Huddersfield and Sheffield Wed. So maybe the moron who attacked Kirkland, had seen what other teams supporters was getting away with?

Bottles were thrown yes but what you missed importaantly is that it was from both set of supporters.
Also you failed to add a missile from the sheff wed supportes was thrown onto the pitch narrowly missing players.
    Secondly.
Crude chanting was heard from a section of leeds fans.
Again you fail to add the crude turkish songs sang by the Wed fans along with turkish flags.

    Thirdly
I hope this thug who ran on the pitch is caught and delt with this should not be seen in football.
But again you miss the wedensday players forearm bashing not just one leeds player but two.
Why has this incident been hidden?
This was far worse than the thug who im not defending.

    Fourthly
Jones was chanted at but Newil warnock was chanted the whole 90 minutes called all sort of names he has children watching so pls ask the wed fans to appolgise to his kids.
If your going to write something find the facts first because you just see one side but then again you always do.

  33. Some of what you say is right and some is wrong. ANY fan identified as having thrown objects, damaged property or in the case of one idiot committing violence should and will be dealt with by LUFC as they have a zero tolerance policy to hooliganism - I am hopeful they will also be dealt with by the judiciary which constantly lets every club down with their meaningless punishments. Also (though you don't say it) any fan having been found 'lending' his ticket to an offender should also lose his right to purchase tickets for a period of time (but not a lifetime ban which has happened before). This would also encompass the SWFC fans that threw bottles at LUFC suppporters if all is fair in the game. However what is incorrect is that Dave Jones said 30 or 40 people in his interview - he didn't say a minority he said all should be banned. 30 from 5500 and suddenly every fan should be banned from all matches - this is so wrong but it was an emotional moment and a forgiveable reaction that I wish he'd come back and retracted just like Warnock retracted his ill advised tongue in cheek ton of bricks comment. If he honstly thinks that chanting will stop because it upsets his family he's deluded - I didn't utter paedophile chants during the match but prior to the match I did think they'd happen after the Saville news and thought them distastefull (and I think if he's honest he probably knew as well). Does he (or any manager, club, group of fans) want to play home matches in sterile conditions or would they rather have 5000 away supporters to chant against. LUFC have one of the most loyal and vociferous away supports in the country that when they behave (as they usually do) add fantastic atmosphere to any match.

Though ,I have to observe any chap who spends a large proportion of their spare time producing a proliferation of blogs intended to entice and goad Leeds United fans should really consider introducing themselves to the real world and a real life.

Take the kids down the park and fly a kite old son.

  39. I would also like to point out that Jones stated that the idiot was patted on the back and treated like a hero - not the case. He was pointed out to both the stewards and the Police at the match by LUFC supporters but they would not enter the stand to arrest him (and with the atmosphere I think that was wise). Also within 30 minutes of the end fo the match his name, address, telephone number and previous convictions were sent viral on the net and the Police were informed by 100s of fans by telephone (some even reported it from within the stadium). I don't really want talk about the idiot and won't name him on this site (because it leaves you liable for defamation) but you need to know the facts and report them correctly if you want to be seen as anything more than a wind up site for LUFC supporters.

    ReplyDelete
  40. an apology for dave jones 11 year old grandson about what he could hear, no he shouldn't have to hear it. but neither should you hear turkish song being sung by sheff wed, what if the family of them victims were in the leeds section? so basically what your headline should so is.. leeds and sheff wed fans spoil a good derby game with vile chanting by both partys. With one idiot who's claimed to be a leeds supporter from down south assaulting the keeper. Hardly a leeds supporter wouldnt be surprised if he as only been going to games for a couple of years and the only reason he goes is to cause trouble. he does not care about leeds united whatsoever. So all this about all leeds fans is a joke, 30-40 idiots that are not leeds united supporters just thugs that are going to the game for trouble.

    ReplyDelete
  42. thats how strongly i feel about it." maybe nobody actually cares dave jones your a nobody .

    ReplyDelete
  43. As ever, your comment is skewed by your personal hatred of Leeds United and of Neil Warnock. That's your problem, but the inaccuracies need to be corrected.

Jones's comments were appalling - not least because he was being asked about the assault on his goalkeeper, but seemed preoccupied by the personal abuse he had suffered. His concern for Kirkland seemed secondary to this. To specifically make a point of tarring ALL Leeds fans with the same brush was as misguided as it was factually incorrect. It was a childish remark, and I'm pleased to see he has since retreated from his ridiculous position.

I was annoyed at the time that Warnock referred to Kirkland "going down like a ton of bricks". I thought it was understandable that Kirkland would be knocked to the floor, you could see he was relaxed, not tensed up, not expecting a physical assault. He must have been hurt and in shock. So I was also pleased to see that Warnock too reconsidered, and withdrew that comment. But Warnock was right to have his players applaud the crowd, 99% of whom had done nothing wrong, and had provided fantastic support - as usual. If players were to refuse to applaud supporters on the basis of tasteless chanting, then no crowds would ever receive the acknowledgement of their heroes, which would be a pity.

I do wish you'd think a little before launching into print. I know you're always slavering to have a go at Leeds, but the lack of any reasoning is unseemly, as is your haste to say something - anything - negative at every possible opportunity.

    ReplyDelete

  46. Both sets of fans were singing vile chants, now thats just not right, and something has to be done about this type of chanting. Its wrong to just have a go at the Leeds Fans though. Wedsnesday fans were just as guilty of this, as are fans at the majority of games. Again, im not saying its ok. but "let he who casts the first stone"

    ReplyDelete
  47. Leeds fans will never change, they are still living off the 80s vibe. 50% of those who travel away don't bother going to Elland Road. Its a cult thing folowing Leeds away, wherever they are playing, be it Hereford on a Tuesday night or Old Trafford the Leeds mob will be there, with on average 3500 going to each away game. Big ticket allocations like on Friday just gives the 'idiots' more chance to snap up a ticket, jump on a train to Sheffield 30 mins away and go cause trouble

    ReplyDelete
  48. First that wasn't his post match interview proper. Search the sky sports. tarring. Secondly Warnock did apologise. the number of different apologies issued by members of the club are clearly lost on youl, barely reading articles and fact. The prat needs banning/thrown in prison. If that slap incident didn't happen it wouldn't be the old crap storm would it???? Chanting happens everywhere, get off the moral high horse. What remote thing can we blame lufc for next??

    ReplyDelete
  49. Cant disagree about the appalling behaviour of some so called Leeds fans, but as long as you put the blinkers on and pretend that your club has no supporters of a similar mentality, then these problems will never go away. It is a national problem not just a Leeds one and I think only fellow fan pressure will stop it.

    ReplyDelete
  50. So it's all right for there fans to chant about Istanbul and throw flares on pitch is it? All you seem to do is write blogs about Stuff you don't know much about.

  51. Dave Jones says ALL Leeds supporters are VILE Animals! Does that include my children, all my family, my sisters, father and all my friends? If he had said all Black People he would quite rightly been locked up. How can he make such a sweeping generalisation, he knew what he was saying because he said he didn’t care if he go in trouble for it.

I have sympathy for his family having to hear the sick chants, but he doesn’t send any apology to the family of the murdered Leeds lads, they must be gutted every time they hear that sick chant that the Wednesday fans were singing.

As for the moron who attacked the goal keeper I hope he is locked up, but dealt with in a proportionate manner.

    ReplyDelete
  52. First point is what ever a Leeds fan says nobody has or ever will give Leeds the benefit of the doubt or view on us differently.

This blog is a disgrace. You are a disgrace as you are a blinkered fool who only blogs about Leeds to get hits.

The fact is the moron when caught should be dangled from the end of the rope & so does any Leeds fan that supports this action.

The moron has been banned since he was 16 yet the police / home ground still let him in. Why?

The worlds a mess & needs to be sorted. But to brand all us Leeds fans the same makes you no more than a small child who should be given no rights as an adult to vote or shape this country.

The rubbish that is being dished out in the press at the moment is nothing short of a frenzied shark attack. Sheff wed fans were just as bad with the chanting & rioting... maybe, just maybe if the police were not so busy dealing with the home fans at the time the line guarding the Leeds fans would not of been weakened & that total idiot would not of got near the keeper.

Dave Jones got abuse so did Warnock... did Warnock cry? Whats Warnock done compared to Dave Jones... google it all. Are we ever going to stop chanting in the game?... without banning all fans of all teams???

    No we are not.

I am ashamed to be a Leeds fan yet again but we take so many to every game just the shear % of potential trouble makers is always going to be higher.

Shoot the lot of the trouble makers at Leeds & West Ham... just fed up with it all... bring back capital punishment that will sort it out.

  60. if i was to set up a blog and constantly rant shit about west ham im sure i would get treated the same as you do on your blog but i dont give shit about west ham so i wont.. your talking about a very small minority of football fans and every club has them including west ham, i think i remember seeing some ugly scenes when west ham played millwall a few years back and tere was more than 30 or 40 people involved.. every club has scumbags and you only get abuse because you look to satisfy your strange ego so do yourself a favour and get over yourself..

    ReplyDelete
  61. EVERY CLUB HAS EM LEEDS WEST HAM MILLWALL YOU FORGOT THEM? YOU KNOW THAT! DAVE JONES HAS HE FORGOT CARDIFF ? MAN U CHELSEA SPURS WOLVES STOKE BIRMINGHAM NEED I GO ON? ITS A FOOTBALL THING IT WILL NEVER GO AWAY IF YOU ARE WEST HAM THROUGH AND THROUGH LIKE YOU SAY YOU KNOW IT MORE THAN MOST! NOT SAYING ITS WRIGHT ANYONE WHO SAYS THAT IS LIVING IN THE PAST BUT YOU KNOW WEST HAM AND LEEDS CUT FROM THE SAME CLOTH US KNOTTLA-WHITE!

  62. You really are a spastic. Trying to get LUFC into trouble. 30 or 40 is still a tiny minority. You don't know who these people are and how they got their tickets.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Hammers fan you have a very short memory posting this wasn't west ham and millwall involved in some of the worst scenes of football violence just a few years back in the league cup, and as for Dave jones the guys a moron Wednesday fans where just as bad singing Istanbul and throwing flares

    ReplyDelete
  64. As a Leeds fan, I am deeply ashamed by Friday's events.

If you study Twitter, however, you will note the disgust that Leeds fans have for the event, as well as using the medium to identify the thug within half an hour.

There are a minority of idiots at every club. The "fan" in question is from Cheltenham and should never have been issued a ticket and club and police alike need to take a look at this.

But I don't think any West Ham fan can talk, having been responsible for equally disgraceful scenes on a much bigger scale in the game against Millwall a few years back.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Bramley Whites, its not a matter doing what youre told, its a matter of doing what's right. As a Leeds fan I found this incident embarrassing and so did thousands of others, you are in a tiny minority in your thinking, and the vast, vast majority of leeds fan do do whats right, you son give the rest of us a bad name.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Hammersfan tbh your a bit of a moron yourself. The incident was a joke and im embarassed at what that fan did but the fact that you and jones can call 100's of thosands of leeds fans animals based on the actions of a handfull is a joke. Lets look at jones's comments all leeds fans are animals.. I go to leeds games and i see 6 7 8 year olds in the family stand so is he calling them animals too? The alogations against jones were not made by leeds fans and there were 19 differnt charges they wernr made for no reason!!!

    ReplyDelete
  67. yeah you may well be correct but at least we dont shit ourselves when we play a local team, like the bubbles rar rar do when you play millwall.

    ReplyDelete
  68. And to be honest hammersfan ive seen first hand what ure service crew do so does that make all hammers fans animals then? You just cant wait to have a go can you and the fact thatyu insult all leeds fans that includes children and also the disabled you and jones really should be ashamed of yourselves! That disgusts me and so does this so called "westham thread"

    ReplyDelete
  69. Unfortunately it seems that is all some people are capable of. I would however point out that this is not solely a problem of LUFC regarding mindless idiots in football, and that 5460 Leeds fan behaved themselves on Friday night and I would wager that 40000 more are appalled that our clubs name is hitting the headlines for the wrong reason again!! Ban him from football for life and those that hid him. Questions though surely must be raised as to how he managed to get on the pitch in the first place.
You may also want to write a more balanced article putting your Leeds hatred to one side for a second to look at the wider issues of the hooligan element creeping back into football in general!!

    ReplyDelete
  70. Even if Dave Jones grossly exagerated claims are correct you're still only talking about 1% of the Leeds support that night. Why shouldn't Warnock thank the other 99% for their fantastic support once again? I know it's hard for you to comprehend but not all clubs take 30 or 40 fans to away games, hf.

Collective responsibility, what sort of a pathetic comment is that? So some idiot from Leeds goes out one night and murders someone from Sheffield I should feel responsible? If you think I accept any 'responsibility' for the actions of that donut then more the fool you.

On the subject of Dave Jones I suggest you do your research before writing these articles (I know you only jumped on the bandwagon a few months ago). He has despised Leeds United for a long, long time and virtually condoned the Istanbul chants from his then Cardiff fans back in 2007.

Oh righteous Hammersfan, you're so high and mighty. Who do you think you are labelling a whole football club as scum? You've spent the last 6 months or so antagonising and inciting hatred amongst the people of Leeds. No wonder even your own fans detest you.

    ReplyDelete
  71. What did the scumbag "attach" kirkland to? Like i and others have said before, you have spent the last 8 months inciting and insulting Leeds United supporters. More and more supporters from both Leeds and W,Ham have become embroiled in this hate match. You certainly have a screw loose if you think you are above any of the idiots who were at friday nights game. The fact is that the idiot should not have been at the game, the police and courts should've made him attend a station at kick off time. Once again you look an idiot. You are a disgrace to w,ham.

    ReplyDelete
  72. You cant control who supports your club, I mean what do you want clubs to do? Your only allowed to support our club if your at least middle class? do a CRB check before buying a ticket? The fact is to go to away games you must be a member of lufc so this person isnt a member therefore hes used a fake name to get through and it is therefore the staff at hillsbrough who are at fault for not checking. Hes been banned 3 times, hes banned from been in the city where the match is held, hes banned from using public transport to the place the match is being played what more can you do? as for sick chanting, its a competition between 2 teams, its play ground stuff, who can get one over the other and that results in distastful chanting because thats as far as you can go without attacking each other, its not about leeds its about fotball in general and it will never change unless competition would be taken out the game

    ReplyDelete
  73. You do rea1lise with Leeds, we only sell tickets to Members and ST holders? So nobody banned can get in the ground, unless bad policing occurs. They clearly let ticketless fans into the ground because all the aisle's and stairways was rammed full of people, the police let thugs into the ground and we get the blame. These people aren't Leeds fans they are scum. Why is nobody talking about the 'Die Warnock die' 'If you shagged Kenny's wife clap your hands' 'Always look out for turks carrying knife' chants but about us singing a well known fact, Dave Jones is a peado. It was only last season Huddersfield fans flooded the pitch attacking Alan Smith (because they think we like him?) and a few years ago when Wednesday went down they went on the pitch and attacked Clint Hill, OH what about that time Carlisle fans attacked several Leeds players on the pitch after JPT semi final, that's right and that time a Millwall fan threw something at our Keeper in the play-offs? NOTHING HAPPENS, but Leeds do it and we're living in the 80's and we're all 'vile animals' and should be banned! Then all these stupid people who write on blogs jump on the bandwagon. The fact is you're all jealous of our fantastic away support and when we do one thing everyone jumps back on the bandwagon. You all carry on singing we all hate Leeds scum because we love it. WE ARE THE LEEDS SCUM! WILL, YOU, COME TO LEEDS, WILL YOU FUCK.

  79. The idiot who PUSHED Kirkland should be imprisoned but talk about turning a blind eye. I think you'll find the Wednesday fans were as bad as us. Chanting about the two Leeds fans killed in Turkey, throwing the flare towards our fans, calling Warnock a W***er(note that all these incidents happened BEFORE the idiot invaded and the seat & bottle throwing(Wednesday fans also throwing bottles)& where were the stewards and police, surely that's Wednesday's responsibility.
We probably do deserve a fine but so do they. It was all banter until they started singing about the Turkish murders. If they had been playing Liverpool and started celebrating the deaths of the Hillsborough dead and the Liverpool fans reacted what would people's stance be then?
Talk about the media going overboard about it as well. There was nowhere near the same publicity when Alan Smith got punched-not pushed by several Huddersfield fans and when Clint Hill was PUNCHED by SEVERAL Sheffield Weds fans but because its's dirty Leeds and their vile fans it's worldwide.
Bottom line- It was a Derby match and things got out of hand. Stuff was said that shouldn't have been said (both parties). Stuff got thrown that shouldn't have been thrown (both parties). A really big professional athlete got pushed by a little idiot (our idiot).

  80. Been talking to a few mates who were in the Sheffield End of things, they said the Jimmy Saville chants were only a response to Wednesday fans chanting "Town full of paedos" and Wednesday started it all with Turkey chants. This is coming from my mate who is a huge Wednesday fan and hates leeds but he said both sides were as bad as each other but since we are the dirty whites, they'll pick on us a bit more!
Seems like this lad who pushed Kirkland got arrested and everyone else who was being an idiot should be banned for a few games too, even though i doubt it will teach them anything!
The club must stand against these "figures" and show the rest of the footballing leagues that we will not condone this sort of behaviour!

I was at the game sat right next to the empty Wednesday seats in the lower stand. I was blasted with coins and had to listen to VILE Turkey chants although some of our fans were singing sick somes about Jones 7 & Saville. I believe, although completely wrong, the Kirkland attack probably happened as a result of this getting out of hand. I believe any decent Leeds fans should be completely disgusted regarding the behaviour of the fan that attacked Kirkland and those that threw seats, ripped off advertising and worst of all patted him on the back. I was embarrassed by their actions and so where some parents who left early with their children. I go to away games and although we are loud and proud the majority are good people so it is hard to take people, who should know better, labelling us all vile animals, as I would not say that about Wednesday fans after what I witnessed, it was again a few idiots that should be weaned out and not be allowed to games full stop. On a final note I sincerely hope Kirkland is ok and on talking to fans afterwards we were all in agreement he should get a long stretch and be made an example of. MOT

    ReplyDelete
  85. I do not condone the actions from sets of our supporters and the Kirkland incident was inexcusable! But what about Turkey chants coming from Wednesday? Nobody seems to care about that. All clubs have idiots in there fan base. Wasn't that long ago you lot clashed with Millwall on the pitch or was that ok?

    ReplyDelete
  86. So every Leeds fan should be banned over the actions of a minority should they? What about the thousands that travel every week and there are no such incidents? No one can even attempt to defend the actions of those mindless idiots but having read a lot of your right on clap trap that you write I'm surprised that you'd discriminate against the well behaved element of our support. The chanting about Dave Jones cannot be condoned, but lets have it right, you make no comment about the about the Wednesday chants about Istanbul and knives but then you don't have a hard on for Wednesday do you? Let me give you one reason all of our away fans will never be banned is simple, we line the pockets of every club in the division when we sell out every away allocation. Looking forwards to your comments about the Wednesday chants biter no doubt you'll choose to ignore this, again...

    ReplyDelete
  87. I wasn't at the game but feel Dave Jones was slightly over the top! I do think that 30-40 could be extended to 100-200 though. Having watched Leeds a lot there are a lot of sheep. Lots that would glorify someone hitting Kirkland if they were in the wrong company. As for singing about Jimmy Saville that is extremely bizzare!

A final note! The lad who did assualt Kirkland was banned for invading the pitch in the game against Ipswich were we got relagated! At the time this pitch invasion happened we had a corner whih (if converted) would have given us a chance of staying up! Shows what kind of person we are dealing with!

  89. Friday night Derby with two ex Premier league clubs, a lot of needle from BOTH sides and nearly 30,000 fans,5,400 Leeds fans. Intimidating for most average away travelling fan! That's why unfortunately you get idiots like the 30 or so you're talking about going to these types of fixtures. Yes its Leeds this time but if you check the history of fans attacking players only in the last 10 years, sadly we are not alone. I dare say if you lot were to play Millwall or some other 'Needle' team something would happen. We all have 'wankers with something to prove. So stop getting on the 'Witch hunt wagon' like the rest of the press and also we cannot be labelled 'vile animals' that 'need to be banned from all grounds', collectivly! By the way, he did go down like a sack of shit, my wife could hit better. MOT

  90. Dave Jones comments after the game were spot on eh? Please can you explain why he has now rebutted them and made a public apology.

Have you got the guts to apologise for your appalling comments? No because your still the spineless coward hiding behind your computer that we all know you are.

I for one would like to accept Dave Jomes apology and move on. I never really liked him after the comments he made a few years ago but it takes a man to apologise.

    ReplyDelete
  91. That was a disgrace am a massive Leeds fan but u can't but every one in the same boat chanting and a bit of banter is good for the game as 4 hitting players there's no room for them. Mot Leeds! Hope he gets sent down

  92. If a Leeds fan set up a blog like this slagging off west ham at every opportunity, then i'm pretty sure the moderator would be having a hard time if it from west ham fans. You deliberately post these blogs to annoy Leeds fans and get a reaction, so don't talk rubbish. some of your posts are funny, but the majority are a waste of time reading, like this one.

    ReplyDelete
  93. You clearly suffer from selective amnesia so may i remind you of the carling cup fixture between w,ham and millwall in 2009? The catchy little tag that was posted by your own delightful fans of the beautiful game was i believe "Bring your bats but don't bring your kids". One millwall fan went to hospital with stab wounds, twenty others were injured. Your classy female fans were seen punching police horses and there was a mass pitch invasion in an attempt to get to the millwall fans. Add to this the vile boasts of your fans evading their banning orders and you end up with a comment like this that will not see the light of day. You are indeed in a glass house. Oh and while we are on the subject of England getting knocked out of the 74 world cup(one of your previous anti Leeds posts),the following year 2010,we lost the vote to host the 2018 world cup. Thankyou West Ham United AFC.

  95. If the idiot hadn't run on the pitch then there wouldn't have been anything in the news about the abuse aimed at Dave Jones. This is a regular abusive chant at him and isn't news worthy, despite it being considered offensive by most true football fans.

The abuse from the Wednesday fans was equally, if not more, offensive and is being totally ignored.

The idiot who hit Kirkland should be locked up and you will find 99.9% of Leeds fans are embarrassed and ashamed that he is associated with LUFC.

Stupid blogs like yours only perpetuate the hatred between clubs and you should have a look at yourself before condemning the whole Leeds fan base because of the actions of a tiny minority.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Could anyone really be surprised? As can be seen over the last months on various threads on this blog there is a very substantial and vocal set of Leeds supporters (as they call themselves) whose vitriolic abuse and intellectually challenged comments just defy belief. Maybe it is true that you do wind them up a bit, but surely the real Leeds supporters could stand up once in a while and distance themselves from all this? I often see the funny side of many of their rantings - Bell-end, knob-head and other single emphatic statements thrown at you make us all chuckle and a few have made me laugh out loud they are so reactive, impulsive, crude, short and unexpected. But there has always been the other sinister undertone of comments such as those to do with cancer and so on that mark out the underbelly of these so called supporters. Now we have this incident at Hillsborough. We must hope that it is representative of a small minority but the real fans do need to stand up and be counted. Warnock's comments are frankly disgraceful - although not really surprising as I am sure he still can't work out why he cannot walk on water yet. Let's hope Leeds FC get their new owners so they can get on the road to recovery with new finances with a new manager and see the back of Bates. No-one can deny that they are a big club and deserves better - better fans in some respects as well.

  97. Do you want to know something that would stop all this shit at football matches? Its got a bit to do with alcohol but mainly it's cocaine,if we had sniffer dogs in city centres targeting the usual suspects in their usual (casual label) uniforms and then arresting them on the spot,we could stop 90% of trouble. They are clearly not pissed, they have a pint at the most then its orange juice and a bit charlie in the lavs, then they're ready to take on the world. They don't feel fear or pain and their inhibitions have gone. Its not just football obviously, any saturday night in any city. It will get worse before it gets better.

  98. Some horribly predictable responses here, and many have had to be moderated out. Can we please establish first of all that all charges were dropped against Dave Jones. Anybody can be accused of a crime, but happily in our country, somebody has to be found guilty before a charge sticks. There are laws of slander and libel in this country so I will not post the foul things that some are saying about Dave Jones but I challenge you to supply your names and addresses so he can take action if he so chooses. I would for the sake of my family.

Sadly the responses just show that Jones is right when he says it is not just one moron. And yes, there are morons who "support" every club - and far too many who support West Ham for my liking - but that is no excuse for the morons who support Leeds United. As I say, you lot boast MOT so accept COLLECTIVE RESPONSIBILITY or ditch the hollow, empty, meaningless phrase.

  102. Looking forward to seeing the huge fine and ban they hand out to Dave Jones for his breach of dignity by calling Leeds fans vile animals, If he said it where i work it's instant dismissal through gross misconduct, so let's see.... i think 2 years ban and a hefty fine that should be paid to all Leeds fans who are hurt by his disgraceful comments, and for the record i hope the goalie is ok, he went down well from a slight shove, i hope he doesn't have to defend a corner next game like most of them do where they go sprinting out and pile drive into the box full of players (he could get a little hurt) What the fan did was wrong, but come on goalie, you dived like a sausage, and the manager is heading for big trouble with the FA

  103. Well 20.20,you've certainly shown your true colours. You're amused by "bell end" and "knobhead" comments? The crux of it is anyway is that no-one knows whether these comments are from Leeds fans anyway. It is so easy to post a comment on any site and be whoever you want to be. Any football fan would want to distance themselves from that imbecile on friday night. You're point is destroyed by your sense of humour and thge fact you condone the 8 months of incitement by hf. 106. Hf, as ever I respect your comments as they tend to be alot more intelligent than those from the idiots that visit this site.

However, you still make NO reference to the Istanbul chants made by the Sheffield Wednesday supporters.

Putting aside your hatred of LUFC/Warnock PLEASE answer these simple questions. Is it acceptable for Jones to condem the personal paedo chants/label Leeds fans as animals without making any reference to the Istanbul chants made by a greater number of his own supporters? In addition, should he be held accountable for this (surely a greater crime than clapping 99% of your supporters or commenting on an attack that in reality was no more physical than 2challenges made by a Wednesday player) ? If you did your homework you would realise that an extremely similar episode happened against Cardiff City back in 2007.

Yes, Jones may not be a padeo but clearly a spineless, pathetic individual wouldn't you agree? If it werent for obvious reasons I would be happy to release my name/address and tell him this to his face.

Please try and see both sides and maybe sit on the fence a little more. If its your own club then fair enough.
