GFH Capital Stalling Over Leeds Takeover

Oh dear. So we were all led to believe that the take over would happen this week. The Yorkshire Post said the deal was close. Very close. The exclusivity agreement was scheduled to expire. Other parties were expressing an interest. A mystery Saudi bidder was in the pipeline. A rich Yank fancied a bit of Leeds. And GFH Capital said there was nothing standing in the way of the deal.

Nothing standing in the way of the deal? If that's the case, why the hell have GFH Capital requested an extension to the exclusivity agreement? And if other parties are interested, why the hell has Master Bates agreed to it?

There's something very rotten in the state of Bahrain if you ask me. King Ken is wandering around his penthouse asking "To Bahrain or not to Bahrain, that is the question". Former players are muttering, "Alas poor Yorath, we should have known better!" And meanwhile, the long suffering Leeds fans continue to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous lack of fortune - eighteenth in the Championship, three points from the last 18, a 1-6 home reverse to modest Watford, Neil Warnock's tactical gibberish, injuries, suspensions...

And the Guardian - that Manchester rag - has only gone and carried an article asking huge questions about GFH's ability to operate as a going concern, never mind its capacity to find 44 million to buy Leeds and a further 8 million to fund transfers.

None of this will be conducive to spirits inside the Leeds dressing room. The uncertainty continues. There's increasing talk of a relegation fight. There's even rumours of Warnock being appointed Scotland's new manager - well he can't get relegated from the Premier League in that role can he? Mind you, there's no danger of that happening at Leeds any time soon given they can't get into the Prem in the first place!

This is all so strange. Leeds are a huge club according to their fans. You can buy the whole shebang for a modest 44 million. Why isn't there a queue of potential buyers?

Perhaps because outside of Leeds, people put more store in the present and the future rather than in living in the past!

  9. Never posted here before.Season ticket holder since I was 14. 47 now. I read your posts from time to time, sometimes I have a quiet giggle, sometimes I want to break your neck. What you have written today however seems very near the mark. This is not good. For the first time in my life I wish I wasn't a Leeds fan. It is as they say, very grim up north.

  10. Do you do any sort of research into what you write? If you did you may stop yourself from writing complete crap! Most of this is pure speculation and the rest complete rubbish.

You can not buy the whole 'shebang' as you put it for 44 million! You are only buying the name and a threadbare squad. The rest will cost you upwards of another 20 or so million. Not many people want to buy it as it is very much overpriced any Leeds fan can see that one.

Just try thinking a little before you actually release your next load of bollocks! Might not make you sound like such an idiot

  11. Hammersfan, did you have to move abroad because of your convictions ?

  12. You have written at least 17 crap articles about Leeds this month alone and less than 10 about your own piss pot club. We're not famous anymore

  13. What a fool this soft southern fairy is, support yer own team mate they need it, leave all this takeover talk to us proper fans, we will be back . We know it you know it .

  14. You never proactively go out and write about anything that's new. All you do is react to the same old shit news. Pretty much like every other news article on here talking about the impending takeover or "potential takeover". The only difference is YOU alone stick the poison in for what ever sad reason you may have. Why don't you get a girlfriend or a life, stop feeling inadequate and forget about Leeds. Believe me, we will be here well after you have moved on to another, more softer target! With or without a takeover!!!!!!!!!!!!! MOT MOT

  15. Tell Tom, he may just have just come back from Afgan but that dosn't wash, my son came back last year and is due to go back next month so all though we are proud of him and all the people out there he dons't have talk bollocks, and talking of bollocks 15 million people wanting to shut down, who do you think you are some big hitting blogg writer, you write bollocks, talk bollocks, look like a bollock, but yet you have no bollocks hiding behind your web site.

  16. You comment yourself about there being 3 interested in buying, then end with a question as to why people aren't queueing up.

    I would call 3 a queue myself.

    MUPPET

  17. A queue for what exactly? If none of them actually want to buy? If there is a queue, why did Bates extend the exclusivity period? That's the point!

what would be the point? No other potential buyers would surely mean no need for exclusivity.
      dummass!

  18. Good to see Hammersfan getting battered in the comments section again.

    Becoming a regular thing!

The blogs getting ever more desperate and the criticism ever more scathing.

Lap it up you pathetic little bitch!

  19. Bates extended the time gift have got so they could complete the deal with the best care, so the football league people think they can run the club.

  20. Totally agree with this "west ham" blog for once. most Leeds fans dont give two shits any more about the t/o, the rest are arguing between each other on blogs designed like this, so the authors of them can stroke one off t the pleasure they get at the reactions towards the blogs and each other. As this deal is all being done on the quiet im worrying if gfh have the money to improve us. as it stands Leeds are a bottom half of the championship club at best! We were relegated from the premier at the worse time possible (before parachute payments came into play i think) and since then the top premiership teams have had vast investment where as we've lost anything or anyone with value. its goin to take a monumental amount of money to correct the ridsdale days. no quick fix will resolve the mess Leeds are in. as we say... we're not famous anymore!!! Remember we are Leeds UNITED people lets stay united keep our chins up high ignore the shit people say and write on these blogs and maybe not this year or next but maybe soon we will be back where we want to be. we don't deserve to be there until we are ready!!!

  21. what difference does it make if they delay it another week or 2? you dont seem to grasp it hf...... they are looking towards the january window to strengthen the squad so as long as it is done by then everything is fine mate!...........next!

Last year he gave snoddy and howson a delia smith cook book that sort of back fired but big ken loves it big Neil is getting another pair of 40inch chest tracky bottoms

    We all love Leeds

  25. What's the deal with these Leeds fans referring to your father HF, sick minded and completely uncalled for

    ReplyDelete
  26. What does Hammersfan know about the extension to the exclusivity period and what Bates agreed to and what the duration of the extension is?
He knows fcuking nothing just like the rest of us.

That's the basis of this article. No real facts based on a few further headlines he reads in News Now every day.

Hammersfan, can't write anything original on this whole saga, he has said it all over and over and over ad-nausiam.

The real point of it is to make the 'long suffering'Leeds supporters suffer more by stirring it up again and again
