Interesting. Backed into a bit of a corner in the post match Talk Bollocks interview, Allardyce repeated the myth that West Ham cannot buy without selling because of the new financial regulations for clubs in the Prem. A slightly intimidated interviewer had the audacity, like this blog, to raise the issue of Spurs and Sunderland, and Allardyce replied that it was down to the authorities to act.
Of course, he knows they won't. He knows the first checkpoint isn't until February of 2015, a date deliberately chosen to allow this and three further windows to slam shut, and he knows that the penalties have not even been specified and, legally, the "football authorities" wouldn't have a leg to stand on if they tried to retrospectively impose a penalty which hadn't been clarified at the time of the offence.
So, irrespective of the sale of Bale - which wasn't guaranteed when Spurs splurged the cash - we all know that Tottenham must have broken the salary rule. You're not going to tell me that the wages of those sold will cover those of the foreign legion brought in! And as for Sunderland, Di Canio has recruited 11 so far and is looking for more!
West Ham fans have been taken for mugs. We have surrendered five points anyway by not bringing in a half decent striker and suddenly a relegation battle looms because we are short of target after that defeat at home to Stoke and 4 points shy of what we got from the equivalent fixtures last season. But how many of the Claret and Blue Klan swallowed the propaganda of Sullivan just as they lapped up the warm milky words of The Grand Puppet Master Duxbury?
I wish I had been conducting that interview! My follow up question would have been, "So if there is any truth in this financial rules cobblers, why the fcuk did you spend the precious budget on Downing? Dead leg? How about dead brain, dead desire and dead ability?"
Hahahahahahahaha
ReplyDeleteThat's what I love about West Ham fans. Although you hate us Spurs fans for reasons unknown to me, you do talk a lot of sense. Good Article.
ReplyDeleteYou are a seriously confused football fan. This article makes very little sense. You should stick to subjects that you have some knowledge about otherwise you are just wasting your own and other peoples time. Tottenham are ready for ffp. The big question is are West Ham.
ReplyDeleteYeah, don't worry about man City, Chelsea etc. Spurs have a net spend of next to nothing over the past few years. Allardyce should be more worried who is going to watch he's brand of football in that nice new stadium that west Ham were basically given for free at the tax payers expense.
ReplyDeleteWhat on earth are you banging on about????
ReplyDeleteSpurs are one of the most financially astute clubs in europe.
We never spend above our means.
Apart from the fact that we are likely to generate 125+ mil this summer alone from sales, the club itself is also very wealthy!!!
There is absolutely no comparison to spurs spending and that of clubs like chelsea, man city, monaco etc.
however i will agree with you on one point,
West ham will do well to stay up!!
Shut up, spurs are playing by the rules! Keep talking bubbles haha
ReplyDeleteBentley, gallas, huddlestone, Dempsey, Parker, caulker, Livermore. That's an awful lot of big wages off the bill this summer at spurs. Plus a 3 million sell on from dos santos....
ReplyDeleteI'm not for a minute saying that the wage bill for the new players will balance, but people do tend to concentrate on the players IN, whilst forgetting the players OUT. that's a lot of dead wood, and not figuring the bale deal spurs have made £23 mil from sales, plus the savings in wages.
Methinks Allerdyce needs to do his sums. I'm pretty sure Levy has.
Starting the season with one injured striker is nothing short of mismanagement. This wage cap rule is not binding as Spurs and Sunderland have proved. Having ten midfielders does not help either, that is also mismanagement. A pub team wouldn't start with one injured and injury prone striker. I can honestly see relegation if another quality striker or two isn't brought in. These chairman talk a good fight but have consistently failed to deliver.
ReplyDelete16 mill for 1 player we could have got 2 decent strikers for that but sam likes long ball, for he has got no tactical ability.

ReplyDeleteGood ol' Sam.
ReplyDeleteAlways finds something to whinge about.
He can always make more cash by starring for his employers in doing what he knows best: being a ????
Actually it is even worse than that. Some mysterious(no doubt oil) money has resurrected the great achiever of Euro PC history: the "Bosman" lawyer(no doubt previously interred in oblivion) and is using him to mount a challenge against the FFA in the name of fair capitalist trading and free economy. Going by the last photo I hope he has some makeup on when he appears in court.
ReplyDeleteBig Sam wants to keep his big fat mouth shut
ReplyDeleteagree with most of that son but downing was brought in for Carroll and Sam loves Carroll to have those balls on his head supplied by downing and Jarvis. Both good at crosses and that's sams style and only that style. Hasn't a clue on changing tactics clueless on subs as shown again on sat with maiga and Nolan completely lost. Talented Morrison should be playing in Nolan's spot and Nolan pushed up instead of maiga. two strikers asp quality needed . The two Davids are businessmen mate that means filling your pockets in gold not spending it on our team like Sunderland and spurs and Swansea and Norwich. IMO.
ReplyDeleteAs a Spurs fan I am astonished to read this about that fat pig of a manager of yours, Spurs have been a profit making club the last 10 years and have only once broken their wages structure. That was for the Pepperami Worrier (Ade bye or) for whom MCFC are paying a third so they could get rid of him. Scott Parker was earning more than an any of our new signings and Dempsey wasn't here on the cheap either. The fact that your manager wasted nearly his whole budget on striker with a poor injury record and the clown that Harry Redknapp kept going after, Downing, is something that WHUFC fans are stuck with, and as for yours owners, a nine bob note might explain your current situation. I doubt very much if WHUFC had bought a teenage player and helped him blossom into one of the finest players to grace the Premiership would have sold him for the lowest available price to the corrupt and egotistical Madridstas who through tapping up forced us to sell Bale, and as Bale's sale price has to be logged with the Stock Market and the Inland Revenue as have all the comings and goings of this summer, it will transpire that we are in the red over this summer by a couple of million at worst and we still await £15m-£20 for Modric. Outside of transfers, Spurs have made a huge amount of money through legitimate dealings around the world, again all of which is notified to the aforementioned authorities. So Spurs are well within the rules of the FPP now never mind in 2 years time. Sounds like Sam is already is worried about getting the sack this season and just trying to divert attention to other clubs.
ReplyDeleteGallas 60k Bentley 60k Caulker 25k Parker 80k Huddlestone 50k Dempsey 70k Bale 120k add on Adebayor looking likely to go so there's another 100k
ReplyDeleteSoldado 64k ( £4m bonus from Valencia in transfer fee ) Paulinho 70k Capoue 50k Chadli 50k Chiriches 40k Lamela 80k Eriksen 80k
Won't be too much difference, same as the fees.
"A relegation battle looms" For fuck's sake we've played three games! Get a grip man. And I'm interested to hear how we got 8 points from three games at the start of last season? maybe you'd feel more at home at Shite Hart Lane pal.
ReplyDeletesunderland has a net spend of 4m...
ReplyDeletewe are in for a poor season...i have been saying for a long time noble is very very slow and poor! nolan does not contribute anything at all! (i know he scores goals before all nolan lovers go mad) downing is poor o brian and demel are poor! so where does that leave us well it leaves us with no pace at all, strength apart from diame and old players on massive wages and contracts same old story! all teams bar none have bought young, pacey, strong on the ball players and we will be left behind again!! oh plus our football is sooo boring its become a joke!
ReplyDeleteGreat post. Nails the whole farcical FFP spin from SuGo for me.
ReplyDeleteGood arrows, Sir
Oh dear. How "precious" are you?
ReplyDeleteidiot.
Ha, yes Spurs must off, having Offloaded high earners, Huddlestone, Jenas, Dempsey, Parker, Caulker and Bentley which is 6 players and replacing them with 7!
ReplyDeleteA Clear breach, LOL! Check your FACTS!
Check your facts, Spurs have sold high earners, Jenas, Bentley, Huddlestone, Parker, Gallas and probably slightly less so Livermore, Caulker and moved on a number of others too. We have SOLD MORE than we have brought!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/tottenham-hotspur/transfers/verein_148.html
Relegation battle looms ? You've completely lost it mate. Stop crying, stop moaning. This is west ham. Fcuk off n spurs or Chelsea if your not happy. Mug
ReplyDeleteI love a conspiracy but there does seem some things that don't add up. Baring in mind Sam has one way of playing and no plan B surely another centre forward should of been a priority.
ReplyDeleteIn fairness I really think that the signing of Downing is a really good player but cannot understand why Cole was not retained, far better in so many ways the Maiga.
We of started the season with only Carroll on the books! The money must be there, I have read how much money Gold etc has and he cant take it with him, so there has to be something else happening. Back handed deal or something? Everyone else is spending but not West Ham.
Not as if we have spent that much really, what 20 Million? In a sense we may have already had Carroll, so something is not adding up
arrh, sam, bless him. long ball mug
ReplyDeleteWhy do all you Tottenham fans visit and comment on a West Ham blog so regularly? I'm genuinely curious why you would choose to spend your time this way.
ReplyDeleteWITHOUT A DOUBT YOUR FAMILY DIDN'T NOTHING IN THE WAR EXCEPT WEAR WHITE FEATHERS, YOU ARE A YELLOW LIVED CRY BABY.... AND CERTAINLY NO CLARET BLOOD RUNS THROUGH YOUR VAINS.
ReplyDeleteQuite frankly I could care less about other teams business. We all know that football has changed and every team is guilty at some point however I could see this striker issue approaching from a mile away. A strong midfield is fine but if we cant score on a regular basis, we will not compete with the so-called big boys
ReplyDeleteSAM YOUR GOB IS AS WIDE AS THE THAMES A REAL BIG CHILD WHO HAS THROWN HIS DOLL OUT OF THE PRAM ONCE AGAIN .
ReplyDeleteSomething to do ennit? Just trying to keep the energy up.
ReplyDeleteYou mean it wasn't guaranteed to you, but was guaranteed to Spurs or are you suggesting that a majoe business hasn't a clue what it's doing.
ReplyDeleteActually the wages of the players we have bought in are less than the existing wage bill becuase we have bought in players from leagues who don't pay massive wages, Soldado for instance was on 1.5m EUR which is £24,588 a week, now he is still only on £67k a week (less than Gareth Bale, Clint Dempsey, £7K more than Gallas, Parker, Bentley) all of whom are no longer on the wage bill. Chadli was from a small league on low wages as was Chiriches so £25K a week each pays for them. Lamela is on £66K a week.
ReplyDeleteYou really ought to check your facts before you spout jealous nonsense.
The dog's dinner that is FFP was highlighted as such by Martin Samuel writing in the Daily Mail some months ago. It was supported by and heavily favours the 'big clubs' in order to preserve their places at the top of the 'top table'. West Ham's joint chairman have certainly subscribed to the FFP idea with their constant referral to it. Remains to be seen what happens tomorrow with, supposedly Taylor and Vaz Te on their way but I won't be holding my breath.
ReplyDeleteOn the subject of Tottenham and how they have balanced their 'sacred' wage structure only goes to show how much they were overpaying crocks like Bentley, Gallas Parker et al. I do agree with others on here HF that you are panicking after only 3 games...you could be proved right of course, but I'll keep my powder dry for a few months yet. COYI
It is NOT about how much clubs spend on transfers. When are you half-wits going to realise this? It is about now much clubs spend on wages. Clubs can only spend £4m per year more than they did last year. This is what this is about. It doesn't matter how "financially astute" Tottenham or any other club is. So, how can Sunderland bring in ELEVEN new players and not increase their wage bill by more than £4m per year? Even if they shipped out 4 players and brought 11 in - £4m per year is around £11k per per week per player. Do you really believe that these new players are earning that? Nor do I.Cardiff have brought in 7 players and let 3 fringe players go on frees. Do you really believe that they have not broken the FFP rules? Crystal Palace have brought in 12 players. Etc etc etc. West Ham are abiding by the rules and it appears that other clubs are not
ReplyDeleteClassic example of an article being written without knowledge of the facts, certainly about Sunderland anyway. The majority of players coming in are youngsters or out of contract players and the wages are relatively low. Even Giacharrini was only on £15k a week at Juve and we've given him £25k. But, we've released Killgallon and Bramble, both on £35k per week and Bardsley and Cattermole will leave shortly, again both on £30k plus per week. Other people released like McFaddon and some youngsters all saved money so our overall wage difference is small. Prior to any of this the Chief Executive said we could only increase our wage bill by 10% sto stay within the FFP rules and will work to this ruling. That's why we've signed no-one for the last few weeks until we move Cattermole, Bardsley and Sessegon on as well as any others we may get offers for.
ReplyDeleteOur net spend on transfer fees is only about £5m due to the money we got for Mignolet with our only biggish fees being for Giacharrini and Altidore.
IT IS NOT ABOUT TRANSFER FEES FFS !! It is about WAGES
ReplyDeletewet spam fans are mugs just like your little club
ReplyDeleteListen to the Spuds mugs talking like they are a real football team. Levy is the biggest two faced smug c..t in football.Hated by eveyone. Oh ! and as for the honest Totenham are they the same club convicted of phone hacking after being told to piss of from the olympic stadium. Did Arsenal beat them again today?
ReplyDeleteha ha, you spuds always have so much to say about us, looking at all these comments makes me realise why i love taking the p'ss out of you spuds!! i would never bother looking at your blog, two more losses and you fickle lot will be calling for AVB's head, LOL!!
ReplyDeleteCOYI's
you sir, are a joke!
ReplyDeleteWest Ham have got away with a lot worse over the last few years. Tevez and the Financing your nice oversized Stadium. Check your facts and then stop throwing stones in your glass house. BTW keep hearing you advertise for tickets for your home games on TalkSport. How the hell do you hope to fill the OS stadium? Mugs
ReplyDeleteDirty little pikey mugs. You're just a pub team from Essex and that's the only reason why no one wants to sign for u bunch of heather selling gypo cnuts
ReplyDeleteDirty little pikeys. Ideas well above your station. Spouting this a nd that about where u should be. You're ju.st a pub team from Essex that can't, even sell out its little shithole of a stadium let alone the Olympic stadium what a white elephant that will become.
ReplyDeleteMiserable W Ham, C$%ts, yes god knows why they hate Spurs but then there you go, they do and that's all they have.
ReplyDeleteTo the guy above, Levy is a legend, he works for people that make England viable, you illiterate nasty piece of sh5t
Talk about your own shit team.
ReplyDeleteOur spending isn't purely based on the financial fair play. We have a serious amount of debt that the owners are trying to pay off before the OS move. Signing copious amounts of players wouldn't help this at all. Look at Sunderland, signed 11 players so far and have looked hopeless. The real triumph this year has been keeping the squad together, besides Carlton and O'Neil. All that is needed is one more backup striker. If you ask me, needing just one position filled is a great triumph considering the awful business that west ham fans have been put through in the past.
ReplyDeleteYou're not going to tell me that the wages of those sold will cover those of the foreign legion brought in!
ReplyDeleteAnd you base this on what exactly? Gallas and Parker were both on 80k a week, Dempsey £75k, Big Tom 60k, Bently £60k, Bale £85k. There were an additional 5 players including Caulker moved from the wage bill also. So we can safely say £490k a week off the wage bill.
NONE of the new players are on more than £85k basic a week. Soldado(previously was on £55k) and Paulinho (unknown previous salary) will be on that. Lamela (was on £30k a week at his last club) will be on about 60k max probably less. Chadli, Capoue, and Chiriches weren't even on £20k a week previously so won't be on more than £40k even if they were offered double your money contracts which is doubtful. Eriksen was on about £25k so will be on no more than 50k probably less. This would be a total of £400k a week added.
Even if we handed most of them double what they were on before which is unlikely, we will be paying out no more than we were to the players released.
Just because West Ham pay some players (Carrol and Downing to name two both on over 80k a week at Liverpool) wages that are unsustainable for a club of their size. Don't think a well run club like Spurs will.
'Exciting times to be a West Ham fan'
ReplyDelete- half full Olympic stadium
- Andy Carroll leading the line
- hoof ball football
What? You clearly know nothing about Spurs, and are blinded by hate. Spurs and Arsenal are the only English clubs challenging for Europe who desperately want the FFP to be bought in and be a strongly enforced rule. Levy balances the books to the finest detail, always making a profit. And so far has done so again.
ReplyDeleteWest Ham are not "abiding by the rules". They just can't attract anyone. Poxy little no-history club, about to lose its only benefit - atmosphere. The new stadium will suck as a football venue.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to finger point at teams being financially unviable then I'd start with Chelski or Citeh. Tottenham are run by ENIC as a business. Their top line objective is to make money from the club not pour it into a black hole of crazy wages and inflated transfer fees like the aforementioned.
ReplyDeletePerhaps Big Sam should steer clear of moral arguments regarding transfer fees. After all him and his son don't exactly have a great reputation on that front! Glass houses, stones and all that stuff ..........
fanny you submit a post, get 39 replies and don't reply to any of them, mmwwwwaaaahhhhhaaahhhaaaa - I think the general consensus is you don't know what you/re talking about
ReplyDeleteWhy Spurs fans are commenting on a West Ham blog? It pops up on Spurs section on newsnow, with a big headline of how Fat Sam says Spurs should be punished. Go figure.
ReplyDeleteWestham will be bigger than Tottenham in the next couple of years FACT
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha ha ha ha ha! Got anymore?
DeleteIt's a sad situation when even football people are talking about their beloved clubs like they are businesses. Let the disgusting chairmen and business deal with that and enjoy the game
ReplyDeleteWest ham have better fans and better atmosphere in their ground lets give them that but when it comes to who's got more money and who is richer it's us. We need to take pride that we have changed football so these great guys like Daniel levy can make more money than they need and real fans can barely afford to go to games.coys let's keep on eating our own bullshit and telling the world tastes good. GOONERS FOR THE DROP
ReplyDeleteTo the thick spud fans who roam around other clubs sites (???)
ReplyDeleteI think your missing the point, this post was aimed at our own club and the ballshite which we are given about not having enough strikers.
Big Sam would have had to answer this way when questioned so not to contradict his chairman. Doubt very much he gives a shite about the spuds or how much they have spent on wages i know i dont.
To be fair yids.. It's Sam Allardyce whos the numpty, not this guy..
ReplyDeleteYou can't expect him to know Spurs' previous and present wage bills. He probably just assumes that because of the quality and quantity being bought in in exchange for lack of quality *minus Bale* going out would mean higher wages..
Spurs have had a great transfer window..
I think West Hams has been decent and will still survive comfortably (relatively) - probably 10/11/12th..
I never even noticed Sunderland were spending a lot?!
Any transfers for west ham? Please say something went through!?
ReplyDeleteGreat article here for you to get your grey matter around you bubble blowing maniacs
