What a joke, but, to quote The Smiths, that joke ain't funny anymore, it's too close to home and too near the bone!
The window has closed and unless transfer papers have been couriered in secret, Sullivan, Gold & Allardyce haves decided that plan B really is one plan too many. We have Andy Carroll, so why do we need anybody else?
True Carroll is injury prone. True we have lost 5 points already because we have nobody to play up top when Carroll is injured. And true Carroll tends to have barren spells even when playing. But none of that is a problem, it seems.
Who needs a striker? Who needs goals? We have Downing and Jarvis to pump the ball into the box, and the stats say that if you get the ball in the opposition box enough times in a game, you are bound to score. I mean, eventually, an opponent with nobody to mark will put the ball in his own bloody net!
This is mismanagement on a monumental scale. It threatens to be a long depressing season. And if we go down, Sullivan will get exactly what he deserves!
Sam has gone total football like Spain no need for a striker. I look forward to sexy football at the Boleyn
ReplyDeletePlayers should have been shifted out much earlier. Diarra for one but now he's injured and stuck on our wage bill, Vaz Te said he wanted to go and so a deal should have been forced through immediately. I think we will pay a heavy price.
ReplyDeleteWhat a "joke" your Leeds blogs are,or to quote The Smiths..............! People in glass houses should not throw stones. In west hams case they'd most likely miss anyway. Prepare for the drop suckers.
ReplyDeleteI agree great times are ahead !in Sam we trust!
ReplyDeleteI COULD NOT AGREE MORE THE BOARD AND THE MANAGER ARE A DISGRACE AND I TELL YOU NOW AFTER SATURDAYS PERFORMANCE AGAINST STOKE WE ARE IN TROUBLE.EVERYBODY NEW WE NEEDED STRIKERS BUT DID WE GET ANY NO,WE COULD NOT EVEN GET RID OF VAZ TE,THATS THE TROUBLE AT WEST HAM TO MUCH DEAD WOOD,WE SHOULD HAVE HAD A CLEAR OUT BEFORE THIS TRANSFER WINDOW,AND AS FOR ALLERDYCE SAYING ABOUT FINISING HIGHER THAN LAST YEAR "NO CHANCE".AS FOR THE JOKE FEE WE PAID FOR CARROLL,BESIDES THE FACT HE IS INJURY PRONE HE DID NOT DO MUCH LAST YEAR BEARING IN MIND NOLAN WAS TOP SCORER,IF HE WAS ANY GOOD WHY DID NEWCASTLE AND LIVERPOOL GET RID OF HIM AND WHY DIDN'T ANY BODY ELSE COME IN FOR HIM.AND WHY DID WE NOT GO FOR LOANEES LIKE BA, LUKAKA,I WILL TELL YOU WHY BECAUSE THEY PLAY FOOTBALL AND ALL ALLERDYCE IS BOTHERED ABOUT IS LONG BALLS,SO WELL DONE THE MANAGER AND THE BOARD,DON'T MOAN IF WE GO DOWN,NO GOOD HAVING A FLASH NEW STADIUM IF YOUR IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP OR LESS.
ReplyDeleteIt would appear that the Board and the Manager have faith in the players they have. The alternative view is that they made errors in judgement and painted themselves in a corner. However much as we might dislike it, we are where we are, and it is likely to be a very nerve racking season, because if we get injuries then we have very little cover at the back or up front and that should be obvious even to our Board and Manager.
ReplyDeleteI wonder whether they will bring Carlton Cole back temporarily to cover in the short term? Not ideal, but at least he is available and would not commit us long term.
ReplyDeleteChill out we in a good place I don't actually think we need strikers I just think Sam needs to go 4-4-2 with Morrison and modibo and turgott used as front players
ReplyDeleteEven if we bought a striker doesn't mean he would score either
Really gutted we couldn't get any striker on deadline day.. Not that I don't rate Downing, but we were in need of a striker for a while now, so why the hell didn't anything materialize?! The way things are going, we MIGHT be okay when Carroll is fit, but what happens when he's injured?! At the moment, I am not sure we can even finish in the top half of the table.. Thank goodness though, that we still have 2 weeks until the loan window closes..
ReplyDeleteYou can't loan players in! Only championship down can! Loops ha ha ha ha ha
DeleteHave no fear - the goal machine that is Carlton Cole is coming back, just having a medical. Still, at least he's loyal.....
ReplyDeleteThe owners and Allardyce are clearly not up to the job. The worst football I've ever seen at WHU - supported since the late 1950s - the worst set of owners ever- not 'saviours' at all. And finally, all our transfer negotiations conducted in public by a 12 year old boy. What a 'king carry on. WH fans put up with some crap over the years, but this takes the biscuit....
...and lastly, all the payers we took from L'Pool currently injured. Mugged again.
ReplyDeleteits ok.DONT WORRY EVERYONE.carlton cole is BACK.
ReplyDeletechampions league football next season.get in!
We still have Carlton Cole put him up front let Downing and Jarvis ping em in and he will score Nolen can pick up any loose stuff . While we pay Vaz Te he can play as well . Chins up lads weve been in worst situations .
ReplyDeleteThe smiths?!?! hahahaha at university? the best years of your life?
ReplyDeleteCarlton Cole, You could not make it up. Seriously, no one would believe you. This strikes me as sub desperate transfer deadline day panic buying. Like the grim reaper, the spectre of Championship football looms large. Do you think you'll fluke a return next time HF?
ReplyDeleteClubless Carlton Cole rejoins West Ham United because no other striker would.....That has got to be the funniest thing I have ever heard (up there with Warnock Jnr snubbing you for Leeds in the second division last year). Ha ha ha ha ha!!
ReplyDeleteI predict a riot. Actually whilst were on the subject of predictions - I predict that whilst this site is still operational and you're not on one of your excursions to North Korea (or the moon or wherever it is this time) you will not go A SINGLE WEEK without writing an article on Leeds United. What do you think??
Your bang on mate
