West Ham - A log jam in the U bend!

So, we play Barnsley today, one week into the January transfer window, and who have we signed exactly? Sidwell was nailed on but, after a tour of Wolverhampton, he has joined Fulham instead. Demba Ba is in London apparently, but there's been no sign of him at Upton Park. Robbie Keane is being linked with us, but why would Tottenham do us any favours? If he joins us, Tottenham will be overcharging and Keane will have a deep seated injury nobody outside of 'Arry's inner sanctum knows anything about.

Of course, we are in the ultimate log jam. The 25 man squad is packed full of shit, and nobody can force it round the u-bend. Half of Italy supposedly wants Behrami. The trouble is, they all know we are desperate to sell and so are not prepared to meet our valuation. McCarthy has been linked with a move to the States, but Burger King don't have a soccer team yet and nobody else is interested in a Whopper. Cole might have been on Merseyside by now, but why would the Liverpool board back Hodgson's judgement when they are so close to sacking him?

I keep reading fans nominating the players we should sell, but they don't understand that to sell, you have to first find a buyer. Kovac was heading for Stoke in August until the injuries forced a rethink. But who would buy Kovac now and waste a valuable squad place in the process? Amazingly a German side wanted Spector, but exorcisms aint easy and he has decided to haunt the Boleyn until the end of this season at least.  Unfortunately, Real Madrid have road tested Faubert now, so there's no chance of him marking Messi anytime soon. And Ilunga woouldn't even show up for a medical! Why buy Upson when he is on a Bosman in the summer? And why would he go, and take a wage cut earlier than necessary? Some idiot said we should sell Dyer! Sell Dyer? That's like trying to sell terminal cancer!

The fact is, there's probably only one player we CAN sell at the moment and Tottenham's interest in Parker has cooled anyway.

So we will read the rumours, we will hear the promises about shuffling the pack, but what can Grant do if nobody will sit down at the table and do business with Sullivan and Gold?

We are in the ultimate Catch 22; or Catch 25 actually!

  1. Like you Fanno I have supported Grant but the defeat to Newcastle has been hard to stomach. Just heard Hodgson is free from his nightmare reign at Liverpool. Perfect for the mighty Hammers?

  2. Yeh because the awesome signings of Poulsen and Konchesky substantiate his ability of finding players and him achieving a record of 9 points from his first 13 games at Fulham will definitely do the trick here!

  3. Grant should stay, if only because there's little other options. I doubt Hodgeson will want to go from the worst era in his career to an even worse one of getting us relegated.

  4. Well you supported G&S too HF. I'm not surprised no one wants to sign for them and no one wants to play for Grant.

The guys on Soccer Saturday said that if there was any team to get in players first in the window it should have been us. The fact that we have not says a lot about our chairmen and manager.

This is Brady's excuse in her column to why Sidwell did not come:

"VILLA'S Steve Sidwell seems about to sign a full contract with Fulham... and I wish him a lot of luck.

I had to tell Steve that for various reasons - none his fault - we had changed our mind about signing him on loan.

This was a filthy task but in the end it was decided that, with 13 midfielders and most of the injured about to return, we couldn't promise him regular first-team football and he'd hardly be in a better position than at Villa Park. "

Utter rubbish. If that was the case, why the hell was we going for him and wasting our time when we could be finding players for other positions?

    Swindlers

  5. I supported G&S yes, and continue to do so. They saved the club from Administration.

The Sidwell situation is simple. Sears has performed above expectations, Hines is not as badly injured as was feared, Noble is back earlier than expected, Behrami is still at the club - oh and 'Arry doesn't want Parker anymore.

  6. Any of the three wanting to buy us would have saved us from administration. And probably would have done more than these swindlers by now.

At least you admit that Zola kept us up fighting administration though.

  7. . . .& we have Hitz' coming back
    & Collison!!!

I support G&S, they did SAVE US from admin, Fernandes was never a viable option due to the loans he wanted to take.
We're LUCKY to have them, despite their faults (& they do have faults!!!)
But, in saying that, it is NOW time for them to prove themselves. . .dig deep gentlemen, dig deep

  8. Any of the three? Which three? Are you counting the Italian or the company whose COE died before the final bids were submitted and who never came up with the dosh anyway? You favour Fernandez for obvious reasons. Like you favour Bopara. It's getting a bit transparent Stani.

  9. Hahaha! Absurd! You're going mad HF, bonkers!

  10. Why?

What do you make of Jack Straw's comments, by the way, in the light of your "respect" argument and your condemnation of English girls as "sluts"?

    ReplyDelete
  11. I said the naked women in the pictures you put up were. When did I say English girls are sluts? You trouble making disgrace. For that I am leaving this blog. You disgraceful childish liar. You have no shame. If you want to believe what this guy says people, it's up to you. But he is a deceptive trouble maker. Shame on you HF.

  12. Your exact words Stani:

"That pic is in bad taste HF so I suggest you remove it. You need to control yourself sometimes and not act so immature and deliberately provocative. The value of these girls is a million times more than that of those scantily clad slags you put on here."

The problem Jack Straw identified is that SOME Islamic men value women from their own religion and culture more highly than women from other religions and cultues - and you were referring to a picture of Islamic girls and valuing them more highly than western "slags".

YOUR exact words Stani are, "The VALUE of these girls is a MILLION TIMES MORE than that of those scantily clad slags you put on here". I see no more "value" in one human being than any other, leaving aside murderers and TRULY evil people of course.

I apologise, I remembered the word as "sluts", you in fact said "slags" but they mean the same thing don't they? I believe Mr Straw is addressing an attitude where SOME Muslim men feel it is OK to sexually abuse these girls because of the way western girls dress and behave. One of the girls was just 12 years old - far too young to understand and to be labelled a "slag"; although quite what right you or anybody else has to use that word in judgement of others - women you have never met - is beyond me. Mr Straw, suggests that it is this kind of attitude that is leading to the rapes.

I asked you your opiniion Stani. You said that Islam respects women - the question Mr Straw is asking is, does that respect extend to ALL women, or only to women within the faith? I assume you personally condemn all sexual abuse of women - although Sharia does not recognise rape within marriage and will punish consenting sex outside of marriage - so that is not the issue. I wonder if, rather than flouncing off, you would like to re-evaluate what you said. Is one woman of more VALUE than another woman or are all women of equal value, all worthy of the same respect?

Can you see how, if we VALUE one woman more than another because of the way she dresses, it LEADS to men DISRESPECTING women who do not conform to their ideas, and once a culture of DISRESPECT takes hold, it becomes easier to abuse?

I asked you a question Stani, based on Jack Straw's words and your own words. I ask more questions here. I have not passed any judgements myself so do not understand why you are taking issue with me.

Is Mr Straw - an MP who has represented a constituency with a very large Muslim community - racist and Islamaphobic, or does he have a point?

Typically, Mr Straw is being accused of stereotyping. He is doing no such thing. He is not saying TYPICALLY, he is identifying a problem and being honest about it. I am not saying he is right, but he does have the RIGHT to talk about the issue, just as I will afford you the RIGHT to say why he is wrong, or right, on here - if you choose to take it.

  13. By the way, you made a slight error. You claimed that you had referred to "naked women"; you in fact referred to "scantily clad slags". There is a big distinction here. My daughter will go out to a club "scantily clad" but would not dream of going out naked. The problem comes when some see the showing of legs as the same as parading naked. That is again what Mr Straw is addressing. My daughter dresses to impress but is not "easy meat" and is not a "slag". And long term boyfriend would deck you if you said differently.

  14. Stani leaving this blog again! Deja-vu I think HF, although I'm sure he'll return as he just can't resist your wind-ups! I hope so as he still owes me an answer on his opinion of Muslim slave labour in the Gulf region, one of many points (like your topic here) that he and his type always ignore or twist in the rose tinted world of their religion.

  15. All stani does is twist peoples words and he cant help being proved wrong Noble is just one case ih he had the odd bad game like at newcastle even though he was out if position he ignores that and accuses noble of why we played so bad if he plays his usual good game he keeps quiet about noble he is hypocrite and should choose his words carefully when he comments or he can easily be misunderstood by what hes saying

  16. HF,
I told you before not to bring your own daughter into it but you still do. What the hell is wrong with you? Do you not have an ounce of decency? And do not threaten me mate.

And I don't care that Jack Straw said Pakistani boys go after white girls and that white girls are easy meat. Why should I? You should care because your opinion of women is more in common with them. You should also care because he admitted that sexual assault prison wings are dominated by white males.

I never said English girls are slags or sluts. You have been proved a liar. Here is an article for your information, not that you're gonna bother reading it because it goes against what you think. You like avoiding the truth right HF? It scares you. That's why you still haven't watched the Hadith documentary I showed you or the Pilger 'The war you dont see' documentary, or bothered having a look at the book 'The Everyday Language of White Racism'. But I'll leave those things with you. At least I have taken away your excuse of 'But nobody told me'. And the link:

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1343954/100-000-Islam-converts-living-UK-White-women-keen-embrace-Muslim-faith.html

"How 100,000 Britons have chosen to become Muslim... and average convert is 27-year-old white woman".

Read it, and dont get angry. Not with me or yourself. Just accept the truth.

It was nice knowing you. You really should give the regular people who make this site what it is - the ones that are commenting less and less now - more appreciation and respect. Without them, it is nothing, just you and the various morons. But you have shown no class, human tact or sensibility and continue to alienate people. Take care HF.

  17. 10:20,
Slavery is not permitted in Islam. You an call it 'Muslim' if you like, but that is because you are a Islamophobic. I would love to debate with you, but those of your ilk are best left to themselves. I have the utmost faith in you that you will do my job for me. Keep going!

I came back because HF asked me to.

  18. Fred,
Back are we Fred? Hahaha. Where do you go when Noble plays crap? I have a present for you before I go:

    - Games Noble has played: We scored 17 goals in 18 games = 0.94 goals per game

    - Games Noble did not play: We scored 17 goals 9 games = 1.9 goals per game.

That is more than 100% difference in the goals scored. We score less, means we win less points with Noble in the team.

    - Games Noble has played, points gained = 10 from possible 42 (League games only). Over a season, this would mean we earn 27 points and RELEGATION.

    - Games Noble did not play, points gained = 10 points from possible 24 (League games only). Over a season, this would mean we earn 47 points and we stay up!!!

I think that concludes the argument.

    Take care Fred.

  19. Then come back again Stani.

It is allowed in Islam, just as it is alloed in Christianity if you trust to the Holy Books!

  20. On the Qatar human rights thread Stani. Put Qatar into search and you will find it.

    Allowed! Typo!

  21. Ah, just found the long reply Stani. It was in Spam for some reason.

Haven't read it yet but I didn't threaten you. I said if you called my daughter easy meat her long term boyfriend would deck you. It was a hypothetical.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I don't think I will come back again HF. I gave you a chance but I don't think you'll change. You'll always cause trouble. When you see something decent, it riles you, that's why you try to bring it down to your level to make yourself feel better. It's like you are being tortured by your own past, your own regrets.

Make sure you jot down all those links/books/documentaries I've told you about so you can visit them some day.

    Good luck with he blog.

  23. 100,000 Britons? Wow! That's 0.16 of a percent!

    ReplyDelete
  24. It was a threat HF. Poor on your behalf. And it wasn't hypothetical because I would never call your daughter easy meat would I? And the thing is, deep down you know this. Although I'm not sure how you know he would be able to deck me.

And tell her long term boyfriend that not everything is solved with a fist....unless one is proper thick.

    ReplyDelete
  25. It was notice that her boyfriend accepts she dresses to impress but would deck anybody who insulted her. He is not so insecure that he needs to hide her in public and he respects her enough to allow her to dress how she wants.

  26. Stani you write - "Slavery is not permitted in Islam. You an call it 'Muslim' if you like, but that is because you are a Islamophobic. I would love to debate with you, but those of your ilk are best left to themselves"
    1. Slavery is not permitted in Islam? - my point precisely, in UAE, Kuwait, and Qatar there are huge construction projects built using Asian labour from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Indonesia (all Muslim I believe?), who are paid a fraction of the money they were promised at home, have their passports confiscated by their Muslim employers so they can not leave or complain as without a passport you are an illegal immigrant, work 16 hour days, 6 day weeks, 52 weeks a year, live in squalid labour camps, oh yes and die in their dozens. I call it slavery, what would you call it?
    2. I am Islamaphobic? Why, because I ask a question you don't wish to confront? For the record I spend a lot of my working life in the Gulf region, hence I have witnessed the "slavery", however many of my closest friends are Muslims, both Shia and Shiite across many countries, so how dare you level such an accusation.
    3. Those of my Ilk? My ilk are an open minded culture that debate and respect other peoples views and opinions. Can you claim to be the same? All I ask was a question and you make the statements I elude to above!
