Parker's Nomination for PFA Player of the Year

Congratulations to Scotty for his nomination. It comes from his fellow professionals so it is difficult to argue against. All those who insist that Parker simply turns circles on the pitch have to eat a generous slice of humble pie.

In truth, there isn't a stand out candidate this season. Rooney has been poor, Berbatov performed brilliantly pre Christmas but isn't a starter now, Lampard and Gerrard have missed chunks of the season due to injury and their teams have under performed, Drogba and Torres have been lack lustre, Bale has missed too many games, in my book, to merit selection...and so it goes on.

So, in the absence of the superstars, this may be the year of the artisan, typified by Parker and Adam, both of whom have given the impression of carrying their teams on their backs. I would have included Kevin Davies in this bracket personally and Birmingham's Johnson, especially in the light of the League Cup triumph. Kevin Nolan would also be amongst my nominations.

If the award is based on class, I would give it to Nasri. But if it is going to be based on effort and drive, Parker deserves it as much as the next man.

I'm astonished Nani was not nominated in the main category.

You r a prick, read your own posts over the past 12 mths, there have been very few critics of Parker because he has been the nuts, but you have been one of them. You will try and dress it up that u have just been saying he has been the problem at west ham because of formation etc etc. But fact is, re read many of the 20 + posts u have made on Parker this season and there is just One Big Fat Twat that should be eating humble pie and that is YOU! Another example of evidence that shows u know nothing!

And you sir are an idiot. Who do you think I was referring to in the opening paragraph?

....I think he just wants some of your pie HF.

All in all, I think they should give it to Charlie Adam. Not only has he carried his team, like Parker, but has shown class too ...and goals and assists. I know how demotivating it can be when you look around and realise the rest of your team is sh*t. It can be frustrating but he's still performed. Filthy bar steward though.

Humility is an alien concept to you as all readers have seen for ages, so a subtle climb down in your first para is both too obstuse to pick up and too little too late. You should have said, "I was wrong, you were all correct and i know nothing and promise to not write utter crap about Scotty again," then it might have worked. Nob choc!

too little too late - and so it's now been proved - you sir are twit!
