Ashton Taking Us To The Cleaners!

Oh dear God, Duxbury does it again! Even after his departure, the guy's monumental cock ups continue to blight us! Ashton has now revealed that we will be paying him £65k a week for the next four years whilst he sits on his arse in a penthouse in the south of France, thanks to a FIVE YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION agreed by Duxbury with no insurance for the existing ankle injury!

Now this blog has its critics but I was predicting that Ashton would never fully recover from his injury BEFORE that contract extension was signed. He had returned obviously overweight, out of condition, immobile and clearly nervous about putting any strain on that ankle. Supporters were asking why he wasn't prepared to jump when a high ball was pumped forward and why he looked uncommitted in a challenge. Capello took one look, shook his head and stamped Ashton damaged goods.

But, of course, when I labelled Ashton "Beano" and said he was taking the club to the cleaners, I was met with howls of derision from the Three Monkeys Brigade. Well what do you think now guys? Isn't there a tinge of gloating in his comments about the new owners tearing their hair out at the prospect of paying him a salary for the next four years?

And what about Duxbury? I kept telling you that the guy was an incompent oaf! Well for pity's sake, how did he offer Ashton that contract extension without putting in a clause releasing us from any obligations in the event of the injury recurring? The insurance company excluded the injury from the cover but it was beyond the wit and gumption of our legally trained CEO to insert a get out clause. What a complete and utter plonker!

So, we are paying Dyer and Ashton something close to £150k a week between them to not play for us! Duxbury was our legal advisor when we signed the injury prone Dyer and our CEO when he personally agreed that contract extension with Beano. What do you think of Scotty now guys? And what do you think of Beano whilst we are about it?

Bit Dissapointed with Beano to be honest thought he would have thought about taking an offer instead doing that!! He must have a good few quid in the bank already and punditry is calling him.
Just goes to show even nice footballers have a ruthless streak in them when it comes to money but Shaun Wright-Phillips get off scot free! As for Duxbury he only lives down the road from me in Chislehurst i might just go and knock on the muppets door and see if he really has a brain !

Why not get him in everyday to lick stamps and complete general admin duties.

I certainly wouldn't have him sitting at home and maybe even have him go through some fairly strenuous ankle therapy to try and rehabilitate, regardless of the outcome!

Why am I a nasty piece of work? The predictions are on here. Word search "Beano"!

And if it was so easy to predict, why did Duxbury give him that contract?

I agree it is not Ashton's fault he was offered that kind of money over such a long period. It was the fault of the idiotic management at that particular time. I have always thought solicitor's as being weird people living on a different planet to the rest of us and Duxbury was no exception. Ashton had bad luck with his ankle and good luck with the money, both were bad news for the supporters. He got sympathy from us for his injury and should keep his mouth shut about his dosh. £65,000 a week would last me comfortably for two years. If I was the D's I wouldn't be at all happy about buying into that kind of incompetence no sensible owner's would. H F has got it right laugh about it otherwise you will cry about the unbelievable "bogrotten way" West Ham was being run.
