Big Benni was unusually animated on the training pitch as the week progressed. On a few occasions, he was actually spotted breaking into a jog and there are rumours that on Thursday he actually worked up a sweat. Had Sullivan's harsh words about Benni's weight had the desired effect? Had he given up on eating cake on the advice of the Sulliedone, ignoring the general dispensation from Marie Antoinette?
Suddenly Benni was telling everybody he was looking forward to the weekend game. Turns out, McCarthy had been confused by the change in Villa management and his excitement was down to Avram talking about "MacDonald's new tactics on Saturday"!
