According to Doctor Evil, Carlton Goals should be targeting a place in England's squad for the European Championship. Oh yes? With Wellbeck and Sturridge finding their feet in the Prem, why would Fabio go back to Carlton, no matter what he achieves in the Championship?
Goals against the likes of Watford may be enough to secure you a place in Scotland's team, but things are not yet that desperate where England are concerned. True we have lost Rooney courtesy of his bookie busting red card in Montenegro, but can anybody see Capello reaching down to the bottom shelf to bring Cole back into the England fold? No chance.
There's nout wrong in Allardyce using a bit of kidology of course but Carlton isn't thick and will surely see through this. The FA might not be very impressed however. Suggesting that Cole might be good enough to lead our attack in a major Championships is not going to do any good to Sam's chances of landing the England job when Capello departs.

Cole should never have been selected for England, period. The fact that, as a poorly performing Championship striker, Sam's words have any credibility whatsoever just goes to further demonstrate just how utterly shite the national team is.
It comes on the back of the over reaction to twat Rooney's punishment which, let's face it, is only so extreme because the whole country fears that without him the England team would probably struggle in the Premiership, let alone internationals.
Cole or Allardyce for England - just about says it all.
I still maintain my theory that Sam only took this with the England post in mind. He thought he'd get promoted with West Ham and be in line for the role when Capello is finished.
I QUITE AGREE BUT WHO GIVE A DIME AS LONG AS WE GET BACK UP
