You Bloody Fool Zola!

So Zola has criticised the team for their first half performance; what a bloody nerve! He sent out the wrong team with the wrong tactics so how dare he criticise the players he exposed to potential humiliation? I've said everything I need to say about the tactics in my match report (see below) but I am furious that Zola is knocking the team rather than putting up his hands and admitting he got it wrong tactically - again!

I want to interview the guy and ask him how he expected us to cope with the threat of Petrov, Bellamy and Wright-Phillips down the flanks with no width in our midfield to offer cover for our full backs. And with De Jong and Barry shielding the centre backs, why were we trying to play through the middle of City's defence?

Don't blame the players, look in the mirror Zola. Who bought Kovac and sold Collins? Who failed to sign a specialist right back? Who has signed unproven Premiership players as supposed replacements for Bellamy? Oh sorry, that's Nani and Duxbury!

Green had a pop last week, Zola is having a go this week - the cracks and stress fractures are showing. And meanwhile Clarke is very quiet. No doubt he is thinking, what the f...?

2331, why is he angry with his players exactly? he should be angry with himself because he ballsed up. The players have every right to be angry with him too. He has no right to knock the players who, from what I saw, were doing their best to paper over the cracks of his inept tactics.

23.30 You may. Were you at the City game tonight? If so, you must have travelled home in a bleedin jet. So what's your point? Twat. Why not make some observations on the performance of the team and the tactics?

Ive got a mobile which allows me to read your pathetic rants! So... Tell us, how many games have you attended this season? Is it zero?

Hammersfan said...

Is that right? So let's have the benefit of your analysis. Amazing that you feel the need to log in to this pathetic site from your mobile! No friends to text?

So, your analysis of tonight's game? I'm on the edge of my seat waiting.

Twat? By being offencive you've already lost your argument! Maybe if you attended games you'd have a different perspective and appreciate what actually happens on the pitch. But as you dont, what is the point of your blog? Why dont you start talking about eastenders or some other crap you watch on tv?

How many games?

Hammersfan said...

Still awaiting your analysis. Point out where I am wrong. We coped well with Bellamy, Wright-Phillips and Petrov on the flanks did we? We were a threat down the flanks ourselves were we? Kovac played a blinder did he? Jimenez and Diamanti were a threat to the City defence were they? The tactics were spot on were they?

Hammersfan said...

Great analysis! Twat.

Why cant you answer a very simple question? Its not beyond you is it? HOW MANY WEST HAM GAMES HAVE YOU ATTENDED THIS SEASON?

Anonymous said...

I too am confused by the continual tactic of playing right footers on the left and vice a versa but seem to recall you claiming last season that the success we were having was all down to Clarke but now we've had a bad start this season it's all Zola's fault.
Make your mind up.
We were awful for most of the first half, midfield 3 sitting too deep allowing City's 2 to dominate, not getting anyone close enough to Cole when we did have the ball.
Disagree about Jimenez, he looks the one player who could open up defences if we play him in the right postion

Anonymous said...

Is the question a bit difficult for you? Do you need someone to help you with it? WHEN DID YOU LAST GO TO A WEST HAM GAME?

Anonymous said...

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Anonymous said...

Does 'mother' not allow you out the house anymore? Is that why you cant go to games? Hahahahahahahahahahahaha! If you ever go to a game, let us all know what you think. Until then................

Anonymous said...

But you only moderate comments that are offensive, dont you?

Anonymous said...

So do we pat them on the head for a sub par performance?
Do we criticise Zola's team selection considering the players he would want to play are injured?
Do we criticise the sael of Collins?
Of course we do but if Zola was asked Upson or Collins? Who do you think he'd let go?
Zola has admitted here he is also culpable so stop your latest witch hunt - I'm surprised you haven't descended to petty name calling yet.
Oh wait.

Personally I'm waiting to hear the answer to the question posed at 23.30...

kevin in manchester writes.. Obviously I live in Manchester. For the past 15 years I have lived within two miles of City , Maine Road and now City Of M/cr stadium. Neither have been a happy hunting ground. We were gutless in the 2-0loss in the near relegation season and even worse last year when we lost 3-0 , last night we were better than on either of those occasions .. we scored one from open play and should have had a second (disallowed) also from open play .. so that's an improvement. I agree with you hammersfan; I can't see the point of playing Kovac, Parker and Noble in the same team. Of the three I was most disappointed with Noble, at least Kovac's drive was the catalyst for our goal. Parker got better as the game went on. Hurry back Jack and valon, Please! For all the reports that City strolled past us, which they more or less did; I was sat with City fans and they were decidedly edgy in the first the minutes of the second half.. not many left til the bitter end- a sure sign that old habits die hard, at least in their imagination, there was a sliver of fear that we may pull a goal or two back. As to 4-3-3 I'm not convinced but I think a team that can capably play a number of formations is no bad thing and i don't expect everything to work from the get go .. it's probably worth trying out and working through in those games where the odds are overwhelmingly against you from the start. I don't think the problem was an abject west ham, although we were certainly no great shakes, rather it's the absurdity of a League that ovesees a situation where a team can afford to have £80 million on the bench. The expansion of the big 4 into the big 6 while superficially making the league more healthy -it means more teams are competing realistically for prizes- it is bad news for those teams who haven't been pimped to foreign squillionaires; there are now eight fixtures which are write offs, factor in Everton away which we always lose.. the importance of taking points off the rest is now greater than ever.. so losing to Wigan was not clever. I do think you should try and put your Duxbury obsession to bed it's making you miserable . if everything really is turning to shit behind the scenes then the last thing we need is full disclosure; it'll only accelerate the crisis. Pretending all is rosy gives us a chance to sort stuff out .. IE. to pimp us to a Foreign squillionaire!

I thought that we were outplayed and wished that I wasn't a smart arse when just one minute before their first goal was quoted as saying "what the hell do you call this formation"? " we're all over the place and will get slaughtered if we play with this shape". Reminded me of Middlesborough v West Ham in the Cup last season actually where Kovac was equally uninspiring. Would have loved to have seen a red card for Lescott and the goal allowed to see how things would have turned out in the second half.
How many games have you been to by the way?

What are you going on about whether Hammersfan goes to games or not! What the hell does it matter? His arguments are accurate and make sense. Isn't that enough for you. Quite frankly I don't blame anyone not going to watch West Ham if they continue to play like this.

The first thing that struck me as odd yesterday is how the hell can a teenager and a newcomer in the centre of the defence with "Flaubert" on the wing can hold off the speed of Petrov, SWP, Bellamy and Tevez. I don't know what options Zola had but he should have known we stood no chance with this layout.

Well done Hammersfan. Keep up the good work and your objective analysis.

I would value your opinion if you actually attended the games. i have a season ticket and have also attended various away games this season so i personally find it insulted for some MUG to set up a blog which insults my team at every given chance.

you are supposed to support your football team hence the term 'supporter', and you neither support west ham in or out of the stadium therefore i truly believe that you should FUCK OFF!

Fanno, don't listen to what they have to say. Keep writing. You make different, but valid points.

Yes, I have to say you are quite pessimistic, but it's okay. I agree with you on alot of the points.

Keep writing.

Oh dear wee man, starting to lose the plot a bit? Feel like a bit of a 'twat' up there on the moral high ground? Abusing the people who care enough to have a debate with you only goes to show that you should not be writing about a subject you know little about, a team you find it hard to tolerate and fans you seem to detest.

Anon don't just ask about this season but how many did he go to last season and the season before that? He is up his own arse and is a total loser.

why won't you tell us how many hammers games you have been to?

Hammersfan said...

Some interesting replies from some, mixed in with the usual garbage from the few. How many games have I been to this season? Well, as a non season ticket holder with work and family commitments, the only one I could have got to was the Millwall game and I knew what was coming there! So what? I have watched every minute of our Premiership season so far and the Sky money ios worth more to West Ham than the cost of a season ticket. Were Duxbury and Nani at the game last night? The cameras did not spot them if they were. This isn't a "who supports West Ham the most competition" it is about the team, the selection of the team and the running of the club. I have been attending Upton Park since 1969. I have not lived in East London since 1964. I get to the games I can. Those I can't get to, I watch on Sky or or the net. So what? What amazes me is that certain people claim to hate this site but keep returning. Why?

Kareem, good to see you looking in mate. You should know me better than to think I can be put off by the witless! Are you in the States yet?

total armchair supporter. when you start going to games then you can criticise. supporter??? nah! just a gob with a computer
