Collison, Ilunga, Diamanti and Franco

Here we go again. According to one report,

"Jack Collison, Herita Ilunga and Guillermo Franco face late tests while Scott Parker is suspended versus Sunderland".

This report also claims that Behrami and Dyer are definitely out. How many "late tests" have Collison and Ilunga failed this season? It feels to me that they have spent most of the season "nearly available to play". How we could use both against Sunderland! Franco, on the other hand, would be less enthusiastically welcomed back. Sure he was superb when he came on against Wolves but he had looked distinctly slow and ordinary in the home game against Bolton. I would rather we start with Ilan personally.

Interestingly, there appear to be no fitness question marks over Diamanti which adds weight to the rumour that he was simply dropped last week. Or maybe, as the "new Di Canio", he looked at a map and thought, "Liverpool? Long way North, don't fancy that!"

My team, if all four are available would read:

Green: Faubert, Da Costa, Upson, Ilunga: Stanislas (on the right!) Kovac, Noble, Collison: Ilan, Cole.

Reading around, it seems we are more likely to see Diamanti and Behrami back than Ilunga and Collison. But this injury crisis has kind of popped out of nowhere. Just what we needed. Hope it isn't as bad as it seems or we may hand Sunderland their first away win since the opening day. We're good at things like that.

Go on, cheer me up! Keep those negative thoughts to yourself Stani please. Sunderland have their problems too. No defence! Just like when Man Utd came to Upton Park!

I would put Spector at RB so Faubert could run at their LB (Anton?)and have Kovac bullying Bent. With no left footed midfielders Stanislas would have to go left wing and Deprela LB.

Green
Spector DaCosta Upson Deprela
Kovac
Faubert Noble Stanislas
Ilan Cole

The Sunderland player who worries me the most is Malbranque who always seems to do well against us.

The OS's latest article "Nothing comes from nothing" (brilliant, Zola...) says that we're boosted by the fitness returns of Behrami, Franco, and Diamanti..I really think it'd be cool to toss in a player from the youth ranks or the reserves...Anthony Edgar maybe? COYI

Don't think that would be a good idea in a must win game mate.

That is true...I guess that was something we could have done in a past game. I guess if Behrami, Diamanti and Franco are all back...I'd play this formation ... 4-4-1-1 ...Green, Faubert, Da Costa, Spector/Daprela, Diamanti on the left, Kovac and Noble in the center, Stanislas on the rihgt, Illan and Cole up front..with Behrami, Franco, McCarthy, Mido all on the bench..-sigh- come on you irons
