For God Sake Zola, GO!!!!!!
We can't take much more of this. The guy is utterly clueless. His failure to motivate the players is there for everybody to see. Against Bolton we didn't wake up for the first 15 minutes, against Chelsea he admitted that we folded after they scored their second goal and against the 10 men of Arsenal, we treated the ball as if it was a Talaban explosive device.
The guy's tactics are absurd. Mido and Franco paired against Arsenal? Wenger was a little late coming down the tunnel for the start of the game, probably because he had side stitch from laughing after seeing our team sheet! Stanislas on the left and Diamanti on the right? We managed one good cross in 90 minutes of football and, surprise, surprise, it was a Stanislas cross FROM THE RIGHT. Did Zola see this and change things at half time? Of course not!
Where was the fight after half time? Where was the passion? Where was the urgency? Where was the extra man for pity's sake? Why wasn't Stanislas moved to the right, Kovac withdrawn, Behrami even switched to right back because he offers NOTHING going forward! Why did Mido and Franco stay on? Why wasn't Daprela encouraged to get forward and knock in crosses given Staislas kept coming inside every time - as he ALWAYS does when playing on the wrong flank?
But Zola did nothing. It was as if he missed the fact that Arsenal were down to 10 men. What did he say at half time? "We are playing well. Keep playing as we are and it will come good." I bet that was the long and the short of it!
He has to go. If he is the honourable man he suggests he is, he will walk. If he isn't, Sullivan and Gold should bring in somebody over him. I expect to have Curbishley in our dressing room on Tuesday. I don't want him there, but I think that's what will happen. Mind you, even Curbishley has to be better than Zola, at least we will lump the ball forward and chase it, instead of passing it sideways and backwards until we lose possession. At least a left footer will play on the left and a right footer on the right. At least we will get the ball into the opposition box!
Go Zola, GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm glad your irritated. You deserve it.
For God's sake hammersfan GO!!!!!
As an arsenal fan I disagree with you.... Not because we won today, but because I believe he can make west ham better. He has the right philosophy for playing the game.... Ok the results haven't gone your way, but he will have you playing good football and winning (eventually). Give the guy a chance....
Simply not going to happen HF.
We were never going to get anything out of the game today, Zola had written both Chelsea and Arsenal off.
I am beginning to see the rationale in keep our powder dry for the next two battles. Desperate times require desperate measures.
This time next week, if we don't have six extra points, then Zola may walk, but even then I doubt it.
I tell you this, you're going
to get your mini season ticket's worth!
JC
So you're (spelt correctly) glad we lost then? Some Hammer!
bleh I dont even want to put the effort in anymore. Fact is Hull gave em more of a game last week. I guess thats where we stand.
Two wanker sides.the woolish down to 10 men and a pen vs the wost keeper in the lg.every gunners a runner and you pikie drit are balless.we are going to the c/l. u lot are hitting the fizzy pop:-)
I don't need to justify my allegiance to you HF, ahem, somebody who is themselves rather laughably accused of being a closet Spurs fan.
And anyway, brushing shoulders with you in the Boleyn two weeks ago should be proof enough.
I am not happy we lost, I just look at the bigger picture.
We have to win the Home games to stay up. Frankly I would not mind if we 'threw' the away day games, as long as we stay up.
What Zola has (or has not) done up to this point in the season has clearly not worked and has left us in a disasterous position. Whether he has lost the dressing room a la Pardew remains to be seen.
All Zola has left now to save us, is the belief that we can win four more home games.
In Zola we trust? No thanks, but what is the actual alternative that offers a better chance of us avoiding the drop?
Keeping Zola until the end of the season is our best hope.
What does Stani have to say on the matter?
JC
JC, I can't see us winning our home games. We are utterly clueless going forward.
Yes I agree that actually winning the home games is going to be a massive problem.
It's simple really, if we get the team that beat Brum next week against Wolves and Stoke, then we'll get six points.
If we play like Bolton, then we're fucked.

I used to think that Zola didn't have a clue tactically but I think today we could have won the game, who knows what would have happened at 1-1? We didn't get stuffed and I agree with the Arsenal fans comments, you can't change the manager every year and expect to get anywhere, look at Alex Ferguson, 1 game away from the sack..........Give Zola at least another two years with a stable ownership team behind him. COYI!
Hello! Arsenal had 10 men throughout the second half and still scored one goal to our nil.
Well said 2237
Never before have been compelled to vent my frustrations on any kind of web page. I have my own opinions of the Mighty (lol) Hammers but generally keep them to myself. But today i am pissed.
Having been a season ticket holder for 20 years before moving down under (and thanks to the awesome foxtel coverage down here i still never miss a game) I have seen some piss poor hammers teams in the past but this lot are something else!!
Never before have i seeen a west ham side content to lose games such has the attitude been for the last two outings. There was not a single positive to come out of this game. Except perhaps at least Parker didn't get booked.
Everybody knows that Cole is a confidence player and after a lengthy lay off he needs games. Leaving him out of the last two has been farcical. With those games under his belt he may have been firing on all cylinders by the time we have Wolves on Tuesday but now i doubt he will have much of an impact.
Mido??? WTF!! Boro' don't want him in the Championship. Lay of the kebabs mate!!
As for Franco you can't deny that maybe once upon a time he had some class but that is ancient history. General Franco my arse, more like Colonel f**king Saunders.
I am starting to understand the comparisons between Diamanti and DiCanio mind you. Neither of them f**king turn up away from home!! (Sorry Paulo, Luv ya but its true)
Behrami talks a good game but he can't pass for shit. We have all been in jobs where from time to time we have been required to "look busy" but fuck me this guy is turning it into a career , Kovac is more concerned with his hairdo and seems unable to pass in any direction other than backwards, and what happened to Noble? wasn't he a bit of star once. The young guy Daprela has done reasonably well in last two games under difficult circumstances so I will lay of him. For now.
Jonathan Spector? Anyone remember Tim Breacker?
Upson is already considering his next career move and good riddance for all i care. How this guy can be considered a cert for South Africa is beyond me. We must really be shithouse at the back if thats whats required. Can't wait to see his reception when he gets back after another stupid penalty against ten men in the quarter finals. Tomkins is improving but a long way from where he needs to be and the same can be said of Stanislas. He has the pace but not the penetration, and its all well good going past players but if the rest of your team can't be f**ked to get in the box then whats the point?
I am afraid to say that I have been sitting quietly with fingers crossed, hoping that Zola can get it right. He is a top bloke but it's about time people realised that nice guys don't win footbal matches. It does sadden me to say but he has to go. After todays efforts he seems totally unable to motivate the players and has the tactical nouse of a fish. It's all well and good wanting to play pretty football but a manager needs to realise when his players do not have the ability to so. It's a similar problem that Hoddle (spit) had at Tottscum (spit again). It's no good expecting players to be able to do things that you can (or could) do if they are not good enough to do it. No matter how f**king nice about it you are.
This team has nowhere near the ability that the last team we had that were relegated and although there are worse teams in the league some will be able to drag themselves out of it on work rate alone. Can we say the same? I don't think so.
I hate the culture in todays game of sacking managers as soon as things start to go a bit pear shaped but i am afraid that harsh decisions need to be made, and after todays washout I would not be suprised if we are looking for a new man by next wekkend regardless of Tuesdays result against Wolves. My only worry is that player power may influence the boards decision as they all clearly love Zola regardless of his ineptitude. I undersand the reasoning in our current position to focus on what are possibly more winable games but to not even try and take advantage of opportunites that are presented to you is unforgivable. Arsenal could have gone down to 8 today and still been good for a point, such was the enthusiasm and desire in our performance. The responsibility sits firmly on the shoulders of the manager and he is just not cutting it in any way.
I am afraid it needs to be said by someone so here it is
ZOLA OUT!!
P.S Love the web site. Don't always agree with you but its entertaing none the less. Keep it up.
Dyer M.I.A again, bloody typical. If anyone is interesting which is doubtful as we are all so fed up with him, he has sore muscle's ....WTF!! Hey HF I really dont know why you bother cause every west ham fan seems to always want to give Zola the benefit of the doubt. Personally I'm fed up it myself and believe Zola would have been stuffed 4 nil if they had 11 men. 2.5m a year for that prat Zola, bloody disgrace. The good news is I felt okay after this defeat, why? because we are shit. Wolves WILL beat us..I said it first!
I'm saying it second!
Give the guy a chance last season wasn't too bad - and what about clarke - do you believe that zola wouldn't be a better manager with better players?
and once again hf..... trash talk!
2035 very funny mate!
Yeah that was hilarious wasn't it? He should be on Have I Got News For You!
Malone, good to hear your opinions, share them more often!
Is it just me or for a second game in a row is it impossible to rate Daprelas performance. It wasn't bad, it wasn't good, it wasn't...anything. Kind've the same for Behrami, Noble and Tomkins. Need more from these guys, they need to get fingers out and start shining. Zola will need leave upton Park alive if we do not beat Wolves.
I think Daprela did ok but there was no attempt to get him beyond the half way line. That must have been on instruction from the manager.
Zola has this fantastic idea in his head about how we should play the game but keeps forgetting we don't have the money or players to carry his ideas through.
Zola has got to go he is the worst manager in our history. I dont really like curbishley but considering those icelandics have fucked off i see no reason why he cant come back. Our squad aint doing us any favours either i mean spector, franco and mido, fair play to franco he was the only one trying against wolves. Diamanti is brilliant but he is so predictale always cutting in the middle. I dont care if we play good football if we get 3 points ill sleep with a smile on my face but at the end of the day im never going to forgive zola for letting chelsea beat us and losing 3-1 to the one of the shittest teams in the league so when zola go's ill start paying to see a match.
