Another in the little series illustrating that I may have something valid to say after all. This was my response to the news back in August that O'Neill wanted Collins and not Upson.
Anybody else been unsettled by the decision of Villa to bid for Collins rather than Upson? It is one thing for Stoke City to fancy Collins, quite another for Martin O'Neill to want him. When it was Stoke, there was a feeling that Upson was beyond their means so Collins was a next best choice. Villa, however, are not financially strapped and were rumoured to be after Upson. It would appear from the latest rumours, however, that O'Neill has weighed up the options and prefers the younger Collins at a lower price to the older Upson at a higher figure. And O'Neill is no mug as a rule.
Either way, Clarke is going to lose a key figure in his back four. Whether or not Collins is the first choice partner for Upson is a matter of some debate - Tomkins may be the main man - but he was a key figure in the Great Escape and has acquitted himself well since returning to the team. The most depressing thing about all this is that we have to sell to be able to bid £7m for a striker that we so desperately need.

That should be your motto HF. Look how many articles that you have published since August - it would be very difficult, even for you, not to get some right.
LOL Not all those posts are predictions! The big ones that stand out that I got right were:
1) We would face a season of struggle. Right. (July)
2) Liverpool would not finish in the top 4. Right. (August)
3) Tottenham and Man City would compete for the 4th place in Prem. (August) Right.
4) Ashton would not play for West Ham again (April onwards)
5) Selling Collins would prove costly. (August on) Right.
6) Unless Chelsea got it together, the race for the title would be tight. I said no team was outstanding and made Chelsea favourites to win the title. (August) Right.
7) I said when Wigan played Burnley that we needed Wigan to win as Burnley were the more likely to drop; others disagreed. I was right.
8) I said at the end of March that 35 points would be enough to stay up. Right.
9) From October I was identifying Zola as a problem. Right.

West Ham having a tough season! mental.
Nobody else could have seen Liverpool finding it hard to get the fourth spot under that exceptional premier league manager Rafa Benitez and Man city a team that has invested more money in their team than any other competing for that spot!!!.. totally out of the blue.
Injury prone Ashton not playing again due to injury was a stroke of pure genius.
Selling a first team player to another team proving a detrement to our squad!! unheard of.

Burnley, a team promoted through the championship playoffs more likely to go down than Wigan, an established prem team.. where do you get these pearls of wisdom from?
And an ex player manager with very little experience not proving to be the best in the league, i believe we have found a modern day nostradamus..
I agree with everything you say 1506, although you missed out that I predicted Tottenham to compete with Man City for the fourth spot. The thing is, so many disagreed with me. Benitez himself was guaranteeing 4th spot 5 months after my prediction. Is he going to reimburse all the Liverpool fans who bought match tickets after issuing that "guarantee"? If it was obvious that the sale of Collins would cause problems, why did Duxbury and Zola agree to sell him. If it was obvious Ashton would never play again, why did Zola leave it so late to press for the Board to sign another striker? Indeed, why did Duxbury and Zola repeatedly talk about Ashton leading our attack this season? The received "wisdom" at the time of the Burnley v Wigan game was that Wigan would go down rather than Hull. I disagreed. If we were always going to struggle due to Zola's inexperience, why appoint him and retain him as a manager? I didn't know we were a training school for managers as well as the Academy of Football! Yeah, the Chelsea prediction was easy!
