Cole Rejects Stoke Again!

Once again, we see how stupidly our cub has been run. Offered the chance of Premiership football and the opportunity to press his England claims, Carlton has said bugger off because it would involve a drop in his wages. Let's just repeat that. West Ham are in a mountain of debt and languishing in the N Power whilst Stoke are resident in the Prem, looking forward to a season in Europe and in rude financial health, but Carlton will be earning more if he stays at Upton Park than if he joins the Pulis revolution in the Piss Potteries.

It's absolutely bloody crazy. And because of this mismanagement - which also sees us considering a loan deal for Parker because not even Chelsea want to take on his absurd wages for the next four years - we cannot reshape the team to Doctor Evil's liking.

Of course there were two other stumbling blocks. Why would anybody in his right mind move from London to Stoke? Unless, of course, he was doing a runner from his bookies! Stoke is a shit hole.

And then there was Stoke's insistence that Cole's bonus be based on goals scored. "Goals?" Carlton asked, "What are those?"

Oh come the f#ck on, why the f#ck do you call yourself a fan, we know that over the years we have handed out ridiculous contract to many a player, but you just constantly state the bleeding frickin' obvious, maybe Cole is showing loyalty to a club that over the years he has grown to love, lets be honest, and no offence is meant to the fans of Stoke, but we are a far bigger club than them, so maybe Cole can actually see that we, despite relegation, are in line for a potentially good, and enjoyable season. Personally, I can't stand the guy and would like to see him move on, but maybe for once its not all the clubs fault, remember, Cole was/is on the verge of the England squad, a Squad that is(somehow) rank 4th in the world, hence why a player like him can command a substantial wage. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, you are writing absolute drivel. If you like I'll send you my email address so you can send me your blogs before you post them, I'll read them over and advise, save you making a continued t!t of yourself.

But you keep returning Geoff. And the hit count is closing in on 1,100,000 so it seems this drivel has a certain appeal doesn't it?

Geoff said...

So the reason you write these blogs is to gain some kind of notoriety? Rather than actually compile a substantiated and factual view of the way that the club is run you are just writing in order to gain kudos in respect of how many hits you have rather than actually having a valid point in your posts? Great well done ....... a troll with a blog, marvellous.

makes you wonder why anyone would support West Ham - perhaps you could explain it to me? why do you support West Ham?

NOTW had a certain appeal and look where that's got them. Hardly a sensible argument now is it?

HF, this is really a non story to some degree. If he went, fine. We get some dough. If he stays, I think he will score 20+ goals in N-Land.

And as you said, why on earth would he choose Pulis and Stoke? THAT alone would make me question the guys sanity.

0058, what a very, very, very strange question. The very fact that you ask it suggests that you do not support West Ham for the right reason.I was born within a 15 minute walk of the stadium. Had West Ham been a non league team I would have supported them. My father supported West Ham, all my cousins support West Ham. My brother supports West Ham. My son supports West Ham. My daughter's boyfriend now supports West Ham. Her ex boyfriend from Canada now supports West Ham. My wife hates West Ham because she is jealous!

0058, I have not hacked Milly Dowler's phone and, unlike TNOTW, I am not dependent on advertising revenue to exist - so your attempted "point" fails miserably.

LOL Very good Deane.

I disagree Dave, I think this is a HUGE story. Up until now, S&G have been able to claim that they have had no choice about players leaving, in fact Gold told us a month back that he wanted to retain our best players but had to accept that our England players would want to leave for the sake of their careers.

Well it seems that Carlton doesn't want to leave but has been under some pressure to go. Why? Because they are hell bent on reducing the salaries at the club. And I bet there is another problem looming. I would have money on the fact that Nolan is guaranteed to be the highest wage earner on the books next season. That would mean that if Parker stays, they have to pay Nolan an extra £33,000 a week!

The truth's a bitch isn't it? So much for your Cole injury article and the morons that were questioning him.

Well done Carlton!

If I was Carlton Cole I would not leave West Ham for Stoke City and especially if it meant less pay.Could well be that big Sam gets the best out of him. Certainly he will not enjoy the easy life he had last season. The main concern though is the mysterious ongoing injury that is if it really exists.

Hmm not good news at all. Are G&S responsible for his wages?Or was it Curbs+Eggy? I don't know.

He doesn't want to go to Stoke because he doesn't want to leave London - bless - yes, Stoke is a bit of a pit but Alderly Edge is no more than 30 minutes drive away and that's footballer central.

Mind you geography is not his strong point judging by his failure to locate that most familiar landmark on a football pitch- the goal!

You kind have this vague hope that he'll click and use all his obvious physical attributes and bag a hatfull but really in my heart of hearts, even in the championship, I don't think it will happen- maybe QPR or Fulham will come to the rescue.

He's one of those players who shows flashes but never the whole of the moon-

I keep thinking well maybe this season he'll click but I suppose Chelsea got rid of him for a reason

yes but cole is only one 30k a week where he was given a 4 year deal b y scott duxbury and pardew only had him on 15k a week. I agree that he could score plenty of goals in the championship as he proved in cup matches last year. He is also a confidence player so grant dropping him after he scored a gosl every game is not a very good confidence booster. allardyce will hopefully change this

But HF, there was a story early on that among all of our key players Cole was the only one with a relegation clause regarding wages. A 50% cut. Now we dont know if that is true or not. And Id venture that if we stayed up they still would have accepted the bid.

We can only guess at anybodys motivations here until they explicitly state them. And my point was that because it was Cole it was less of a story. If Parker had refused a move, or Green, my eyebrows would have gone up. But becaue there have been so many quotes attributed to people who claim to be in the know that Cole didnt want to leave London, and the possible wage cut in his contract, I say yawn to this.

07:08 NOTW's drivel had popular appeal - not unlike this site but at the end of the day it was still drivel.

"West Ham United would like to clear up media speculation regarding Carlton Cole's offer to join Stoke City.

Carlton has not asked for a transfer and has remained committed to the club at all times. In being given permission to talk to Stoke, the negotiations did not break down as a result of him asking for too much money. He was discussing wage parity with other key players and was well within his right to do so.

Further, there is no issue in terms of his reported "injury problems". An England striker, he played 43 games last season. In fact he has averaged 36 matches a year in the last four campaigns at West Ham United.

Carlton remains part of the West Ham United first-team squad under Sam Allardyce."

Well if you look back over the history of the NOTW you will find that it was a fantastic campaigning paper and if you know the Eastend, you will know it was the paper of choice on a Sunday in West Ham heartland. You sound like a pompous prig to me sir and the question is, why do you keep coming back if this site only serves up drivel?

campaigners?!!?! - they're great they made every parent in the country scared to let their kids out because of the peado's, of which I might add there are no more today than there were 40 years ago.........

Hammersfan said...

You have a short memory and no sense of history. The paper was launched in 1843 and supported the Chartists and Anti Corn Law League.
