Let's Hope Birmingham Choke On The Toffee!

Another day, another big game in our relegation struggle - even though our players are in Portugal. Birmingham travel to Goodison Park and a point for our League Cup conquerors would see us sink back down into the bottom three. Victory for Everton would mean, however, that Birmingham start to sweat. They would then have only one game in hand and would remain a point behind us.

You never know which Everton team will turn up of course. Some weeks they look as if they are back to their best; the next they look bloody hopeless. Hopefully Arteta will show the same form as he displayed against Newcastle and Saha will have his shooting boots on. A two goal defeat for Birmingham would do us very nicely as we would then have a superior goal difference too.

I warned that they might pay a high price for their League Cup victory. Here's hoping!

We would have paid a high price too HF, yet you was well up for the cup! Glad you've finally come around.

They will probably win tonight thanks to that comment! When will West Ham fans learn not to get cocky?

Okay, so tonight we're all Everton supporters. I'll wave the blue flag I used on Monday to cheer on my beloved Chelski. Still, I can just about live with that. What worries me is that I think we need to get behind the Spuds too, because we've probably got more chance of turning them over on Saturday week if they're still in the Champions League. Can't we just have a couple of seasons in mid-table, then we can all get back to hating these bastards like Chelsea, Everton and Tottenham in the way the great god of football intended?

Now don't start that bloody nonsense again HF!!

Explain to me how appliance wires get tangled Marty. You plug them in, you don't move them, and they curl up and twist around each other. How? Tell me! How?

Stani Army said...

You do move them HF. See the same way you didn't want to look at our rivals fixtures, you didn't want to look at the appliance wires. Then, one day you did and they were all tangled up. You thought you hadn't touched them but you were all that along, just not looking at them.

Shshsh Marty. You do realise we can drive him mad using his superstitions?

You've got children haven't you HF? That my friend is the explanation for most of the things that confuse us adults!

Stani, I too would have paid a high price. In an age before you were even a twinkle in your parent's eyes, the cup was more important than the league. The league was bread and butter, but a trip to Wembley was a feast, a cornucopia of the best things in life! I have been lucky enough to have experienced 3 FA cup wins, a cup winners cup win and a few glorious failures. i wouldn't trade those in for a slightly higher average league position for all the superstitions in HF's kit bag!

Hammersfan said...

Nope, neither of those explanations work. You'll have to come up with something better than that!

Slightly higher meaning the difference between survival in the Prem and relegation?

Stop disseminating HF, you're of my generation and know exactly what I mean. As for the explanations; it's your's that don't work. Why do think the cables get tangled? I suppose it's the bloody tooth fairy is it?

Hammersfan said...

Genuine question mate, would you take Cup win and relegation over surviving and no Cup win?

As for the cables, what's the bloody tooth fairy got to do with it? My laptop cable had wrapped itself in and out of itself fifteen million times when I came to unplug it today! How? Tell me, how?

Hammersfan said...

Would you believe it? Arteta withdrawn injured after just 9 minutes. 1-1 at half time! We are back in the bottom 3 as things stand!

el martillo said...

Yes. I'm not afraid of relegation, it's fun sometimes to be at the top of the league and I will support West Ham whichever league we find ourselves in.

As regards your lap top cable. Anything to do with your computer is likely to be so confused it's hardly surprising if it disappears up it's own USB connection!

Hammersfan said...

LOL But I'm still awaiting a logical explanation. You must have noticed the same thing. How do you explain it logically?

Stani Army said...

Marty, I don't think I ever was a twinkle in my parents' eye...more like a thorn in the backside.

HF, if you pointed a camera at your wire and filmed it the whole day, then game back and watched it, you would see exactly how the wires became tangled.

Hammersfan said...

Good idea!

Stani Army said...

Oh God. Now he's gonna tell us that it did not tangle just because it knew we were watching it when in actual fact he subconsciously avoided moving it throughout the day i.e was susceptible to his own suggestion.

You know suggestibility HF...that freaky sh*t Derren Brown does.
