Parker Efficiently Anonymous!

What a brilliantly anonymous performance from Scotty. He wasn't booked, he didn't create a goal, he didn't have a shot, he didn't give away a free kick in a dangerous area, he didn't make a goal saving last ditch tackle. In fact, if you weren't watching out for him, you could be forgiven for not even realising he was playing!

And that is not a criticism, that is exactly as Doctor Capello demanded. It was fascinating to watch Parker. The centre circle and ten yards behind it were his. When he had the ball, nine times out of ten he passed it sideways over  a distance of five yards - rarely did he break that rule either by offering forward momentum or by covering more territory. Keep it simple. Keep it simple. You could hear Capello's words in his head every time he touched the ball.

And on the rare occasions he found himself in advance of the centre circle, his first thought was to retreat as soon as he had released the ball. Time and again he gave and dropped. He knew others were in the team to hurt the opposition, he was in the side to screen, to protect, to stop Wales ever threatening the English defence.

And for 45 minutes Wales didn't even manage a shot on goal, never mind force a save from Hart. Did they manage a shot all game? To be honest, it was so drab in the second half that apart from watching Parker, I drifted off!

I do hope Parker plays in exactly the same way against Man Utd next week! How refreshing would it be if we won and Parker had a quiet game? Parker as the anchor, as opposed to the canon, is the key to our survival!

So who is better HF, Barry or Parker? And what was Stani saying before the world cup? :)

It was bloody Wales! How would Parker cope against Germany? How ordinary were we after the 16th minute? Get a grip man!

U wouldnt know the key to survival if it was lodged in your arse. Scotty has never been and will never be the problem, without him we would be relegated already, that has been the key to our survival so far, a fact that almost every football authority has commented on. With no quality around him for most of the season how u can make inane comments about a now claret and blue legend, and the way plays is beyond me.

U r quite possibly the thickest, football ignorant twat i have ever had the mis-fortune to read. Pure drivel from a nob!

Parker will be shortlisted for Premier Lg Player of The year and has a real chance of winning it in a side that has been largely poor, shows again what u know. C***!!!!!

Why thank you Fred.

Barry or Parker HF? Come on now, answer the question.

Why are the bar steward terrestrial channels not showing highlights?

That's because he was used specifically as a holding player. It was a different system and he's effective in both. Do you not know anything about football?

Not nice when players are injured but it looks as though Doyle's out for the rest of the season. Boost for us. Here's hoping Parker doesn't pull up against Ghana

1917 and 1842, did you read the article and the one that preceeds it? I am in no way critical of Parker in either, but I am critical of how he has been used. Our performances have improved immesuarably of late BECAUSE Parker can play the anchor role for West Ham now Hitz is in the side. Parker is much better in the anchor role than he is in the midfield general role is all I am saying.

Stani, on that showing Parker. But it was Wales and the game was a stroll in the park for England. The worry was how ineffective we looked going forward in the second half.

A tangent here.

Ba scored a late winner for Senegal over Cameroon.

I wouldn't be surprised if Capello makes a lot of changes against Ghana.

Not so long ago he was being criticised along with the rest of the midfielder's for not scoring goals. You can't have it both ways HF

HF I'm starting to think you're on a bit of a losing streak - in last couple of weeks you seem to have pretty much alienated everyone.

You have a rather curious personality trait whereby it seems you need to be hated by all.

Where you not cuddled as a child?

Some people seem to be reading this as criticism. It isn't! Read what I've written!

1243, are you still being cuddled as an adult? Does mummy still give you bitty? Grow up eh? Some of us can differ with each other without hate being involved!

I must say HF, I sometimes wonder why you bother with the bullshit some people write on here, especially critical about you personally.

I often fight with my father-in-law about the merits of football v rugby. He often uses the dimwitted, lazy retardation of fans as his key differential and on this showing, I fear he is right, alas.

Everyone - I don't give a rat's arse if you criticise me or not for this post - it has nothing to do with the thread topic - but I would just like to point out that it is possible to have constructive debate without entering into slagging matches and personal attacks. HF is entirely justified in asking the question of us and merits properly considered responses.

Unlike some of the pathetic attempts I've read on here. Get a grip, wise up and stop acting like gutter-trash. Unless that's what you are, in which case my only question is this: by what miracle do you even know how to switch on a computer, let alone post a lame blog response?

hahahaha wow 12:43 looks like you hit a nerve there. HF was obviously deprived of love as a nipper..... explains everything.

Hammersfan said...

LOL Dan. They will be convinced that I've written your comment of course. But cheers mate.

"gutter-trash" oh dear Dan you don't appear to know what side of the Atlantic you live on, no wonder your father-in-law finds you dimwitted.

Don't worry HF - we can see through this one - it's not you. "Rat's arses, retardation, get a grip, wise up, gutter-trash and bullshit" obviously written by one of our soccer following American cousins.
