Oh dear God spare us! Now I defended the selection of Davies for England but even I am not going to get excited about the idea of him joining West Ham. He is 34 FFS and isn't good enough to hold down a place at Bolton!
And whilst Davies is good at some things - bullying opponents, throwing his weight around, coming deep, leading the line, collecting yellow cards - one thing he is sure as hell shit at is taking chances.
We have enough goal shy strikers as it is! With Piquionne, Cole and Carew already on the books, why would Allardyce want another lump who can't hit a barn door from three yards out?
Hang on, the answer is in that word lump!

Maybe if he was playing regularly for Bolton they wouldnt be where they are. I'll have him on a short term contract thank you very much.
short term - if the wage demands are reasonable, why not?
Bolton weren't too bad in the last couple of seasons and Davies played a big role in that circumstance.
Sure, with 34 he passed his peak but that doesn't mean he can't score goals in the fizzy pop.
His goals per games ratio is worse than Cole's!
He always seems to find the back of the net whenever he played against us!
Up against untried sensations like Rhodes and Sharp, I'd take Davies on loan till the summer and then review.
But I'm sure he'd score more than Piquionne or Carew. I mean, he is clearly no long term solution just a nice addition but if we should fail in bringing in a striker I'd rather have him for the rest of the remaining season than no additional striker.
19:19 ratios, statistics and page counters - what is it with you?
He's not the answer to our goal scoring problems, but would still make for decent short term cover for Cole. And he's got a far better attitude than Carew or Piq, so why not?
klasnic is out of contract his year,
creative forward quick feet can score but would link the play better than our present midfield,we need flare to make something happen around the penalty box.
davies no
klasnic yes please
