West Ham's New Ilan - We are 100% Underwhelmed!

Ze Eduardo - Genoa CFC v Bologna FC - Serie A
Oh dear God. After all the talk, after all the rumours of £5m bids, we end up with a no mark journeyman who has toured the world in his caravan, desperate for a club to let him settle. The guy has obviously read about Dale Farm and heard that West Ham are the nearest club able to pay more than a grand a week in benefits.

To date Ze Eduardo has had FIFTEEN clubs. That's right, FIFTEEN! And he's been shown the door by all of them!

Sullivan and Gold are taking the piss here. And so is Allardyce.Since 2009 the bloke has netted a grand total of 14 goals - so one less than the number of clubs he has played for since 2004 then!

How much are we paying him? Probably a Mido - a grand a week. But even that threatens to be money down the pan. We saw how crap Mido was. We were duped briefly by Ilan. What hope is there of this outcast setting the Boleyn alight?

His record so far this season? Four appearances and no goals! Brilliant, just brilliant! Meanwhile Southampton are buying Sharp!

And to think I've been taking the piss out of QPR!

Ilan would own this league wish he didnt let him go

Big Sam, Gold & Sullivan - you want a good striker with amazing potential - I can get you one who costs no money - cos you already own him, Rob Hall. Simples.

It doesn't sound good. I have a bad feeling the Davids are making a similar mistake as they did last year in January by not sacking Avram Grant. They are being pennywise and poundfoolish again.

We well positioned 19 games before the finish line. All we need to make sure we are back in the Premiership is a few good signings. And what do the owners do? Make a lot of noise all month and then count their pennies and buy from the bargain basement on very the last day! I hope history does not repeat itself.

I will be very happy if he is half as good as Ilan by the way...

Ilan wasn't that bad - he saved our ass with the goal against Everton and Wigan. As back in 2010 our main problem is the midfield. No width, no decent crosses, no goals. In my books Baldock is a really decent player who will score plenty of goals if he gets the support of the wingers and a second striker (Cole or Hall).
As long as Taylor stays fit I don't worry too much about our team. Sadly he has been injured pretty often so far.

A little bit of worry especially as the YouTube promo runs out of goals halfway through and we are reduced to some passes and near misses! Mind you most of the clubs were in the early part of his career and his goals have come in the latter stages. Fingers crossed.

Anony-mouse says,

As you don't get to many games, and don't seem to have much of a grasp of the game you can be forgiven for not understanding that actually Ilan did all right for us, and his goals were criticial to us staying up that year.

What I find harder to take is your unrelenting miserableness about West Ham. When was the last time they made you happy? If the answer is, as I suspect that they never make you happy anymore then accept then it may be time for you to move on from your broken relationship with the club.

Like any relationship coming to an end you seem bitter, miserable, never satisfied and only able to see the bad in everything relating to West Ham. She can get by without you. There's loads of us who love her. Move on HF- make the break- maybe you can be happy elsewhere- not at QPR though by the looks of what they are saying about you on your other post.

I understand fully what Ilan gave to us. I witnessed him close up and personal and didn't see anything special at all. It is true he scored 4 goals but he only completed 90 minutes once. Look at his career after he left us!

Anony-mouse says,

I don't care what he did once he left us. Whilst with us he scored vital goals at Everton and against Sunderland and Wigan, No one's claiming he was Pele but his goals helped keep us up.

I see you didn't respond to the rest of my post HF. Fair enough- lots of guys are too upset to talk about it when a relationship comes to an end. But if you ever need a shoulder to cry on, I'll be here for you.

The Sharp deal is what surprises me. Even you, HF, wrote that he didn't want to leave his family to move south. Now this. I wonder of we never even asked Doncaster about him.

I think we will see a few signings tomorrow, perhaps Morrison from Man U. Risky, but if Sir Trevor rates him it could be worth the risk.

Allardyce refuses to waste West Ham's money

Published 22:29 30/01/12 By MirrorFootball

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce insists his club will not be held to ransom as they look to bring a big-name striker to Upton Park.

Allardyce has so far missed out on Huddersfield’s Jordan Rhodes and Rangers’ Nikica Jelavic, as well as Barnsley winger Ricardo Vaz Te.

Allardyce, whose promotion-chasing side face Ipswich in the Championship on Tuesday night, said: “Just because it is West Ham bidding, the price seems to go up. Clubs seem to want to squeeze as much money out of us as possible.

“There’s many reasons why a deal breaks down but I think we have a sensible value of a player’s worth.

“The finances at this club are delicate. If it is far too expensive, you have to be brave enough to say no.”

Come on HF. Don't be one of the many West Ham thickos - you can't fault the club for trying and having no luck.

Also if you look at why he has 15 clubs 10 are loan deals so that point is invalid hes only really had 5 which is a fair few but all it takes is to not fit with the style of play a new manager has or you cant settle in the country i think you should give the lad a chance thats our problem at times we expect so much too quick ! yet we have given sears years and hes shown nothing great ! who knows this guy could be it, but then we will sell him haha like when diamanti started to come into his own then we sold him COYI

100% underwhelmed. I think you may have shot your bolt a bit early there HF.

Sam is a classy poker player, even if his football quality leaves something to be desired.

This is the guy, who at Newcastle, got us to pay an extra mill on top of the £6 million we'd already agreed for Kieron Dyer after agreeing personal terms with the player. That really stuck in my throat at the time. And to then find out that Sam had nothing in his hand but crap all along that we would continue to pay for over the rest of his contract.

Loads of people have been saying that Sam and the Davids don't know what they're doing in the transfer market and that we should've got our signings done at the beginning of Jan.

What crock!? Since when were we Unreal City, able to pay top dollar a the first time of asking?

We'll see player values tumble today as clubs can't afford to have a player leave for free and then accept pennies by comparison, Vaz Te, Maynard etc.Maynard was quoted as 6 mill. £2.5 is good business.

It's about negotiation, it's about getting the best deal for us. The people on the other side of the table are trying to do the same thing. That's why a deal can't be done until the last minute.

And Morrison, well that really could be a coup couldn't it? Or not, we'll see. If anyone can keep him under control it's Allardyce.

With competition on the flanks, a fit Taylor and some new goal threats we could actually start playing some football while we're winning the league . . . now that, would cheer everyone up.
