''I think Watford's fans can expect an exciting and attacking style from his team. Gianfranco represents this project perfectly.''
How many times did we hear about "the project" at Upton Park? Duxbury coined it, Nani gave lip service to it, and Zola smiled and nodded and touched his forelock and waved goodbye to Collins and Bellamy and welcomed in any old Continental crap that Nani wanted to foist upon him.
Poor old Dyche. He did a reasonable job last season and has been kicked out because he has a mind of his own. Perhaps, like Curbishley, he wouldn't lie down and take it.
I'm not sure if Watford fans understand exactly the extent of the disaster that could be about to befall their club. You have my sympathy guys, it should have happened to a far nastier club!

Zola waived bye to Bellamy? He was forced to sell him and Etherington you muppet. His style was attacking and got us in the top half when the club wasn't falling down around him. He saved us from relegation with horrible players and even then occasionally played some good football in 09.
I guess when you've got owners worth 2 billion who own profitable clubs (one of them back to back CL qualifiers) and a £4m scouting network, you tend to think they know what they're doing.
You boys just carry on with your hoofball, we won't titter I promise.

This blog is an absolute joke. It entertains me to the point that it can't be serious and Im pretty sure it isn't written by a genuine WHFC fan. Zola failed because of the owners, its so crystal clear! Those owners are gone, you are about to become the new Bolton and should look forward to just about surviving the premier league with some 35 year old has beens. Good luck. Unless of course Allardyce gets sacked for failing to win any of his first 6 games.
Why don't you focus on your own club
You're wrong. Bellamy threw a hissy fit & threatened to go on strike - forcing a transfer to Man City. I'm sick of hearing how Zola had no money to spend? - £9m on Savio, £3m on Benni McCarthy! He finished 9th with Curbishley's team, & 17th only because the 3 below us were absolutely awful.
Sorry Matt, Zola was terrible!
01:37 they know what there doing they employed nani one word to you "savio". hoof ball worked well when we stuffed you at vicarage road.
Its obviously not the same 'project' this is time is it you moron, with completely different owners in charge of the club. Extremely successful owners if you look at their two other top flight Italian and Spanish clubs they own
WOW! No posts on QPR HF... Why? Is it because Fernandes is working wonders at Rangers and your mouth is stuffed with a huge helping of humble pie.
Look forward to the games against West Ham!
Good luck Watford, you're going to need it.
0935, they rarely hit the QPR News Now Board now, otherwise I would still be posting. QPR achieved Premier status on News Now sometime in April and Championship threads don't get automatic coverage on Premier League boards. Why QPR were left with Championship status for so long is beyond me. Perhaps News Now anticipated you coming straight back down!
0837, of course it is a different project. Same name, same outcome, different project.
Watford v West Ham in the premier league in a couple of seasons if you guys survive.... :)
This may end the debate, then. Grant was a bit of an open book when he came to us. Was he a manager that actually took a team to the CL Final on merit? Did he perform well at Pompey despite the turmoil? West Ham provided the answers.
Now its Zolas turn. If they play well and get promoted, then it may be that he was indeed screwed over by our owners. Im not holding my breath, but time will tell.
Unlike many at the Vic I am not wetting myself with excitement. Rather I am taking a long hard look at all the hype and will make a considered judgement, based on action not words. So what exactly did Nani and co do that upset WHU supporters so much?
why dont you at west ham concentrate on a season of mediocrity in the prem under big sam and leave little old watford to sort themselves out. for once in the last 5 years we are going into a season knowing we don't have to sell anyone and the clubs financial future is secure. why do west ham fans think they invented football and can comment and tell everyone else how it should be done.
Zola was not a bad manager. Just the running of the club at boardroom level was awful. He was well respected by the players (remember the Parker goal vs Wigan) and played a style of football that our appreciated. just a shame we were in financial turmoil with useless owners and directors calling the shots in terms of transfers. Would have liked to have seen him given a chance beyond the 2009/10 seasons. Besides, the following season couldn't have gone any worse than under Grant, surely?
