Where was Nolan in Portugal? Nursing his injury presumably, which is very worrying. Just as worrying was the decision to start Tomkins as a holding midfielder because of Diarra's absence. The pattern has been set as a regular posted earlier today - flat back four screened by two defensive midfielders, a striker supported by Nolan (when fit) and flanked by two wide men. Where's the midfield? There isn't one! Win the ball and hoof it; lose the ball, retreat and park a six foot plus caravan. Turds would approve but it is not the way most West Ham fans want to see the game played.
The optimists will point to us getting a draw yesterday, but our goal, inevitably, was from a set piece, with Tomkins and Reid combining. We scored precious few goals from open play last season and we are going to score even less this! Cole, Maiga and Vaz Te will be asked to chase down long balls, press for corners or free kicks, and then the giants will crowd the box hoping for an ugly goal. No wonder Allardyce dreamt of landing Carroll!

86 season we had a dreadful pre season and finished 3rd not saying we will do it again. As long as we survive this season I don't care what the formation is or how we play this season is all about survival.
Hay Ho, yawn, the world couldn't care less. Hoof ball, yawn, defensive midfielders zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! Nolan, set pieces and chicken dancing. No wonder you'd rather blog about Leeds. Meenwhile, Leeds win 4 without reply in their last pre season friendly against in form opporsition in the League Cup.
Yes, the defense did look shaky. But like you said it was a draw, and a draw against a Europa League runner-up team from only 2 years ago. Overall the addition of Diarra will be immense. It was also good to see Diame after many thought he would be out with injury. Overall a good tune up for the hammers and I think with a few more additions we will be ok for the year
Absolutely no chance whatsoever 1825 and Brendan. On paper you have the worse starting 11 in the premiership which is currently reflective of what is happening on the pitch I see. RBC (and a new record at that) I'm afraid guys as much as I genuinely don't want that for you. I reckon you'll need a complete clear out and new manager if you're to stand any chance of coming back up as well. Allardyce is so painfully sh@t can't you see that? What happened to the great West Ham passing sides you (never really) had? You lot are rubbish!!
I can't help but agree with 09:18. We simply are a very bad and disjointed version of Bolton. Sam took our soul...
Ha ha 1825 the famous 86 season. You're greatest season on record if I'm not mistaken. Bet you have a shrine in your bedroom dedicated to those 'heroes'!!
So will a few whinging w,ham fans change things? It's an indication of what to expect over the coming months. Rejoice in the fact that you have spared another club from george mccartney. You're only humiliating yourselves with these posts and comments, whilst providing laughs for everyone else. For the amount of people you actually get commenting you might aswell just ring eachother up and talk shite that way. How many posts on diouf is it now? 3 and counting.
