Ok, the "goal" was over the line despite John Terry's monumental and quite, quite brilliant clearance. But that just shows the nonsense of the goal line technology proposals, for had the goal been given, an illegitimate goal would have been awarded because the earlier offside had been missed.
So, you either go to a fourth official to rule on all goals, checking for handball, offside, foul play etcetera, or accept that officials make errors. Goal line technology is a stupid half way house!
My mum always told me that two wrongs don't make a right; well tonight we saw that just is not true!

Exactly what I thought. How far back do you go back and change things? It was a blatant offside so do you pull it up there or further back to when someone dived etc?
Its a very difficult thing to do cos if that had been given the papers would of had a field day with "the offside goal" and how england had bad luck again etc.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Nice article- even though it's nonsense, but never mind all that. Let's get to the point which is that you owe me a tenner HF. Yay! Whee! Whoo!
West Ham promoted, England avoiding Spain (not that Italy will be easy) and HF having to go searching for his wallet cos he owes little old me money- happy days indeed!
Yeah we will have to arrange a meet in a pub for me to hand over a crisp new note! I have my opinions on England's midfield with Scotty at the hub but let's save that for later! Delighted to have lost the bet!

I'd only go crazy and blow it on cider and loose women (not necessarily in that order) so just stick some money in a cancer charity box next time you see one HF.
"My mum always told me that two wrongs don't make a right"
Well you and your brother/dad should stop trying to spit roast her then.
"Yeah we will have to arrange a meet in a pub"
Just remember. The Peacock on Elland Road is still too classy for you.
"John Terry's monumental and quite, quite brilliant clearance"
Never has someone received so much credit for ultimately failing....not to mention he was the cause of the problem in the first place!
Your admiration for Terry is perverse, HF
The point is, he didn't fail Stani. The goal was not awarded. Had Terry allowed the ball to hit the back of the net - and his recovery was monumental whether you like it or not - there would have been no argument, the scores would have been level. Instead, Terry showed a fantastic never say die attitude, covered back behind Hart brilliantly, and made a superb recovery clearance.
True, he was at fault initially, but the Ukranians were offside after that, so to blame Terry is unfair. From the moment that offside was missed by the officials, Terry was fantastic.
