West Ham Reject Stars In European Championship

How crazy is football? Lars Jacobsen looked ordinary at West Ham and nobody shed any tears when he departed - even though it meant Faubert provided cover at right back - but this afternoon, he stood medium tall for Denmark in an epic defensive performance against the formerly rampant Dutch.

Aaron Robbin? Jacobsen deposits his mayonnaise all over your French fries! Robin Van Persie? Jacobsen urinates in your Grolsch. Huntelaar? Jacobsen kicks you in your Edams!

The nitpickers will point out that the former Hammer did his best to give Holland a penalty and that some of his crossing was poor, but so what? He should have been ripped apart tonight and he wasn't. Mind you, I was hugely impressed with Kvist. Wonder how much it would cost to secure him from Stuttgart?

How much will he cost? About 10 times more than he would have done yesterday!

Simon Kjær is the name of the other Denmark center back. He currently plays in Roma, on loan from Wolfsburg. If Roma doesn't fancy making him a permanent signing, maybe he would opt for a move to the Boleyn Ground.

Kvist is a defensive midfielder, and we could really use some cover there, so Noble can focus more on the offensive part of the game, setting our strikers up in goalscoring positions.
