Officials Instructed At Half Time To Make Amends To QPR For Ghost Goal

Who gave the order? I don't know. But the officials knew they had got it very badly wrong before the break, with the linesman clearly saying "I didn't see it was over the line" because players were in the way.

So what happened at half time? The FA made a statement DURING the game that goal line technology would be introduced as soon as possible, increasing the pressure on the officials by publicly recognising that a grave error had been made. Did Atkinson receive a call on his mobile phone? Was an instruction given to even things up by favouring QPR in any crucial 60:40 decisions in the second half? Don't cheat as such, but exercise "judgement" to defuse the controversy by making amends. Or did the officials put their heads together and arrive at that decision themselves?

How else can you explain the decision to allow Cisse's equaliser? I can understand an official missing the ghost goal, I knew it had happened but in real time I didn't spot it, and the MOTD commentator yelled "Hit the bar", failing to spot that the ball had crossed the line. However, Cisse was three yards off side and, as quick as he is, wasn't moving at the same speed as the ball following Hill's header. He's also easier to spot, being a big black unit in bright orange with a stupid hairstyle. Again, I knew that Cisse had scored an offside goal, but I didn't believe it was this one! It was impossible not to see he was offside!

Of course Hughes forgot about that when he moaned about the disallowed Hill goal. But actually, the second goal should have been more decisive than the first. Coming so soon after half time, it undermined Coyle's half time talk and gave all the impetus to QPR. But even with that helping hand, Hughes' charges were unable to take anything from the game.

All the noise centres on the Hill "goal" but the Cisse "goal" was even more outrageous in my book. Hughes can have no complaints, except that his defence are hopeless. But whose fault is that? He signed Nedum and decided to prioritise other areas of the team, even though that meant playing Anton in the centre of defence.

As for the Cisse goal, Atkinson and his officials should be investigated because I suspect rules may have been deliberately bent; how else do you explain the failure to spot a big black guy in fluorescent orange three yards offside? The trouble is, the rule bending may well have been on instruction from the FA or Premier League and they are not going to finger themselves are they - as ex public school boys they have fags to do that for them!

So perhaps the police should be called in for an independent investigation. Perhaps somebody should get hold of Atkinson's mobile phone records. Where is "The News of the World" when you need it?

Why do you hate QPR so much, jealousy because they traded places with WHU league-wise? I mean what're youre lads doin these days. I hope QPR & WHU share prem league status next year or do you really want to have to go all the way to Bolton to see WHU play an away game, devoted fanatic you are? As for Cisse's goal; 3 yards - youre making stuff up to gratify your own deluded grandeur & completely missing the point. Mistakes like the qpr's 1st goal disqualification change the course of a game, & the energy of a team & sometimes not for the better. Saying Hughes moaned about it overlooks the fact that thousands of QPR fans also moaned, & after 15 years of struggle QPR deserve a chance to enjoy Prem status again. You'd better hope QPR doesn't go down & WHU stay down because if Tony is as smart as he is, should QPR get relageted, he wont sell any players, & QPR will totally dominate the championship & your love of WHU will be a painful one when going up against Cisse, Mackie, & Zamora. A question for your thoughts WHU vs QPR tomorrow - now who doesn't stand a chance in hell ? As for Tony - he may be a WH fan but he has better taste in teams, and a lot more brains and balls, than you do.

P.S. 1-1 to Doncaster - write about that

P.P.S. If you don't print my previous email, then a suppose you must be a total WANKER

How many yards offside do you think he was? You accept he was offside presumably? And very obviously offside? And you accept goals change games? So explain why the QPR equaliser that wasn't didn't change the game? Why didn't QPR's confidence surge and why weren't Bolton deflated? There was a huge injustice involved so Bolton had every excuse to fold, but they didn't. Why? Made of sterner stuff perhaps? Motivated by a better manager perhaps?

PS I have written about West Ham's game. Check the history in the right hand panel.

PPS It was a coincidence in your view that Cisse's blatantly offside goal was allowed presumably? Watch out mate, all those accidental meetings in hotels that your wife is having with the well endowed neighbour may not be as innocent as you believe!

Blimey Hammersfan, I think you ought to go sleepy bye byes now, you've clearly had a bit too much Babycham

1stly, I'm not married. 2nd, Cisse's offside was VERY slight when compared to the opening goal which was a GLARING error that hurt QPR & took their momentum & purpose & turned it to just being pissed off. 3rd opening goals or their disavowal change the course of games, to the point that managers, players & announcers discuss the phenomenon all the time. Ive never heard the same said of a second or third goal. This disqualification proved to be a negative distraction to hughes & a huge boost to Bolton's confidence. Different moods in the half time dressing room - no doubt. By the way I know that QPR players have been through some sh*t themselves, you only have to read the news or see the 4 year plan to know that this has been a bumpy ride for all involved (A story stating that Hughes told the players he would be cleaning house at seasons end was particularly disturbing & must have made it hard for players to play with unbridled enthusiasm.) That being said at least no-one got sent off this time.
That being said, there is PLENTY of room for improvement to both sides (QPR/WHU).
I must give you credit for printing my response, but the wife comment was just a cheap shot & aint got nuffin to do wiv football, innit? I just wanted you to print my sh*t. I would cut that out if i was you.
But you still havent answered the big question - why do you enjoy putting down QPR SO much, you do like to, don't you. WHY?

PS read your critique of WH/doncaster match. Are you a WH fan? did you go to the match? Glad to see youre not afraid to crap on WHU fans in your colunm, & if you are a WHU supporter, yourself. Did you go to that match? Couldnt get the fan's up. Come on ! How many home games without a win ? Are you surprised they weren't excited ? But I do know it only takes one impassioned fanatic to enflame a whole crowd. Still not so easy when youre disgusted

Your quite right cisse was offside and our goal was clearly over the line but that's just the start of it what about the fact of the two blatant penalties we should have had and the free kick leading up to there first goal was actually a free kick to us u clueless prick get your facts straight before you start spouting your mouth off no doubt we are the cause of our own downfall and deserve to be where we are in the leauge but shit refereeing seems to follow us around and that don't help see you next year in the championship wankers

Why are gRs having a go at me? I didn't make the decisions! If we are going to analyse every decision, the Hill "goal" came from a corner that shouldn't have been given! So no controversy then, the ghost goal came from a ghost corner!

Anonymous said...

its just the incessant combination of goading and gloating. Have you ever mentioned anything positive about the Rs?

What can be said? celebrating others misfortune is a thankless occupation or should I say cele-baiting

Cisse offside by 3 yards, watch it again you idiot.......

Hammersfan said...

1028, yes I have. Check the history, particulary my humble pie thread when Fernandes bought Zamora. The trouble is, there's not much opportunity to be positive is there? Is it my fault that the season has unfolded exactly as I predicted? You gRs abused me, calling me an idiot and telling me that there's was no way QPR would struggle. Well you are in the bottom three in March. You blame me, but I don't buy the players, pick the team and determine the tactics, I have just consistently pointed out the flawed decision making. And I've been proved right!

Anyway, this is not an anti QPR thread, the Cisse goal was obviously offside - had that goal decided the game with no other controversy, there would have been uproar! Quite a coincidence that it balanced out the ghost goal don't you think?

Here is my prediction for u hf rangers started fading this time last year we had put enough day light between us and second to make sure nobody was catching us outcome we were champions the hammers are fading now and the only place I can see them come may is the playoffs will they go up in the playoffs you tell me but I wouldn't be filled with optimism if I was a westham fan good luck you will need it

You're an absolute half-wit who clearly only watched the highlights on MOTD, probably because Sky won't go around your parts to fit the dishes...

Talking of dishes- how's your Mum?

So, now that we've got those playground retorts (insulting people's wives especially) out of the way, maybe we can stop being so juvenile and try and work out why you've got such a problem with QPR...

My first point is that, yes granted Cisse was offside. But not by the margins you'r suggested. It was minimal. Regardless, you're correct he was offside.

Right, in there lies your 'point' about the officials 'evening up' proceedings. You may or (more likely) may not be right, however from your utter tripe of an 'unbiased' football blog you've failed to take into consideration the rest of the match where this CERTAINLY wasn't the case.
Had you had actually watched the game you'd have witnessed the fact that we should have had a stonewall penalty, and that Pratley should have been off with the number of fouls commented already on a yellow.

I thought I'd bring this to your attention as I thought you may have (completely accidentally of course), missed these incidents.

However as mentioned earlier, let's discuss why you've got such a gripe with us QPR fans. I suggest it was probably because of that time when you were
molested as a kid by your dad who
Just happened to be wearing a Blue & White hooped top, whilst listening to Queen.

Hammersfan said...

Having evened it up, so soon after half time, they didn't dare make another questionable call in favour of either side. They were praying for a 1-1 draw, then QPR's defence cocked it all up and left Hughes fuming!

Rangers are going down now that's a full gone conclusion but the silver lining is we will take u to pieces next year in the championship because the hammers aren'tgoing no where this season pal

And in one fail swoop you've proceeded to undermine your entire argument and show yourself up to be the ignorant numpty that you are!
