I must admit that I am warming to the idea! Just make him join the Socialist Worker's Party first; tell him it's the National Socialists and he will fall over himself to sign!
Piquionne is not as bad as Carew. He can be real class when he feels like it. Carew is just passed it.
Last time I watched piquionne play for West Ham in my opinion he didn't want to score.
Carew may be past it, but Piq has NO effort whatsover. He's just collecting a check. I still think the best option game in and game out is cole.
Hold on......are these posts just a wind up? From my recollection the problem with most that join the Hammers (players or staff) perform well initially - even the 3 you mentioned. Then as usual they all drop off....Zola may have been a striker but that didn't help us? The defence where awful even though we had Clarke. At least with Big Sam we seem to have some consistency now and we're 2/3rds through the season and could still be on top. We've got some great players and for me Faye is brilliant. Get behind the team and DG/DS...lets get back to the Prem and stay there!
My only problem is that we seem to play with only 1 up front (when we have lots of strike force options) and we punt up long balls to Maynard when he needs it to feet (but he needs someone up there with him).....Defence has improved and if we'd only managed to hold on for a few more mins in those games we lost in the dying seconds then we'd be well clear of the others now and singing Big Sams praises. The players are on the pitch and they MUST concentrate until the final whistle blows - then the game has ended NOT BEFORE. COYI :)
Cole has something to offer that is very unique. He can hold the ball well and he frightens defenders. With Baldock next to him to pick any lose balls I think we have the best chance for scoring goals.
I would surely include Cole to lead the attack. But I would probably prefer that we played with three attackers rather than two. But I can't complain too much because Sam has picked up enough points by being solid in defence.
