Sheffield United Prove There Is A God!

So West Ham continue to underwrite Shafting United's flounderings in the old Division Three! With the final stage payment of the Tevez compensation due this year, the Blunted Blades sit in fifth place in the table, adrift of the mighty Bournemouth, Doncaster, Tranmere and Swindon, and level on points with Brentford and Yeovil Town!

All that money, and what good has it done them? Some might say that it just goes to show that shit finds its level. Colchester travel to Sheffield United in the next round of fixtures and it would be bloody marvellous if Freddie Sears were to bag a shock winner.

Warnock apart, we had no gripe with Sheffield United before, but now long may they suffer!

It's unfortunate that you cannot see the error of our ways, cheats seldom prosper and your club cheated to retain their premiership status. I am also quite certain that had he roles been reversed we would have had a points reduction.

But it's ok all hail the mighty ammers

Its a pity it was Sheffield United as I have always found the South Yorkshire people, arguably, the nicest in Great Britain during my years of travelling & watching West Ham. I just wish ill on their club and chairman.

Think justice is served in the long run myself, Sheffield Utd are not good enough and will never be good enough to stay in the premier league, you knew you were going down, either way just seems so perfect that you used the tevez saga as your scapegoat, Warnock is an absolute IDIOT.

I dont support West Ham myself but like the first post says, shit finds its level, welcome to league 1 Sheffield Utd, Make yourself at home.

Deserve everything you get.

I can't recall Sheff Utd calling West Ham cheats after they'd beaten them (INCLUDING TEVEZ) 3-0 at Bramall Lane...instead they were dancing on West Ham's grave because they had a comfortable points cushion and it was looking like the Hammers were already down...the crying and finger pointing only started when the mighty blades and their stellar premiership squad plummeted down the table, yet even on the last day their premiership survival was still in their own hands..needing only a home draw against WIGAN to stay up but they blew it...ironic how the only player from their star studded team to remain in the prem was Jagielka, the man who gave away the penalty that sent them down...if Sheff Utd were good enough to be in the premiership then they wouldn't have needed to be concerned with other teams' results..they got relegated because THEY weren't good enough, regardless of one player on another team who I will reiterate, played against Sheff Utd in a 3-0 defeat. It would be very difficult to find a bigger collection of pathetic whiners and even with all the millions they have taken out of West Ham they still find themselves in the 3rd division...any true blade should be embarrassed.

I still find it hard to see how Manc Utd can play the same player for two seasons on loan then decide they don't want him.....what was the difference between them and what the Ammers did!!!

As this dark episode in our history draws to a close I say move on. Sheff Utd will always bleat about 'The Tevez Affair' and Hammers fans will declare the reasoning behind the 18 mill payout was flawed - so never the twain shall meet. West Ham have maintained their Premiership status but (un)fortunately Sheff Utd find themselves in the 3rd tier. If I were a Blades fan I would want to know where all that money went.It certainly didn't go on players did it?

Shut up you pot cock, West ham broke the rules and played the wanker that burnt at 500 degrees, west ham who? Shove your bubbles up your arse u southern faggot. What's embarrassing is if it were man u, city, Liverpool or even other way around they'd have been docked points, we might not have been good enough for prem but even with tevez and mascharano neither were you! U forget it were either us or you and look at you this season. One of worst teams in prem. Fact

well, as a blade of many years, i hav to say that honestly, its a shame so many hammers keep on about this! All the money from the hammers went to a cerain mr mcabe, not sheff utd, as it was his personnel that sued west ham, as a fan, we've never seen a penny of it, and wouldn't want to either, we lost it on the pitch, fair n square due to an idiot called warnock trying to play safe boring negative footy with 10 games to go, what an idiot he was, most blades fans are in agreement with all my points, and many are like myself and have always had a bit of a soft spot for the hammers, their brand of football and the usual underdog tag in our respective cities which we share, so come on hammers, dont slag off the true footy fans and the club, we dont west ham i tell ya, slag off where the blame lies, warnock n mcabe an wish us better times ahead if mcabe does'nt bury us first! tony-sheffield-united

You'll never be as good as Sheffield Wednesday. Enjoy that fact :)

@tony - 13:56 what a decent fella you sound - I can only apologise for the uneducated, uncouth oik that runs this sham of a blog.

Lets face it, Cork and West Spam legend Brooking is the FA's answerto Michel Platini. Anything that puts West Spam under threat, points deductions, player bans, all get written off. Same with Platini at UEFA, Juventus get away with anything

Decent. Best comment I've read on the subject. All the best

Oh ok. So QPR and Liverpool then? Same case but worse for QPR because Tevez saga set the precedent. West Spam? Grow up mong.

It's a great shame it all ended up this way tbh.

In my view (as a Blade) - yes West Ham probably should have been docked points for fielding Tevez as he was ineligible, there's absolutely no escaping that fact whatsoever.

However, with 10 games to go, we were sitting pretty and should have pushed on. But, we took our foot off the gas and our eyes off the ball. It could be argued there were several factors that took us down, even Rob Styles giving Liverpool a mysterious penalty on the opening day of the season for an "intent to foul" as a certain Mr Gerrard made his way into the box before falling over with Liverpool trailing 1-0 and not long left on the clock.

Ultimately, the truth is that we weren't good enough. It's too easy to blame West Ham for what happened to us, and yes of course it rankles a bit seeing us in the 3rd tier with WHU still up there in the Prem, but as I said, we just weren't good enough and paid the price.

Finding ourselves in the 3rd tier certainly isn't anything to do with it either. The blame there lies firmly at our owners door for some seriously inept decision making, particularly during our relegation season from the Championship.

It's also a shame some feel the need to wish ill on our club as I think you'll probably find the majority of Blades fans certainly don't feel that way inclined about the Hammers.

Good luck for the rest of the season, NT.

Oh come on NT, that's not fair! How can I hate Sheffield United now when such an obviously decent guy supports the club?

Hang on. Think McCabe & Warnock. McCabe & Warnock. McCabe and Warnock!

That's better, back to normal!

Let's just hope that the compensation rightly paid to Sheffield United due to west hams corruption,is money that could've been spent on saving west ham from relegation. Ha ha. If you can't spare a dime, then don't do the crime. Ha ha.

west ham paid sheffield united nothing....

That is a myth..
How much did West Ham gain by retaining prem status?

minus out the payments to sheff united..

West ham made a tidy profit in cheating ! thanks to bubblemastergeneral brooking

Dear oh dear, you won't let it lie.

Shit finds its level? I always had good banter with West Ham fans and still believe that in the main like any supporters of any teams they are good supporters. I would have thought a club like West Ham could have sympathy with a club like Sheffield United. Lets face it, West Ham FC (not its fans) broke the rules. Then then went and lied when saying they had torn Tevez contract up. Now excuse me for being a bit high and mighty but you should have been docked points. Its only because of Scudamore and the crooked Premiership you didn't get that points deduction.

Be careful when you are jumping up and down on our graves. We are not in a good place right now but we are big enough to deserve a place at or near the Premiership. Our crowds similar to yours. Our heritage and history is steeped back to the beginnings of football. In fact Sheffield is where the game was born. But you keep up your hate campaign for long enough. You might even see us next season if you keep playing the way you are.

Remember, its not the fans who get the money or make the decisions here, its clubs chairman and boards. Surely there should be mutual respect between supporters of football clubs. Banter and rivalry yes, outright abuse, no.

There is some good that s come out of that Money. It's helped keep the Sad Hammers a bit poorer which may well end up being the difference between keeping them in the top flight.

Maybe they can approach Neil Warnock to see if he will go for his record promotion with West Ham next season...

I'm very glad to see that McCabe kept all the money. So typical of a greedy self-serving 'owner'. As for Sheffield, the team I prefer is of copurse the once great Wednesday.
Warnock was and still is a complete tool - just read his newspaper column in the Independent. A tool of the 1st rank, who had a 10 pt advantage and lost it, then blamed the wheeler dealers then in charge of WHU. As for the Irons, we had the self-server Grant, who just got a 'championship' win on his CV wit Patrizan, and promptly resigned so he can carry on pretending to be a football 'expert' to his patron. So we never gained any real advantage fro 'cheating' as those wonderful Yorkie sportsmen think. Fortunately, the Fat Man was just about able to gets back up with his outdated, cautious style of 'football'. It could be much worse of course - we could have the Mussolini-snouter next !! But I think it'll be someone really in the football avant-garde - Alex McCleish perhaps ?

Another failure at the playoff = happy hammer and despite sponging off hammers cash. There is a god. Long may each club stay where they deserve to be.
