Mark Noble has a mare as West Ham defeat Cardiff in season opener

Well what do you do with the guy? Mr PR, all smiles and on message statements and no crucial contributions on the pitch, Mark Noble gave his usual anonymous, mistake ridden performance.

True he assisted our second goal with a one two and a superb driving run at the heart of the Cardiff defence before releasing Nolan to score, but anybody can get lucky.

True too, in the first half, he played a pin point, perfectly timed pass through to Joe Cole, which the former England man really should have buried. But anybody can get lucky twice.

And true thrice that he played another brilliant pass, from half way line onto the toe of Jarvis on the edge of the penalty box, which really should have led to another goal, but we've all heard the saying, three times lucky!

Of course, Noble will talk his way out of trouble and into Allardyce's team with his nodding dog, PR performance, but better judges than Big Sam, Avram, Zola and Curbishley will all point to the free kick he gave away and a number of stray passes in the game.

So what that Noble was the holding midfielder and West Ham kept a clean sheet? So what that Noble chalked up one assist and created two other nailed on scoring opportunities? The guy's a clown and is only in the team because he is an arse licker.

The West Ham Academy? Local boy doing the club proud? Don't make me laugh!

Greta Post HF, but how about a proper match report with ratings now.

I didn't see it live Fred. Death in the family meaning other things took priority. Unlike Shankley, I understand that football isn't more important than life and death.

Ah, makes sense, sorry for the loss. If you get a chance check out skysports match choice, MOTD didnt even show the fact that our 2nd goal was a 16 pass move.

Come on the Irons, but no understanding of Irony clearly!

Hammersfan said...

Harry, ever heard of Irony? Why do you think I carry Noble's picture on the title of the blog? Read it again after engaging your brain please!

Seriously?! What a boring piece of irony.. Great game from the lads including Noble! If you have anything interesting to say please do it in a non-self-presentation manner.. good night

Hammersfan said...

And he exits, red faced with embarrassment. Yep, it was a great start to the season, and that lazy arse Nolan who was our top scorer last season, netted yet again! He shouldn't be in the team either. Clearly!

I was calling a substitite in the 70th minute and yet again he scores.. He might not be the most influential player during a full game, but he scores goals for fun as a midfielder.. COYI

Why is it, that no westham fan can be happy, both Nolan and noble had a good game, hey we won didn't we? So how about stop moaning about individual performances, because as a team we won, and westham has alwaysbeen about team perfoances so shut up, about bad perfoances because we won and noble and Nolan had a good game, save your critics if we lose to hull

There is a geezer on WHO called Texas Iron who used to be the biggest idiot poster congrats on superceding him to number one.

Sunday Mirror

And at the hub of it all is Mark Noble.

Cole was named man-of-the-match but in truth Noble should have been handed the accolade.
In the stands was West Ham legend Billy Bonds. He would have loved the contribution Noble made.

He destroyed and he created — and that was never more apparent than in the 76th minute when his run from deep opened up the Cardiff defence and set up Nolan to sweep home a superb second goal that ended Cardiff’s resistance.

Great piece (if understood), its about time some of the so called supporters who continuously knock the like of Noble, and Nolan took a step back, and thought of where we might be without certain players goals, and effort.

get it out of your system HF..boring

3 points is all i care about

where was carroll ?

Hammersfan said...

And the silence of Stani and Sav is deafening of course!

Noble is West Ham, an good honest pro who still seems down to earth when most players are like flash spoilt brats.

As we are currently a top 4 club maybe Noble will get his deserved England call up.
People who moan about him are the sort that base ratings on Fifa UT or newspaper reports and who don't understand irony!

Hammersfan said...

LOL 0857, that was clever and could be taken both ways!

noble is west ham through and through so how about get off his back i was there yesturday and ok a few mistakes but hes only human and all top players make mistakes, noble legend and as for nolan the guy just keeps on scoring ,i reckon another 10-15 goals for him this season ,....coyis

Glad to see the noble knockers get proven wrong yet again but the last two seasons he has played at a higher standard than moat his team mates so ome game wont change their mind. Stubborn and wont admit they are wrong.

SOMEONE WHO OBVIOUSLY DOESNT LIKE MARK NOBLE

WHY HAS HE BEEN SHAGGIN YOUR MISSUS

Anonymous said...

To those who moan about Nolan. Watch him for a whole game and just observe what he actually does in a game. He lost the ball yesterday, regained it and fed the through ball down the left hand side which led to the first goal, He threw his body in the way of two goal bound shots and scored a great goal. Try watching the game sober - it may help you.

No more appropriate word than Crazy!

Sorry to hear about your loss HF.

And by the way, if you saw the match rather than just the stats, you would not think your protégé had such a good game.

Your ironary is obviously wasted on this site HF. More intersting topics would be why O'Brien was preferred to Rat and what is going to happen about the central striker problem. Maiga proved beyond all doubt yesterday how gutless and lacksadaisicle he can be. Probably any player on the bench yesterday could have done a better job. Who goes other than Maiga to make wages availlable for another striker?

Hammersfan said...

Thanks Sav. But show some grace, recognise that Noble proved you wrong yet again. I am getting the uncomfortable feeling that you and Stani would rather West Ham lose and Noble have a bad game than West Ham win with Noble impressing.

Its what I love about football. We all watch the same match but all see a differnt game. I made Diame M ofthe M by a margin. And forget Noble for a minute. Where was Morrison? Great pre season. 6 goals? Safety first eh bfs. Wasted opportunity

Stani said...

Err, you posted last night HF, we don't all stay awake waiting for your posts. And in fact I, like most of us, visited a few times after the game to give my reaction to your review but nothing was posted. I was raring to go, rather than observing a 'deathly silence' :D

Now...

I'm afraid you have just embarrassed yourself with this post.

Even your mate Iain Dale, a Noble fanatic, gave him a score of just 6 (second lowest) because his performance was littered with mistakes such as the two dangerous freekicks he gave away just outside the box which thankfully for us, the usually proficient Whittingham was unable to make the most of. Read through the thread of comments on Dale's site, which has always been pro-Noble, and you will see that people are beginning to see his frustrating limitations.

Now let's come to your comments about what he did. Right there is clear example of how anything Noble does is exaggerated as if he's done something exceptional: "with a one two and a superb driving run at the heart of the Cardiff defence before releasing Nolan to score"!! Then the other comment about his "pinpoint" pass to Cole! Both ordinary things blown up to be somehow exceptional because it's Noble! I'm surprised you didn't comment on the amazing way he tied his shoelaces and the sublime hand eye coordination with which he flicked back his hair!

On a brighter note, Downing's execution of his end product looked very promising and you would have seen he looked very lively in the few minutes he was on. One thing he needs to look at though is his early decision making as he could have put in a couple of our guys had he released earlier. Maybe head down too soon.

Other than that, the two finishes were superb, with Nolan once again demonstrating his value. People say he's lazy but he put himself about and got in some excellent close downs and blocks.

No HF, I care enough about my club to call out a player for being poor even if he is 'West Ham through and through' because I want my club to do well. No more 10 men on the field.

Did you watch the whole game, HF?

Sorry for your loss. May they rest in peace.

Sav said...

The truth is, against probably any other team (Cardiff for me was totally in sixes and sevens) we would have lost yesterday. What I like is for Noble to be Messi or Neymar or even Iniesta but I can only dream. The fact that Noble gave one good assist was not the reason we won yesterday. It is all due to Cardiff being huge relegation candidate.

is this a serious article?

What an absolute load of rubbish !!! You should be embarrassed with what you have just written! Stop watching football mate, Infact, stop supporting west ham and go and write articles on rugby. Your boring. Yawwwwn... mug

Normal bad reporting . Noble was not man of the match . Reckon you all fancy him . He is a crap player , trying his heart out for the cause but has zero talent. Nolan is an enigma. Looks lazy and lethargic but contributes 200% more than Noble could ever hope to do because he is a natural goal scorer.

Anonymous said...

HF - you use to moan about Parker being crap in front of his defence and conceding free kicks. Did you see the two needless free kicks conceded by Noble? England player my arse.
